I'm still plugging along with Run with Hal. I started a month ago and it's good that I can actually run 5-6 miles without stopping, but I feel disappointed with my pace, which is between 10:00 - 1:00/minutes per mile. So slow! Overall though I think the plan has been good at working up the miles and giving me enough time for rest/recovery so I can stay on track. I've been doing heartrate training and my speed hasn't moved much since I started.

Actually, now that I look more at Ally's updated photos/videos today, the dress I thought was her ceremony/reception dress might have just been another party dress? I haven't seen any ceremony pics yet so she must just be having the best party ever for a whole week straight. I can't wait til she gets to those photos. CurlieWhirlie I had those thoughts too about if some instructors were being left out. I have to imagine it had to be figured out based on coverage for the classes too? Like I haven't seen anything from Adrian, Jess K, or Alex at the wedding yet. I've seen Cody, Emma, Robin and Tunde though so I know they were there. Very interesting.

It's why most people don't stick with it. It's so slow and gradual. I'm not much faster. My long run pace outside is over 10 minutes per mile which keeps making me sad. My last marathon I comfortably ran the first nine miles at a sub 9 minute pace and clocked a sub 2 hour half. To be so much slower three years later is so disheartening. But I keep reminding myself how lucky I am that my body is able to do all that I ask of it, which is a lot most of the time. And it performs. Maybe not as fast or effortlessly as I'd like, but it's still doing amazing things none the less. The same goes for you. Your body is doing amazing things. Be proud of it whenever you can. Kristin McGee did this cheesy thing at the end of a yoga class where she sat up cross legged after savashanah and hugged herself and thanked her body. It felt so silly, but I've been doing it after every yoga practice I do and it's weirdly helped me appreciate my body more.

And Hannah C and Jess Sims and DJ John Michael were there, and the former Peloton instructor who left under questionable circumstances for maybe fat-shaming?

Oh yeah I forgot I saw one with Jess Sims. I am guessing they had to keep some people back for coverage on classes. We didn't see Matt or Denis either right? Or Christine, Kendall, Olivia?

I asked one of cousins what her pace was for our relay and she said 8'40"! My other cousins on the team seem pretty chill about we're just there at the race to have fun and we're not trying to win, but I'm just like, "Sorry I suck guys!!!" They have all been running for years so guaranteed I will be the slowest there! At this point I just wish I could run faster because I want to be done running quicker 😆 It's been so hot outside that if I don't make it out by 6:00 I need to do a treadmill run and it feels like it takes twice as long on a treadmill!

To add to the Peloton gossip Ben and Leanne are engaged!! So sweet.
Ally’s wedding looked amazing.
Sorry non Peloton people!!
Anyway workout done. I’ve been so stressed and not motivated but a workout helped. 30 minute ride and 10 minute legs/glutes. Food has been awful. Meh.

If it’s the latter, I would try really hard to not worry about it. I’ve been running for a decade and have done one full marathon and probably 15 ish half marathons and my pace is similar. I think we all have a natural speed and we can improve upon it, but it’s a super slow process and can cause a lot of stress, both physically and mentally, if we worry about it too much. A mile is a mile, running is running. You’re really only competing with yourself and you’re kickass for getting out there and doing it!

I did a relay race with a bunch of friends years ago. I subbed onto their teams was the slowest one. Two of them were sub-8 hour ironman finishers and one had a pro card for triathlon. They were all running 5-7 minute miles. I ran 11 minute miles. They probably would have won if I hadn't been on their team, lol. I was newly pregnant and fresh off a 6 month running hiatus from an injury, so I was a hot mess. I'm doing my long run tomorrow and already dreading just how long time wise it takes. And how much shorter it would be if I was faster. Alas.

And here I was thinking that a 10-minute mile was a pretty good pace! But I'm not now nor have I ever been a runner, so shows what I know.

I've been running for 21 years and over the years I've run anywhere from 7 minute miles to 14 minute miles and everything in between depending on life and circumstances. It's all good!

I don't really have a previous pace because I've never run before. At this point it is what it is, I'm not going to kill myself to increase my speed the next 4 weeks. I already shared my pace with the group and they're like, "We're just going to have fun!" which I do think they mean honestly, as they invited me knowing I'm not a runner. I'll just do my best - all I can ask of myself!

I don't know how or where I got it, but for some reason I had it in my head 10 minutes per mile was my "start." Based on nothing and not running at all the past 10 years. No clue where I got that in my head!

Has anyone else been following Ally Love's wedding stuff on IG? It looks like a real dream wedding. I love how casual but also elegant and sexy her dress was. And everyone just seemed so happy. Yes! She is so gorgeous but just seems like a really fun person. I confess seeing the photos of some of the instructors makes me worry that other instructors who didn't get invited are feeling left out, is that stupid? Like as if these are people I actually know! Omg I had this exact same thought lol. I was wondering if the other instructors left behind in NYC were feeling left out. Its probably not that deep!

Ally’s wedding dress was pretty but I’d dissolve into a pool of sweat with that much fabric in the summer. I loved her reception dress though.
And I loved the Ben and Leanne proposal photos because they got to have the actual proposal fairly privately it seemed and then took their posed photos after. I love them because their IG stories on the weekends are generally them doing fairly boring stuff.

Hey! I fell out of the thread in July but I'm still here, still going. I earned the Summer Launch badge on Peloton by taking a class every day in July. That led me to take my first sleep meditation, which I really loved. I'll do more. And today I started the last week of the beginner strength program.

I've been following Ally's wedding weekend on Insta. So many fun festivities planned for their guests and Ally in all those pretty white dresses, gorgeous! I've also been watching Ben and Leanne's stories and I was sure we'd see a ring before the trip was over. I enjoy their cute goofy romance. Happy Birthday goldenbird !! 6 miles biked for me today.

I may or may not have given up on None 2 Run. The intervals were supposed to be 2:30 running and :30 of walking and it’s just too much stop and go. I threw it out the window and just ran for 20 minutes. That was so much more enjoyable. I did slow way down because now I’m paranoid about injuring myself lol. Came home and did 20 minutes of shoulders. I accidentally smacked my toddler in the face with a weight when she walked into it while I was doing lateral raises. Am I a bad parent for laughing? She’s fine but I keep telling her to watch out, and, well…
