1. She just pulled her sandwich crackers apart and ate the cheese from the middle of all of them before deigning to eat the crackers.
2. She's officially 18m!! It seems crazy, but it's true! She's doing really well in general. Her hitting seems to be better this week. She's super into spinning, trying to jump (she can't), and hiding under blankets.
3. No challenges with her, really, but I had to give our DCP 2.5 weeks notice today. IL's renewed their offer to watch her and we're so stressed financially right now, we had to accept. I'm super sad about it. I definitely cried when I told DCP.
QOTW: the first pet I remember was a dog named peaches. I have no idea what she was, but she was small with long, curly fur. Super sweet. I don't remember what happened to her, but I don't think we had her for long. 🤷🏻♀️

1. Today G kept doing everything I told him not to do and it was getting on my last nerve. I told him no for the thousandth time while he threw wipes around the room, and while I went to throw those away, he took my spot on the couch and was laughing when I turned around. He thought it was the funniest thing ever.
2. We met DH for lunch after G's 2 year well check and he said bye dada when we left. He also said hi over the phone to DH, which he never does. It was cute.
3. We've hit two milestones that I'd rather skip over. He's super clingy lately, throws a huge fit if we even attempt to put him down. There's been a lot of yelling on his end lately. He's also hit a defiant streak and I'm over it. DS1 just hit that stage at age 4, I'm not liking what the next few years will look like with G hitting it much earlier.
QOTW - I know we had several cats and some dogs, but my first real pet that I treated as such was a calico cat named Katie. She was so pretty and always with me. When we moved across town, she got out and we lost her. 2-3 weeks later, I took a different route home from the bus and saw her at a house directly behind mine. She didn't know me anymore by that point and the people wouldn't give her back, despite our number being on her tags. I'm not even a cat person, but that one was special.

1. What hilarious thing(s) did your tot do this week? (Give us a laugh!) She's learned how to "throw fireballs." It's so fucking cute. She pushes her arms out in front of her and makes a weird staticky sound for a couple seconds. I love it. 2. What made you go aww? (Happy things here!) We've been working on night weaning. The other day she woke up and was fussy because she had been sleeping on my arm but I had to move it and she really wanted to sleep on my arm. And the more upset she got the harder it was to console her without nursing. Finally, H woke up and I told him she wanted to sleep on my arm, so he offered his. She has NEVER let anyone but me help her go to sleep (even though that's the goal with night weaning) so I didn't actually think his offer would matter. But she cuddled up to him and was back asleep in like a minute! It was the best. 3. What made you want to crawl back into bed? (Challenges go here!) Not much, honestly. It's been a pretty good week. The hardest was tonight. She took an almost 3 how nap when she usually only naps for about an hour. She didn't go down for bed until after 11. I was sooo sleepy. 4. Share a pic from the week, if you please!

1. G had a teepee in his playroom. When my best friend came to visit he insisted she sit in the teepee with him and read him books. It was cute, and she was more than happy to do it.
2. He's talking so much more now. And we finally have him saying please and thank you. And hearing him say thank you daddy or mommy makes my heart melt. I love it.
3. He's certainly been testing his boundaries lately. Or just pushing buttons to see how much he can get away with and it's making me crazy.
QOTW: it was a dog named Scotty. She was a mutt that my parents rescued from the pound. So I'm not sure what breeds she was, the guess was a collie/terrier mix. She was the sweetest dog and we had her for 14 years.

1. He giggles when he toots. Also, he will sit on the potty and say "I pee! I pee!" Cracks me up.
2. He's into hugs lately. He will say "hug!" and wrap his arms around my or my husband's (and sometimes the dog's) neck. Kills me!
3. He's been waking up at night very upset, and the only thing that will calm him is me or DH going in to comfort him. Not so bad at 10 pm. Less fun at 2 am.
QOTW: My mom was convinced I was allergic to fur (we currently have two dogs and two cats - go figure) so the only pets I was allowed growing up were fish and, once, a parakeet. The parakeet's name was Lucky and he'd sit on my shoulder and eat food out of my hand.

1.) Hilarious moment? Okay, just tonight A was playing in the bathtub and he had his back to me. I wanted his attention so I called out his name. No response. Repeated his name. Nothing. Finally, he slowly turns his body and head around to look at me a la Jigsaw from Saw with this goofy looking smile on his face and holds still. MH & I lose it laughing and A joined in, giggling away. It was both the creepiest and funniest thing he's done lately! 2.) Aww moment? He is very lovey in the evenings when we read stories. He climbs in my lap and strokes my arm while I read. 😍 3.) Challenge? The everlasting stage of holding still to change is so daunting. Diapers take so freaking long. I dread bedtime. Do they make nightgowns for boys? I'm so done with long johns or footie jammies! QOTW: my first pet was my parents' German Shepherd, Magnum. He was such a good dog. He protected me too hard when I was a baby and ended up injuring someone who got too close. He ended up having to be rehomed. 😢
