grumpycat, I have never seen those mini Tonka trucks at my Walmart. I feel cheated! lily, what's the hate toward play food? Is it just that they hide it around the house? I crocheted a bunch of play food for K during the winter. Since it's soft and squishy it's easy to just shove in a toy bin if I want it out of the way. It might be CAT brand. I've seen them at Target too! In like a 6 pack lol.

sheilathetank I keep finding play pasta in my shoes, for example. DS doesn't do this with other toys, but play food gets squirreled away everywhere.

HIT: -The book Mighty, Mighty Construction Site. I picked up cheap on Prime Day and it's DD's new fav. She's in a machine phase. -A foldable stool. Perfect for DD to set up in the kitchen to "help" me cook but easy to get out of the way. -The Fisher Price Plane and School Bus. They have been daily hits in our house for many months now. -These muffins. www.superhealthykids.com/sweet-spinach-muffins/ So easy to make and I even think I could cut the honey in half next time. And amazing for busy mornings to pull out of the freezer for DD's breakfast. -First Years Take and Toss food storage cups. The tiny ones are the perfect size for toddler portions and having colored ones makes it easy for me to keep DD's stuff separate from all the other containers always in my fridge. (I do not toss because why.) -A cheap wading pool. My kid hates sprinklers but the pool is her jive. MISS: -Reusable pouches. I had visions of making my own but I need a better blender. They sit unused now. -The Kid's Kindle Fire. Hate that thing. -Eyelike Animal Sticker Books. I can't get the stickers out without ripping them, how is a kid supposed to. -Water table (only this summer, last summer she adored it).

jewel is kindle unlimited worth it? I'm a speed reader and I hate waiting for library holds to come up. I also indulge in the historical romance novel every now and again.

So for me it is, but it depends on what you read. There are a lot of books on there that would literally never be published if it weren't for this... I am a speed reader too. They have like some old best sellers, nothing on the current list, classics, and a lot of romance, sci fi/fantasy, chick lit, etc... light reading. I think you can try it for a month for free before you commit, you can also cancel it any time obviously. There are so many books it can be difficult to navigate. I find it's easiest to search the store for something I liked (even if it wasn't unlimited) and then look at the recommendations/others bought based on that.

I'm thinking I will start with the free trial and do it at least over the next few months to see if it's worth it. Thank you for the information!! I've already read a few through prime reading and then saw that the next in the series is available on kindle unlimited so I think it will work out well.

I read a lot, and could easily blow all my money making small book purchases. I have used it enough that the "recommended for you" list is usually right, so I rarely browse beyond that these days.

I thought of something I hate. We cut my parents' lawn when they're away (which is frequent) and they have this Black and Decker electric mower. That thing is such a piece of crap! It doesn't carry enough charge to get through both the front and back lawns and it's so weak it will actually stall if the grass is even a little bit overgrown.

The RNP saved my life. I couldn't put V down for the first several days after he was born, he refused to lay flat. Someone recommended the RNP and we bought one immediately. He never slept as long or as much as a baby should, but at least I could put him down.
I found the Moby wrap to be a waste. It was probably user error, but I could never get it secure enough, and I always felt like it was too loose after 5 minutes. LOVE our lillebaby carrier.
I'll come back if I think of more.

360 cups were also a bust for us. V loves throwing stuff and they were always spilling.

budders I am so happy you like the lillebaby. We just ordered the lillebaby airflow complete for the baby we are expecting in October. We live in such a super hot place (year round) - I'm excited to see how much cooler it will be than the carriers I used with DS.

We have loved The First Years cups. They never spill and it's a one piece lid, so they're easy to clean. ETA: madamewaffles (I thought I replied to you, but I just posted separately)

robot, why do you hate the kid's kindle fire? We just got one and while it's not the most amazing thing in the world, so far it's kept K entertained (for like 4 minutes at a time because that's her attention span)

sheilathetank, I only recently started shopping at Dressbarn and I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't go there sooner. Clothes that are cut well, seem to be made well, AND they write my name on the door when I'm trying clothes on? I went on Saturday and got so many deals it was insane. I really needed to throw out about half or more of my wardrobe and replace it and I was able to do so with all my discounts over a couple of trips. Dressbarn for lyfe.

Loves: RnP -- it's the only way E would sleep. She hated being flat. No reflux that we noticed but she would not sleep flat in a bassinet! Crayola Sidewalk Chalk Gerber cups -- they're the only ones that haven't spilled for us. How Does a Dinosaur Say Goodnight (OMG she makes me read this so many times a day but it's adorable so I don't mind) Llama Llama Red Pajama Alphabet Blocks -- got them for $2 or $3 in the cheap Target area by the front door Cloth diapering. Hands-down best decision we made (for us) about having a kid. Hates: 360 cup. Loved it at first then she kept throwing them and I keep finding milk spots everywhere in my house months later. Lillebaby. I know, I know. I wanted to love it. I wanted to BW and do the whole crunchy mom thing. It was tedious for me to put on and E is a hot, hot kid. She hated being worn. She just hated it. Then my cat peed on the thing so it's done now. Old-fashioned nursery rhymes. I hate them so much.

fuzzylogic, we received a book set of all the "traditional" nursery rhymes somewhere, I think at my shower, and DS pulled it off his bookshelf finally a couple months ago and insisted we read it (we had basically just ignored it up until then). After reading some of the actual rhymes - I forget which ones specifically, but I remember one about a boy not saying his prayers being beaten, we have since "lost" the books - some of them were horrifying!

jillywilly, some of them are pretty terrible. Lots of children getting beaten, heads chopped off, etc. That's not the part that bothers me. They're mostly just ASININE and I know they're to help kids count and rhyme and stuff, but they are just dumb. They make no sense. Reading them annoys me. I have the very large book MIL got for E put away in a place that is totally obvious and safe for the book but E doesn't notice it lol. She hasn't asked for it in over a week. Dinosaurs rule!

I'm sorry I missed this post earlier. Make sure you get a dressbarn points card. After so many points you get $15 towards a purchase in store. I also signed up for their text messages and about once a week I get a code via text for deals in store and online. Usually upwards of 20% off. The last dress I bought I paid $9 for because of points and deals.

fuzzylogic, and jillywilly, I saved a bunch of my books from when I was a child and brought them out when we had K. Some of them are not... appropriate. The sad part is that they were my favorite stories as a kid. One of them is blatantly racist. One of my favorites "Bedtime for Francis" my mom tracked down and got recently. I was super excited to read it to K until I got to the spanking part. Like omfg why?! Now I have to censor most of my childhood which I can get away with pretty well until she starts to read.

MIL sent us llama llama Easter egg and wrote a dumb note on a page inside, which irritates the crap out of me. Don't deface books by writing in them (not on the inside cover, but legitimately on a page of the book)!
