The climate news with the Atlantic current thing freaked me out when I was finally able to read an article on it yesterday. Longer term I'd been trying to think of how to keep our house cool in the summer (we don't have A/C) with the too-hot summers that have been happening more and more frequently, now all of a sudden I'm thinking I might need to be much more worried about cold weather here in Central Europe. Our latitude is about mid-Canada, and the Gulf Stream is the only thing that keeps Europe at a much more temperate climate.
I haven't even started packing for our trip to the US on Saturday. Somehow I'm convinced that one of us is going to end up in quarantine. We'll be traveling for 27 hours door to door and I also need to plan number of masks, how many disinfectant wipes I need to take, etc. Our area of the US is actually ok compared to a lot of places, but I'm still super paranoid about what it's going to be safe to do.

From what I've about the currents, you will probably still need to worry about AC in the short term- expect fluctuating between hot and cold extremes.
