Hey everyone! Killing per usual I see.
My August goals are to incorporate at least 10 mins of core everyday. Continue on speed and making healthy food choices.
The past 3 days we were at the beach and i ran each day. Yoga and 10 min core this morning. Will try to fit in a walk on the tread later; kids are at work with me. Tomorrow we take off for SC.

I decided to try to use the HCOTF calendar so I added slow flow Yoga yesterday after my ride and just did 10 min core with Rad and 10 min G&L with him as well. I’m in terrible shape 🥵 so I don’t know if I can do another 20 minutes of lower body at the moment. I’ll hopefully add a ride this evening though. B: Super big coffee, I’m terrible at breakfast. L: Homemade Ramen S: Currently sitting at the kitchen table eating an Orange and regretting many life decisions. budders said she just does the two ten minute strength workouts from HCOTF, the core and whatever the other one is for the day. I thought this was an excellent strategy. The whole HCOTF workout is too much for me.

Hello! I woke up at 6:00 and ran four miles, followed my a mile walk. It felt good! Yesterday I did a 20 minute pop ride with Cody. It was good!
I’ve noticed that several people mention sleep issues (not related to babies waking you up). Has anyone here ever tried CBT for insomnia? I’ve started it recently and wondered if anyone else has done it.

Cardio (stair stepper, row, and bike) done + abs.
B- egg and toast with spinach and a little feta L- caprese quinoa salad D- pad thai. Kids have a sports activity tonight so I'm going to make dinner about 4:30/5:00 which really helps me not to snack (which is my downfall.)

Guys, I freaking love my nutrition coach. So I do a check-in every other Sunday and then he will go through things and respond back (usually with an audio file). Like the first 5 minutes was him going on about how I was doing everything right and exactly how he would have asked for it. I was having a shit attitude day (in case that wasn't clear in my response about the goal setting) and fuck that helped. It almost made me forgive him for taking away 130 calories. Squats went well last night. I did find some things on setting goals for lifting and basically it was go ahead and set the lofty goal but have it still be reasonable. Like me setting a 1,000 lb squat goal would be silly. 600? Reasonable. Start by addressing process issues that are holding it back. My bracing has been trash for several months, so I tried a couple things last night and found something that was working for that. So I'm going to roll with that and see if it continues to be the right fix. For the strength fixes, my lifting coach is all over those, so that's covered. My butt continues to be an ass and come up while I'm benching. Ugh.

Proud of myself. Sick toddler, so both kids home while we both worked yesterday, but we did some walking, and I also did the Flash 15 I skipped this weekend after the kids went down last night. That is not my normal workout time, so I was impressed that it happened.
I got up this morning and did 30 minutes of yoga live with Aditi, and it was great! Still home with both kids today, so I am going to take at least the one on a stroller run in a few minutes here before it gets too hot, then I'll figure out food for the day!

I'm reading this book about motivation, since it's incredibly applicable to me both personally and professionally right now. Based on that, my August goal is -5 lbs and my steps to get there are: 1. 2-3 meals a day (reasonably balanced, I know what that means so I feel comfortable being vague here) 2. Fruit or veggie snacks--no junk (chips/dip, candy if it's around) 3. Movement that supports the above. Being here and having more energy and less pain, and hence, less desire to shove my face in the afternoon, makes me wonder if I am overdoing the workouts at home since my daily life involves a ton of walking on concrete. I'll have to muse on this.
I will likely swim this afternoon.

Hi! Yesterday was a complete rest day since we were traveling. Today I did: - 10 minute core with Rad - 10 minute lower body with Rad - 30 minute lower body with Rad - 30 minute Broadway run with Jess King (the music was great! I took the run pretty slow since my legs were dead but it was still fun)

potatocakes hope your kiddos are feeling better soon and that your remodel goes smoothly. I wanted to mention that when we did ours I bought an electric burner. It was about $15 at Target. It was nice to be able to boil water and cook a few things in the house when we didn't want to grill or use microwave/crockpot. soiree congrats on meeting your July goals! moosemom glad your spring tri went pretty well, and really cool that your girls did it too! Yesterday was full of activity: 1 hour of kayaking 7 miles biking 1 mile walking

Had my sprint tri on Sunday. It went pretty well considering I didn’t do much to prepare this month. The swim took 8 minutes and I averaged about 20 mph on the bike and ran a 9:45 pace on the run. My run should be better than that but I didn’t do anything to prepare. My older girls raced too and did great. They pushed each other to not walk on the run. Fun morning. I’m at my grandma’s for a couple of days before heading to my mom’s so no workouts until Thursday. Eating isn’t the best either but I’ll get back to my routine next week. Congrats on a solid race! And yay for your girls doing it too!

