Imagine if the murder hornets and cicadas had overlapping territories.

Imagine if the murder hornets and cicadas had overlapping territories. I think I'd place bets on the cicadas.

I mean, he can't be surprised. I'm sure his feelings are hurt, considering the last guy probably offered to rename the Lincoln Bedroom after him...

I can’t count on the last pic, but did any of the R senators attend? I counted 22 people, so 21 senators attended. According to Twitter (because I can't identify most on my own) it appears a few R's did attend. Sinema, however, did not attend. 🤔 Missing along with Sinema was Lummis (WY) and Hyde-Smith (MS)

Just a few tips with the heat that I have been told work but I am not an energy expert:
Those with ACs make sure you do a 6mo/12 mo check up to make sure your AC runs more efficiently. It also makes your machine last longer so win/win. And as always check your air filters to keep them clean.
We also keep less frozen products on hand during summer in case of outages. So we have frozen milk jugs with water to make our refrigerator/freezer not work as hard. I have a cooler with freezer packs that I use for kids snacks and drinks so they don't open the fridge all day.
The window blinds shut during the day is depressing but it does shockingly keep us 2-3 degrees colder. I wish I had an automatic sliding door for the kids to use because that is what always bites me hardest in the butt.

This sounds like something an angsty teenager would post on social media.

I can't read the article because paywall but I totally agree that being a mother and wanting a fulfilling career is still a difficult balancing act that men don't understand. lemondrop you bring up an excellent point re: fertility coverage. Unless you work for a progressive thinking employer, it is so cost prohibitive. When I was looking at my coverage as I started TTC for the twins, I was shocked to see that my insurance covers 100% of fertility treatments, including IVF, no deductible required. The coverage is through my H and his county government insurance is even better than mine. It's such a shame that it isn't universal. Speaking of my H's employer, I just found out today that he has Friday off in observance of Juneteenth. It made me annoyed that my county employer has not yet adopted it as a holiday, ha. Maybe next year? Since by then the federal holiday will be official (assuming the House doesn't fuck it up) and usually states follow federal holidays right? I assume if my state makes it a holiday for state employees, my county would follow suit. I wonder if it's something our unions will have to negotiate?

What a blessing for the attendees that she was absent.

POTUS on the tarmac 'Mitch has been nothing but NO for a long time, we'll see what happens.'
there was a very dramatic pause before he answered and it was funny because you could SEE the gears turning on how he was gonna answer.

I gotta get on the plane Reporter Its your plane you can stay however long you want
It would be SO FUNNY for the pilot to make an announcement like 'FINAL BOARDING CALL FOR POTUS, THE DOORS ARE CLOSING'
I mean I would laugh.

I will now require Biden to go back to the UK soon, gift the Queen a pair of aviators, and then humbly request the Queen wear them to inspect the troops or something.

I wondered that too but that also seems overly burdensome since that means a lot of different unions. It would seem to make more sense for ER and the Board to do it separately. But who knows. Our county is obviously much more mixed politically than Hennepin is. I might ask my coworker who is on our office's diversity and inclusion group if she has any thoughts on how it would get brought up.
