Warm Weekend

I think its supposed to be in the 90s here all weekend. What are everyone's plans!

Evie stayed with my dad and step mom at their camper at the lake last night. I took some cold meds and went to bed at 730. Woke up at 5. Not delightful.

We are going to pick out light fixtures this morning for the house. Then going down to the lake as well. Hoping my mom will take her boat out so we can actually go out om the lake instead of hanging out at the campsite. My brother is taking his boat,but I dont think there will be room for us too.

If the weather cooperates I want to get a little gardening done. Probably just a laid back day. Maybe go to the bakery.

M has gymnastics this morning and then we’ll go to the hospital to see baby Bo.

Our internet/cable went down last night and it is the end of the world. Lol. But for real, I won’t be able to work from home if I can’t get it up and running. And of course it’s the weekend.

I’m going to message my coworker in a bit to see if her H can work his magic for me.

I know it sounds obvious tgrimes, but did you try resetting your router?

Hello! I'm trying to catch up. It's been HOT this week. MH and the older two are camping in the U.P. so it's just been A and I. We may go to brunch/lunch with my mom today.

Morning. Dd had a birthday party this morning, partly at a play area in the dunes. Dh took and and after dd2 woke up from her nap, dd2, ds and I followed. We were there until 14.30, playing and walking, it was nice.

The rest of the day was lazy, the kids are enjoying a snack plate and Dh and I will have a charcuterie board for dinner, with a glass of wine. Oh and I got myself a new phone plan, my iPhone 12 will arrive Monday. I’m happy with the new phone, but always a bit scared something will go wrong with transferring all my photos and apps.

tgrimes oh no!!! Hope you can get it to work again! Otherwise I have one of those 4g things you can plug in to your laptop, so you don’t need wifi (my wifi is very shoddy at best) would that be an option?

Also help me out. I’m not a very assertive person. Today I was carrying dd in a wrap and one of the moms from dd’s birthday party touched her, not her head, but like het wrapped up back. I not good at just saying ‘please don’t do that’. Even pre COVID, I just do not like people getting that close to me (aside from people I know and love of course). How do you girls tackle this kind of stuff?

Morning. Sorry I haven’t been around in a few days. I have had a bad attitude so I wasn’t trying to complain about everything. Today seems to be better, attitude wise. I ran and picked up the fireplace for the basement this morning. I’m putting V down for a nap and then hopefully we can get working on doing some picking up and organizing to clear out the basement. This afternoon we are going to the lake with some friends because it’s going to be in the 90s. Later tonight the neighbors invited us to hang in their backyard to watch cruella. They have a projector thing and are going to try and project it on their fence.

nam2013 Ugh. You would think covid would have people more aware and asking if they can touch your baby. I’m bad at that too (not being assertive, too nice), but maybe after she reached you could have just stepped back and said something like- because she’s so small I’m being extra cautious in these covid times.

nam2013, I’m assertive af and even in those situations it’s hard to say something. If its a one off I wouldn’t worry, I think people are just magnets to cute babies bundled up. If its the same Mom then you can take a step back and place your hand over her back to intercept.

Morning.

It’s been a week; adjusting to MH being home, he’s getting a promotion and has to hand over his old job and start his new one at the same time, got his second vaccine shot and was tired all week. I went into the office yesterday and finally got a laptop, so it looks like our office will be doing a hybrid of WFH and office post covid life 🙌🏻.

We’re heading to my Moms right now to finish up the trailer and finally bring it home. FX it fits on our driveway, the neighbours will call the city for sure if it doesn’t.

This is what I usually do! I wrap my arms around her, which usually works, but today I had my hands full. I happened twice these last couple of days (not the say person). I think I’ll be able to more more relaxed once more people are vaccinated, but my age group (35-45) all just had their invite.

LOL.  yes.  We tried everything.  Eventually around 9 it started working again.  Praise be.

vino yes, we are in the process of getting bids and whatnot to get it finished finally. After it’s all done the big girls will go back down there. I don’t expect it to be a quick process though.

It's amazing weather, which is a nice change to all the rain we were getting at home.

I think tomorrow we are going to the zoo and to visit Grandpa's Garden.

Oh, fun little tidbit, the cleaning lady walked in on me half naked this morning. Awesome.

I think she means a hotspot. The school passed those out to some people during quarany because they were in bad wifi areas.

You're so sweet. He's doing really well. Radiation is done, chemo for a week each month. He's trying to get back into work. We are hoping things go well for awhile, but it's hard having the nagging feeling that it will come back (tumor is now smaller but there's no cure).

Hi hi! We had people come test for lead today, so I had to speed clean to get us into some level of acceptable level of organized. Looks like new windows and exterior paint trim is on the horizon 🥴. We also have the kids getting tested this week. Stupid old houses.

I took the big kids out and we went to REI randomly and it was the garage sale day - scored a new coat for N and a father's day vest for mh... forgetting that his email is on the receipt, so not exactly a surprise 🤦. I am going to reupholster our dining chair pads, and found some discount fabric that matches well. My mom hopefully has a staple gun for me to borrow so I don't need to buy one..

The cicadas are starting to die down, literally. There are dead ones everywhere. I can't wait to be outside without being anxious about them flying on me.

I think so. No tears Thursday and Friday, but he didn’t want to walk in. He’s still shy and getting used to it though.

tallb I need to do that with a bench I have. It’s an older piece from the ILs and the top is a pink suede. It’s a great piece, but needs to be updated to match out stuff.
