Going off the other threads that have started recently, what are the items that are going into your hospital bag? So far, I've got:
Our pillows A lightweight black robe Nursing nightgown Nursing bras 2 days of nursing tops and comfortable bottoms Dark undies (hospital undies are so uncomfortable) Eye mask House slippers Chapstick Large water bottle Camera, extra battery, extra memory card Lotion Lanolin Essential toiletries Miralax (pain meds make it hard to use the restroom) Boppy for breastfeeding Phone charger with extension cord Baby's take home outfit and a couple onesies, hats, socks, and mittens

I feel like a semi-minimalist when it comes to the hospital bag.
Couple pairs of comfy clothes for me (will be there 3-4 days with a section) and a bra Outfit for me to wear home Basic toiletries Contacts case/glasses A few snacks Slippers Coming home outfit for baby Hospital hats for baby Phone charger + extra battery stick
That's pretty much it! I'll use the hospital pillows for nursing, our hospital provides those huge mugs for water (I am a fish and have been known to double fist the hospital mugs of water 😂).

Oh and definitely lip balm and a few makeup items, probably just moisturizer and mascara.

This reminds me I need to get me some nursing bras! Do you ladies prefer those with or without underwire?? I have two and have the non wired ones. When I tried some wired vs non-wired ones the one time I tried things on in the store, non wired was so comfy to me. But, you should try both on and see. I just ordered some more from Amazon, hoping they fit okay.

muscari I much prefer the look and support of the wired ones, but when I was really struggling with breastfeeding DS1, I found the wireless ones were easier bc the cup stayed down whereas the wired ones kept flipping up and getting in the way while he was nursing. I'm going to initially try to do the wired ones this time, though. I also love, love the nursing tanks that you can wear over the bras. I usually wear nursing bra, nursing tank, and then normal tee over that since I didn't want to have to buy a full set of nursing tops and don't love most of the styles anyway. This is ridiculous, but I am seriously considering bringing an air mattress for dh to sleep on if he stays overnight (if there is room and they allow it). My hospital's guest cots are ridiculously uncomfortable, and poor dh barely slept at all last time. He's a head achy grouch with interrupted sleep, and I don't want to deal with that, lol. Last time I remember wishing I had brought a baby book to put his footprints in, my makeup since we do new born pics in the hospital, my shampoo, and more than one pair of comfy clothes. Snacks are good too, mostly for after delivery. Last time the cafeteria had closed by the time I delivered, and I was ravenous.

I'll probably just bring clothes to go home in and my necessary toiletries. Snacks and phone charger, too. I'll probably pack last minute. But, we should buy a few snacks and drinks to take.
Last time I brought pillows, because we had extra ones and just left them when we left. I didn't change into clothes when I was there and I didn't use my blow dryer or flat iron. H will also come home at least once a day, so he can always get something I want.

So for nursing bras, it's recommended to get soft cup ones to use until your supply stabilizes. Wearing a wired bra that's too small can cause clogged ducts, not to mention be super uncomfortable.

Motherhood was having a sale on nursing gowns so I just bought 2. Thanks for the suggestion! They seem comfy and not sure why I never had any before

I packed a ton last time and used none of it. One thing I didn't bring was presentable clothes for pictures. Not sure how many of you are doing this but we had a bottle of wine we drank at night. I am pretty sure the nurses knew but left us alone.

I am pretty sure the nurses knew but left us alone. I didn't think of the bottle of wine last time around, but I have these cute mini bottles this time. I told DH I don't care how he does it but he is sneaking them in for me! Will I get a chance to drink them, who knows, but we are gonna bring anyway.

I have not actually packed my bag yet but this is my list so far:
- Treats for nurses - Baby clothes to go home in (one NB and one 0-3 months size) - Nursing gown & robe - Nursing bras & tanks - Leggings/yoga pants - Light makeup and chapstick - Toiletries & hair stuff (including hair clips & ties) - Pillow (the pillows that I used the last time sucked) - Water bottle w/ straw (very important during labor) - Phones (including work phone to keep my boss updated), charger & extension cord - Good camera (for my husband to take nice pictures) - Flip flops & socks with the tread stuff on the bottom - Husband toiletries and clothes (he can figure this out but I need to remind him) - Nursing pillow (I use My Breast Friend) - Extra bags to bring home hospital loot - Prenatal vitamins - Snacks - Brother/sister presents (she got him a lovie and I bought her a "Big Sister" bracelet that her baby brother "got" for her) - Nipple cream - Underwear (although I mostly won't need this b/c I will wear the mesh undies the hospital provides) - Muslin baby blanket

