How far along are you? 27w3d
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Frustrated with weight gain. BP was a little high but their electronic meter sometimes does that. Usually they redo it manually but didn't today. No one seemed concerned so I didn't bring it up but wish I would have now in retrospect
What type of appt? Glucose test and regular checkup
How was it? Good - got the TDap shot which I wasn't expecting yet.
Any feels/vents/etc? I like the new OB, not as much as my other one, but if he had to deliver DD2 I'd feel at peace with it. He didnt rush the appt at all with my questions and he gives his honest opinion about things (we talked post-birth control options today) and I appreciate that.
Learn anything new? Apparently there's nothing I can really do to help the sciatic nerve pain but give birth.
Next appointment? In 2 weeks! Hard to believe we're at that point already!

How far are you 12w1d
When is your appointment? Thursday at 12w3d I have my n/t at MFM.
Feelings - I didn't do the NT w my boys so this is new but the good bloodwork results is making me less worried. I'm very excited to see the baby looking like a baby! I'm picking up my Doppler from my friend today because I want to (need to!) find the HB before this u/s. Hopefully the baby cooperates!

rebeccabunch - thanks for asking! I'm doing okay - still having contractions, at least 2-3/hour (more when I'm active). I go back tomorrow, so hoping I can get another check to make sure these aren't productive. I'm supposed to be going on a vacation next week across country, so I'll find out if that's possible, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Glad to hear you are hanging in there! I also have an irritable uterus and get BHs all day everyday starting in my teen weeks. Like you, it's never affected me in the past so it's a good reminder that things may change. FWIW, one of the MWs told me I was soft and a finger tip dialated at 29 weeks. The FFN was - but I delivered DS2 the day before my EDD. Hopefully things calm down for you and you can resume life!

How far along are you? 29+1
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? BH contractions and heartburn have picked up, but nothing too miserable. The only concern I have is the OB mentioning at my last appointment that I may need a c-section this time bc I had a 4th degree tear last time. This is different than what the other OB and a midwife have mentioned to me, so I'm not putting a lot of stock in it. I'm curious to get the midwife's opinion at my next appointment.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Thursday, check-up with the midwife (my favorite midwife!).

How far along are you? 28 weeks!
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Feeling less anxious as the weeks go by and gaining more confidence with the situation. Still worried about PTL and that I marginally passed 2/4 of the 3 hr glucose also the fact that I am unable to exercise or even walk for exercise!
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Routine OB.
How was it? Got my TDAP too and it's no joke! my shoulder is all sore. We also discussed my borderline situation and I asked about monitoring and OB agreed to it and referred a nutritionist/dietitician mainly because she could tell I was worried and it will help ease my mind.
Any feels/vents/etc? I feel frustrated due to physical inactivity but keep telling myself it's whats best so I need to just SUCK IT UP! I am getting a bunch of sewing done though so that feels good.
Next appointment? Tomorrow with a nutritionist.

Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? No concerns. Feeling ok in general, I just feel like I'm 9 months pregnant already and I can't imagine how I'll actually feel at the end.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? MFM for ultrasound tomorrow, OB and glucose test on Friday. TDap, too, I think.

How far along are you? 27w 1d
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Lower back pain and tired all the time, but otherwise doing OK.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Today I had my glucose test and my 28w checkup a week early. I'm going on vacation the first 2 weeks of August so they bumped up my 28w and 30w appointments to 27w and 29w.
How was it? Glucose went better than I expected - didn't get too sick from it. However, I gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks and now weigh the most I've ever weighed in my life. The nurse and OB didn't seem to think anything of that weight gain but ugh, definitely more than I feel like I should have gained in that timeframe.
Any feels/vents/etc? Other than being a bit stressed over my weight, I'm really hoping I pass the glucose test. Also can't believe I'm already at 2 week appointments.
Next appointment? Checkup in 2 weeks, unless I fail the 1hr and need to schedule a 3hr.