Hello all!
I'm back to my normal routine of 30(ish) minute sessions vs doubling up cardio/strength since 30 minutes of running + 30 minutes of strength was just too tiring for me, although I do fine with a shorter strength session (10-20 minutes after a cardio session). 60 minutes is just too long for me.
Anyway, I did Week 6, Day 1 of You Can Run. I was able to get outdoors this time and although it was warmer than I would like (mid-70s) for running, it was nice to get outside although I plan to keep mixing it up and will likely do my other session on the tread. I mean, no offense to Becs, who is lovely, but Adrian is next up and I like to look at his pretty, pretty self. Whatever gets you through the workout, right?
I really loved the workout today (honestly there hasn't been one I haven't liked so even for you seasoned runners, I highly recommend using these as recovery runs although some will push you). Case in point, today's session was about pace and we did 5 minutes at marathon pace (which I've never run but I stayed in the mid-12s), 4 minutes at half-marathon pace (which, again, have never run further than 9 miles but a half IS on my bucket list - I stayed in the mid-11s), and 3 minutes at tempo pace (I was in the upper 10s to low 11s). I felt like that was pretty good for my first go at this.
I did one of my perennial favorites - Adriene's Post-Run Yoga - for a cooldown/stretch.

Afternoon.
I got in 5 miles to a 45 minute tempo run with Becs. Followed it up with a 20 minute upper body with Rad and I still have 20 minutes of yoga stacked for tonight.
Food will be tighter today. I had a protein bar and protein shake for late breakfast. About to eat a salmon and spinach sandwich on whole grain bread. Dinner will be stuffed peppers. Snacks are going to be Greek yogurt and a mango and strawberry smoothie. Hopefully I can cap myself there. We'll see.

Hello! I’m stepping back in this month, only partially. I am not even 2 weeks pp, so I am not thinking about working out yet, but I am ready to get my nutrition back on track. It was never too far off track or anything. But I can tell the nursing hunger is here, and I get really hungry at about 8 pm. I think I need more protein earlier in the day to help balance. I did make a yummy dinner last night with some Lillie Eats and Tells recipes. I made this flank steak which was a big hit: lillieeatsandtells.com/rosemary-garlic-flank-steak/And this summer cucumber and corn salad with cucumbers from our garden, and leftover corn on the cob. It is SO good. lillieeatsandtells.com/sweet-summer-corn-and-cucumber-salad/We had watermelon and grilled bread to go with it. A friend dropped off some jalapeño cheese bread from a local bakery so I slathered slices with olive oil and threw them on the grill. Delicious.

Also when I go I always scope out the options because sometimes they have super discounted ones that need to be sold that day or tossed. I’ll grab those and make it our dinner that night 🤤

Leg day with my trainer today, and wooooof. We went heavy on the leg press which was great but also tough. I have really been noticing results in the way my body composition is changing though, which pleases me. My c section shelf gets just a little smaller and tighter each week.

July did not go as planned. Now that the weather is nice, it's so hard for me to do something on the weekends because I would rather just be hanging out outside. When we were stuck in the house during the winter and spring, it was much easier. My August goal is to get back to working out on the weekends and making that 'me' time a priority. Beyond that, I'm just planning to continue with increasing my amount of running and working with PT.

Yeah they are. $8 for one that had a serving of fish and a serving of veggies. But I get 10% off since it's a store brand item. Not cheap to buy 2 for MH and I but cheaper than a lot of takeout.

This week is not shaping up to be very productive for working out. I have a "sick" kid at home (sick enough not to go to camp, not sick enough to not annoy the crap out of me) and my girls have cheer practice late Monday/Tues/Wed. So I am trying to be at least kind of on track with eating.

I had a good weekend relaxing with family. It was a long weekend so today is my Monday. I had a couple meetings but managed to do more than I was expecting and H and I also fit in a walk.
30 min 90s Pop ride w/Emma 10 min Full Body Strength warm up w/Olivia 30 min Body Weight Strength w/Matty & Olivia 10 min Full Body Stretch w/Matty
I started to do the Beginner Strength program today but there was so much talking I just wanted it to end. I will do day 2 again and see if it is the same, but I did not enjoy it.

I changed things up today and did a 20 minute walk + run and then a 20 minute power walk outdoors today on my lunch break. I'm still struggling to find the right route near my house, but I did ok. The weather is beautiful and I wore my cute shorts and felt good about it!
I've got the rest of today's HCOF stack lined up for after work. I see Ben is on the docket again. Please, no more jump squats!

I did end up adding a 20 min ride yesterday. Today I did 20 min core and then 10 min Arms. My butt is pretty bruised feeling so I’m going to skip the ride today but might add in some yoga later. I’m home with three little kids all day so I have to squeeze things in where I can. Hopefully I can have a regular workout time when our fall routine starts up.
B: Coffee L: Tzatziki Chicken Salad on a pita. I made this up on the fly but it was so good. I added some hummus and olives on the side. D: Chipotle bowl because my littlest is feeling better and is begging for it.