This is a c&p from a thread we had on PAIF, but it is my list. Keep in mind, I'll be in there for at least 3 days. I don't think I overpacked too much last time, but I've definitely narrowed the list this time around.
For Me: 3 Outfits (maternity leggings & nursing tanks) -- I wasn't a fan of wearing my gown past day 1. I wanted into "normal" clothes. I'd already been in it for 2 days for the induction, tho. Slip proof socks -- hospital provides some, but I want my own Robe -- wore this A LOT last time Nursing bra Bamboobies Going Home Outfit (prob. loose sundress or some other maternity clothes w/ easy boob access) Flip flops Belly binder -- I liked the one they put me in post-op last time, but just in case. Toiletries Shampoo/Cond. Straight fix brush & reg. hair brush Blow dryer Frizz ease Dry shampoo Body wash & mini poof Toothbrush/toothpaste Makeup Extra hair ties Hair band Makeup remover/face wipes
For Baby: Packed diaper bag, to include: Going home outfit Swaddle sack A+A swaddle blanket Car Seat (left in car, obv)
Misc. Refillable water bottle Purse Prenatals -- Idk if they offer these or not, but I prefer my own. Gift from baby to TT -- we are getting TT a Bitty Baby for the new baby to give her, so she will have her "own baby" to bring home from the hospital, too. She's in a hayuge baby doll phase. Boppy -- I used the hell out of mine. This is personal preference. 2 pillows from home -- best. decision. ever. I got to feel/see the hospital pillows during our tour, and they were basically 2-ply. SO glad I brought my own. Cell charger w/ long cable cord Fan -- I need this to sleep, in general. Fire Stick -- this was great during my induction, but also for background noise and whatnot.

This is what I brought that I used:
Robe Slippers Yoga ball (I bounced and swayed on it during contractions it was helpful) Outfit to go home in Vaseline for dry lips during labor Brought lollipops but they wouldn't let me eat them Outfit for baby Charger Shower stuff Gym shorts for H- he slept for the 1st 2 hours so he was happy to have comfy clothes. The cafeteria was open in the mid of the night so he didn't need to brong food
T shirt, shorts to sleep (I didn't expect night sweats but they wereso bad, wish I brought more to change into)
Hospital provided nipple cream, all post delivery pads, underwear, soothing spray, prep H (omg thank you for that), pumping stuff
*baby wasn't in the room with me so I don't know if I would have needed any blankets or bibs but I didn't use any that I brought, just a blanket to bring her home in
I brought a coloring book but that wasn't happening lol I couldn't even watch tv with the contractions. But if you have an induction I'm sure that would keep you occupied. I didn't use half the stuff I brought

I started to pack my bag today! So far it had some underwear and two nursing camis. And some headbands to hold my hair back bc it it gets in my face I will scream haha. Idk what to do as far as a going home outfit for me- a dress? Just a tshirt and shorts? I wear the same shirts and shirts over and over so those can't be packed til last minute... and I need to wash my nursing gown - and maybe buy another one? Idk 🤷🏻♀️
Repeat moms- Did you guys bring baby's stuff in his own bag or just in with yours?

I packed it all together last time, but this time I think I will pack it separately in his diaper bag bc last time everything was so jumbled.

Not sure what s wrong with me! Honestly I hadn't done anything but was feeling the urge to do SOMETHING, so throwing some camis in felt successful, haha. It's nowhere near packed, but oh well. I just left the bag open on the floor in the corner of the room so worst case I just throw everything in there and zip it and waddle away.

addymac, pennylane, I feel so unprepared and like a huge slacker (though part of the reason why we aren't as finished/prepared as we would like are good reasons like breaking my ankle and that kind of crap LOL) and then especially when I see finished nurseries and read about packed bags and what not I'm like "Shit!" but it's good to read i'm not the only one who is apperently behind on certain things a little

I remembered today that we want to take baby wipes. This will be a different hospital, but the last one only gave us gauze things to wipe the baby. It was a pain to wet them before changes.
Also, we will be taking a SwaddleMe. H went home last time to shower and brought one. F trying to learn to swaddle. We swaddled T for five months and she was such a good sleeper - we don't want to let baby get used to poor swaddling.

bsouls +1 to bringing a SwaddleMe. I love those things. Swaddling with a blanket exceeds my level of coordination. I also haven't packed anything and not 100 percent sure where in the house the infant carseat is. Maybe this weekend.