How far along are you? 26 weeks 5 days Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Feeling pretty good - just happy with each week my water doesn't break! Appt. update this week. What type of appt? I had my bi-weekly MFM checkup today. Ultrasound, Zika test, and cervix measurement. How was it? It went well! The doctor says he doesn't see a need for me to return to strict bedrest - yay! Modified bedrest can continue Cervix was closed and clocked in at 3cm in length. There was also less debris in the amniotic sac. Still a bit, but it doesn't look like a snow globe in there anymore. Amniotic fluid levels were good too. I still have a medium SCH which is next to the sac and could continue to weaken/digest the membranes, but no water breakage so far, which is awesome. Any feels/vents/etc? I wish the stupid SCH was gone, so we wouldn't have to worry about the blood "digesting" (as the doctor says) the amniotic membranes, but things look like they are improving. I'm going to keep drinking a ton of water and eating a high protein, high vitamin K, and high vitamin c diet in order to keep my membranes strong and get rid of that pesky SCH! Learn anything new? Not really. I hope I don't have Zika. I don't suspect anything, but they test each trimester here, because Zika is endemic in the country I live in. Next appointment? I go back on Aug 3rd for another routine MFM appointment and will get my TDAP shot then.

How far along are you? 27 weeks today
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? I feel okay, my stomach has been off all week so that's annoying. Wondering if some of it has to do with anxiety about the glucose test results. Baby has been less active but moving still, she feels like she shifted position a bit so I'm getting more pressure in my ribs. I will ask tomorrow to see if she can tell me how baby is laying.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Had my glucose test yesterday. OB appointment tomorrow- Rhogam shot and I'm sure I will find out the results of the glucose test. I don't remember when they do the tDAP at my office.

Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Glucose test
How was it? It went well. My drs office requires fading for the 1 hour, but I felt fine. My Dr had an emergency c-section, so I had a long wait after the test, by still felt OK. I hope that's a good sign!
Any feels/vents/etc? I start going every 2 weeks now so I feel like I really need to get on moving DS into his new room.
Learn anything new? Even though I feel so much bigger this time, I'm measuring right on track.
Next appointment? Aug 2

Taitai I had to get a Zika test because I went on a cruise to the southern Caribbean in January. I didn't realize it was so bad where you are! Zika has actually been around Southeast Asia for a really long time - like decades. It's considered "endemic" here, which basically means so many people have already had it - that the disease actually doesn't spread quickly at "epidemic" levels - which is riskier. Areas with epidemics of Zika, like Brazil, Singapore, Puerto Rico, are actually more risky for pregnant women than where I am, because you have a bunch of people getting newly infected and spreading it. In the country where we live, it's been around for decades...so most have caught it and are immune, which means the local population isn't having an outbreak. So the risk is there (hence the endemic rating), but not as bad as some other areas of the world. I still have to be really careful about avoiding mosquito bites though - as there is an elevated risk. It's also funny that during my first pregnancy here, Zika wasn't really on anyone's radar (in 2014/2015 it hadn't been linked to birth defects yet...at least not in the media), so nobody really worried or did anything about it. Never got tested....I never wore big spray or covered up. Good thing I didn't catch it then!

Back from my N/T scan. 8 am appts are the best.
All is well! Measurements look great. They put my Edd at 1/25 which is 4 days before LMP date. My other two u/s showed 1/26 and 1/27 so I'm guessing I'll be a few days earlier than what I originally thought.
I'm surprised I never did the N/T before. I didn't really how many other things they look at like the brain and the stomach, placenta location (up high, yay) umbilical cords entry etc. such a relief that things look like they are progressing as they should. I feel very lucky today.

How was it? Good! I actually had a few questions this time and the midwife answered them in detail. I just love her.
Any feels/vents/etc? She clarified some things the dr had told me at my previous visit and gave me a little bit of relief, regarding a necessary c-section this time around.
Learn anything new? There was a small trace of urine in my blood and that combined with my pains yesterday are signs of dehydration. So I have to up my water intake. I already get over 64 ounces per day, but she said to shoot for closer to 80. I also have to start iron supplements because it's a little low. And my fundal height measured 2 weeks ahead. I have an U/S in two weeks so I'm curious to see if that shows him measuring ahead too.
Next appointment? August 3rd - U/S and midwife checkup

Taitai, really really happy for you to hear your appts. has been so optimistic lately! Keep that bubs cooking! Also I wasn't aware that Singapore is at risk for Zika epidemic. I suppose they are "cleaner" than Msia. Interesting too that my parents are saying that they have noticed a rise in skeeter population in our village and seems like a lot more people we know have contracted aedes. I'm worried about my dad, he's back home now. We've always had them but it seems more rampant now. When I was growing up, we hardly had cases of them in my village which back then was surrounded by jungle vegetation which one thinks is ripe for skeeter breeding.

