Ok so question. One of my friends has an Etsy shop and she has these tshirts that I love- “dream like Martin, lead like Harriet, fight like Malcolm…”
Would it be appropriate if I got one for my very white son? Or would that be appropriation? Or just bad taste?

I’ll find another shirt to buy to show my support.

mc13, for an option closer to Arlington, the Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa is also very highly rated. That's in Alexandria I 10/10 recommend any Kimpton hotel in the DC or Baltimore area

Does anyone have any recommendations for good Nintendo Switch games for 3rd grade and 1st grade? We are heading on a road trip back to the Midwest soon and I wanted to treat the kids to a good multi-player game that they can have fun doing together. We have Mario Kart and the old school Mario games.
Maybe that Mario 3D game or the Olympic one with Sonic?

I finished Starstruck. If you have HBO Max, I am whole-heartedly seconding richard’s recommendation. It is very easy to watch and enjoyable.

That dog was adopted. 😭 And another we applied for as well. The search continues.

I can't believe it's the last week of June. We are having a BBQ on Sunday for my parents and H's parents. It is the first meal anyone has had in our house since DD's birthday party last February. I am very excited. 😁

My family is coming to visit tomorrow and I’m not sure how that’s going to work since my mom and I are currently not speaking after a big fight over reproductive rights. So anyway, I stocked up on wine.

Stock up on that wine.

I’m cackling. There is a post on my nextdoor because there is a possible proposal for replacing a small golf driving range with high density housing and the NIMBY folks are losing their minds.
One person suggested the advice of a non profit that works with homeless cats should be sought because there are a lot of feral cats in the area. Homeless. Cats.
Someone else posted that while they appreciate looking out for wildlife, it was a new angle to take prioritizing homeless cats over homeless people. Three people liked that post - me, a local housing advocate, and my vet. At least I’m in good company. Lol.

They're like digital board games and each game takes about an hour to play, so would take up a good amount of time on the drive.

When our pool first opened in late May I saw one of the lifeguards hard-core flirting with this teenage girl and she was all ***blush and smile*** as she walked away every time they talked. It was adorable.
They're a couple now. It's so cute.
(The lifeguard is also a teenager, obviously)

Working on potty training DD2 and besides her going first thing in the morning, she then had 2 wet diapers in 30 minutes. And she doesn't care. I told H that she is stubborn like him.

We are in San Diego for a quick vacation. We have an Airbnb on the beach, groceries, and are having a low key week here.
As we drove into SD yesterday we had the windows down. One of my girls said: "Mom! It's COLD here!" My sweet AZ children need their sweaters - it's 72. 😂

Can I brag on my kid? I got a letter in today's mail saying that DS2 has been selected for accelerated instruction in reading and math <3 We used to really worry about his literacy skills and now he's crushing it.

lemondrop have you heard about the spitting cobra on the lose in a Raleigh neighborhood? I cannot imagine ::shivers:: YES. My H is doing a home inspection about a mile from there today, and decided to remind me last night that he sees snakes all the time in crawl spaces. DUDE WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME THAT. "It's ok, it's nocturnal". STILL NOT OK. Someone on my local decided to mention that female zebra cobras can produce eggs by themselves, too, so that's a neat 2021 thing to think about. (I don't know if that's true, but hell if I'm looking it up).
