I'm working from home today, H is at daycare and M is at camp. Praise be.
Y'all don't even want to know what my house looked like when I came home yesterday. Today I'm cleaning, doing laundry, and need to meal plan.

We were nearly out of water so it was delivered today. Now I need to start laundry. I also had them fill up the pool. Weeks with no rain and super hot days had it low. I have some paperwork to do today and finish getting school supplies Organized. Open house for M is tonight.

I'm the only staff that has showed up so far. Smokey called and said she would be late because the exterminator was at her house. She doesn't have to be here until 10, so you would think she would schedule it for before that, but whatever. Other coworker is still out with her daughter even though her daughter had no contact with the kids who actually had covid. She said she is working from home, but the other day when she was working from home Smokey called her and she was at the car wash.... Really feeling used right now and I'm getting annoyed. Especially since when they are out I have to take up the slack, but when I'm out those two don't do shit in regards to my job. Luckily, my new schedule starts today and I get to leave at 2. I'm also off tomorrow because it's Cadence's first day of school and I want to be able to drop her off and pick her up. And clean her bedroom while she's away.

Those of you who have gone through a miscarriage, what are things people did that helped? My sister found out today at 10 weeks her baby had no heartbeat. I think I'll drop of wine and dinner later and will also offer to take care of their daughter...

Morning. The air supply concert was interesting last night. The old guys still got it! I’m pretty sure I was the only person wearing a mask in the whole place. I actually didn’t think about it when I agreed to go but kind of panicked about the amount of people when we got into the room. It was fine though. I also put on a pair of jeans for the first time since it got warm and I started my diet and they fit so much better! Made me feel good about my progress. This is our last full week of summer vacation, the kids go to school next week. The guy finishing our deck better show up today. He keeps pushing it back and I just want it done so I can put my patio furniture back on the deck and out of the garage. wineallthetime I’m so sorry. Being a listening ear is a huge help after a loss.

I’m at work. Just refreshing my email any chance I get hoping to have an email from the school I want M2 to go to.
Other than that I’ll be waiting for M to get home because last night he said his teacher told him there will be 9 new kids in his class this week. 😳 I’m hoping he misunderstood because that would make 30 kids. He did say 10 kids were masked in his class so in a class of 21, I felt slightly better about him at school.

Evie's first day of school is Wednesday, so I sent an email this morning to her school nurse, teacher, and PE teacher and asked them to forward to the counselor because I don't know who that is. It made me sad to sit down and have to write it all out about Evie's JIA and try to explain how it effects her again. Last year was kind of living through it as it happened. This was the history and how it might effect her. I hope they don't think I'm a crazy, overbearing mom, but I just want them to be aware.
Tonight is back to school night, so we will take her supplies in and meet her teacher.

mwhip, I'm sure they will not think you are an overbearing mom, and that they will appreciate the info so they know how to help her. You do such a great job advocating for her

I had a phone call with my boss this morning. It was obvious HR told him about our conversation, which is totally fine, he should know. But I was sitting at my desk, surrounded by 2 coworkers on the other sides of my cubicle walls. So he is rescheduling for Thursday at 7am when no one else is here. But he did tell me he specifically hired me to replace the lady that micromanages things, since she's a few years from retirement. And the new person was hired to transition us to new software and try to streamline since the owner of our company keeps buying smaller companies and we aren't on the same systems. So I feel better about things, hearing it from him.
Especially since the other company I talked to 2 weeks ago has never responded to my 'thank you' email. I think I was overqualified for what they are looking for, but damn, answer your email! At least acknowledge receipt and that you have moved on.

I'm in the office today. We have an employee (fully vaccinated) who tested positive on Friday. I did not have any real contact with him last week so I am not worried, but when he told HR who he was in close contact with, it seems he may have left some people off the list, as a few people have asked if it was him (process of elimination) and said they were with him. I hate that I can't reveal the name. But I have advised everyone if they have any concern to go get tested.
I hate that we are here again, as schools are getting ready to reopen. This all stinks, so much.

I am also feeling nervous b/c MH is still away for another month and I am scared if we all get sick, having to care for the kids and be sick myself is no fun.
Knocking on all the wood, and sanitizing all the hands around here.

wineallthetime I am so sorry for your sister’s loss. For me just acknowledging it happened was already helpful. Reaching out, checking in, beyond those first few days/weeks. I’ve noticed that people sort of expect you to be okay again after a few weeks. Which I was not. Thoughtful cards were nice, and I got a box of bath goodies (that actually included a rainbow bubble bar) which I thought was very sweet.

Hi ladies, lots of little errands today and of course the all import Covid test… which was negative. But by god I feel like the Pokemon slogan from time to time ‘gotta collect them all’, this was no 12 and I’m not counting home tests. My parents came home from Norway today, so I cooked dinner, put some food in their fridge and some flowers on the table. They, in their turn, brought lots of clothes and little toys for the kids. The look of sheer joy on ds’ face when he saw them was adorable 🥰.

wineallthetime I’m sorry for her loss. If there are other people who knew she was pregnant and she’s not up for talking, offer to let them know what happened (my sisters and I did this for each other but that was before texting so maybe not as necessary now). You know her best, when my sisters had losses, they preferred I took their other kids and they hid in bed. When I had mine, after the physical part which was extremely painful for me was done, I needed to get out so my neighbor took my kid and my sisters took me to lunch.

Morning ladies.
Not sure what we'll do today. Probably just laze around the house. I want to try a knitting project again that intimidated me.

peachsmama I want to know more about being out of water. I’m guessing you are not an a public water system but also don’t have a well? That's exactly right. There are a couple Springs on our property but we've never tapped into them to use them as a well. So we have a cistern. Which is basically a giant concrete tank in the ground that holds our water and there's a pump and it pumps it into the house through underground pipes. All of our gutters run into it so when we have a lot of rain or in the Winter, a lot of snow, we have plenty of water. But we've had quite a dry spell so it was very low. We can haul it ourselves, we have a tank and we can go to a water place and get it but it takes all day for us to fill our cistern with our little 750 gallon tank. So I just paid for it to be delivered and they can fill it in 2 loads. Cost me $160. Back in the fifties, my grandpa owned both sides of our street and when they were going around and taking deposits to bring water to this section, he paid the deposit and then they took too long and he wanted his $70 back. So he made them give it back so they skipped our section of street when they put in water. We've had it quoted recently and it would cost us a 150k to get water ran down our street now....

Today I can mark "hear a horse fart" off my bucket list. It was never on my list, but I'll write it on there just to have something to mark off. Cadence had her riding lesson today on a little white pony. He literally gave no shit about being in a lesson. He kept farted and then stopped in the middle of the arena to take a poop. 🤦💩🤷