mkrupar, did you already meet with a nutritionist? I had a meeting with a nutritionist yesterday and we're going to keep track of my blood sugar for a couple of weeks first to see if there are any blaring alarms that it could develop later on into GD. So I've now got homework to track my meals and get to prick myself 4x a day meh! Thought I was done with needles! After 3 yrs of ivf! Ugh also not looking forward to calling insurance about covering all the testing supplies in regards to my "elevated" glucose level DX as opposed to actual "GD" Dx.

I met with the nutritionist yesterday. I got my testing supplies and guidelines from the nurse at the MFM on Friday, so I've been testing since then. The nutritionist basically flushed out the plan and based on what I've logged wants me to try to add 1-2 more carb selections to my meals. My numbers are fine, but she's concerned I'm not getting enough carbs. They don't want me going in to ketosis (burning fat and losing weight because of not consuming enough carbs to burn). The nutritionist said GD patients are under the strictest guidelines of all the types of diabetes because of the control needed for mom and baby.

Holy crap - I gained 7 lbs this month! I tend to eat okay but fruits/veggies just don't fill me up for snacks. So I add in peanut butter often. Guess I need to lay off the peanut butter! Yikes!

When I was growing up, we hardly had cases of them in my village which back then was surrounded by jungle vegetation which one thinks is ripe for skeeter breeding. Yeah - Singapore had one of the worst outbreaks in the world last year. I think it was due to the fact that the country controlled so well for mosquitoes, that they didn't have Zika there. But then some visitors from a country with a Zika outbreak brought it to Singapore, and the local population caught it like crazy. There was a point where there were 300 new cases popping up amongst pregnant women per month. Terrible. I think it is more under control now - they've done a great job of managing it. I love how organized Singapore is that way. The aedes mosquito is the worst - I hate them so much. They used to be only seasonal here, but with climate change, they are now a year-round occurrence. It really sucks. Dengue has been on the rise here too because of them being present year-round - I've already had dengue once (back in 2010) and don't want to get it again, as the mortality risks rise each time you get it. 😩

Taitai, oh no! Sorry that you've had dengue fever...that's frighteningly awful and terrible and that has been on the rise too. One of the worse viruses you can contract. So glad you recovered. I thought one would develop an immunity against that strain of virus but I suppose there are several strains. Such tiny destructive creatures skeeters are! I hate them! 😡 Yes. Singapore is very proactive in many facets of their governing and is very successful despite their lack of natural resources but their cost of living is outrageous.

I had my 28w appointment on Wednesday.
* chatted about my irritable uterus. She said to just pay attention to my body and call whenever things feel different. I'm all set to go on vacation next week, as long as I rest when I need to, hydrate, and move lots on the plane. * 1hr glucose test - failed. Boo. I go in for the 3hr test tomorrow morning * Rh- shot: check * thyroid levels re-checked: perfect, so no med adjustment needed * baby's hr is great, measured at 30w
So that's that.

I am terrible at checking in on the daily threads, I usually don't read until the evening and then it seems too late to chime in. The weekly feels more manageable, even though I am late this time too. How far along are you? 29+2 Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? I go back and forth between "how am I already 29 weeks?!?" and "11 weeks to go... October is soooo far away". And physically, it already feels like my lungs are being crowded out. So short of breath already. Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Cervical length ultrasound and regular OB with some lab work was on Tuesday. How was it? Fantastic. Cervix measured longer than at the last ultrasound! It didn't actually lengthen, just differed slightly because different technician. I was expecting another centimeter drop though so the results were a huge relief! Baby was also head down this time rather than breech. Any feels/vents/etc? Happy to just have one appointment next time, OB only. Learn anything new? Not really, but DH may have... he and DS came with since US was before lunch and appt after, so we hit the nearby McDs in between. Anyway DS was full of energy at the second appt and DH said "so this is why you don't really want to bring him by yourself". Yes. Exactly. Sometimes he is a little shy and clings... other times he is feisty. I don't want to take my chances if I don't have to. Next appointment? 3 weeks
