Yesterday, after 402 days of not flying. My H went to work and flew a plane.
We have 13 days until summer camp begin and maybe I will get a teeny bit of my sanity back.

My kid is still in school until the 10th which is the latest I can ever remember traditional kids going (we also have year round). We're normally out by the 3rd.

I don’t hate it. But it is weird when everyone posts the last day of school pics and I’m like - yeah, we’ve got a month

I have less than zero motivation at work, which is not great since my boss is on leave and I’m acting this week. I’m hoping everyone manages themselves today lol.
I have a bachelorette in Savannah coming up in a couple weeks (small, all vaccinated). The woman hosting is going full on bachelorette. We have to bring props for multiple games. With the itinerary, she’s also included detailed outfits we’re supposed to wear. I’m just very grumpy about it. Why can’t we just hang out and drink? Most of us haven’t seen each other in over a year and have plenty to catch up on.

We still have a couple of weeks of school. I'm starting our household transition into summer now though because, pool. (I just mean in terms of organization, etc. The kids are fully expected to be engaged in their class work through the last day)

Happy June! Today is my wedding anniversary and we're going on a winery picnic. This is also the month that my children re-enter polite society. My big kid will go to preschool for eight weeks as a bridge *sob* to kindergarten. And my littlest will start at the home daycare we have loved since 2017. We have missed our DCP tremendously.

These next two weeks are going to either drag or fly, and I'm hoping for the latter.
Between dd2's bday tomorrow, then field day for school, dd1's graduation rehearsal, baccalaureate, graduation luncheon party here, and the actual graduation- this week alone is busier than we've been in many months. Then next week is the last week of school.
I'm already tired.

My 8 year old cried this morning because he was so sad at the thought of the school year being over and having to leave his 2nd grade teacher. We had to resort to funny cat videos to cheer him up enough to actually get ready to go to school.
I would happily send him to school all summer if they let me!

My kid said he hates effing Memorial Day because apparently it means his class has to skip their day on the playground structure (due to covid social distancing rules). What a start to the week.

I can get on with a themed outfit, but detailing exactly what I have to wear and then having to bring props is a bah humbug for me. I would do it because I'm a people pleaser, but I'd be bitching about that to anyone within hearing distance lol.

I bought my toddler a training toilet. He's been interested in staring at my H when he pees, so we're running with it. I'm under no illusions that he's going to PT at 2y1m. He sat completely naked on the potty watching *cough* Schlippi *cough* yesterday for about an hour, did absolutely nothing, got rediapered and immediately pooped. BRO.
Aaaaaand that was the most excitement we had over here during the long weekend, lol.

Whoops double post. dc2london what’s the transition to summer entail? I am about to have my kids home and I need to not go nuts with mess. Everything in the coat closet moves to an upstairs closet and the coat closet gets filled with floats/noodles, a fold up wagon, pool towels, the sunscreen bin, etc. Pool towels come out of space bags. Backpacks go to bedrooms and coverups/goggles go on the backpack hooks. Double check expiration dates on sunscreens and replace as needed. Inflate pool floats. Write summer schedule on menu board. Deep clean backpacks and lunch boxes before putting in the kids' closets. Lunch containers are culled (recycle anything broken, missing lid, etc), stock a pool snacks cabinet for kids to grab and go.

I fully admit the host is in BEC territory for me lol, which isn’t helping. I’m buying the crap I don’t have, but am bitching here (sorry) and screenshooting her texts to bitch to other friends. Day 1: Short black dress, black sandals (she bought the bride white sandals and wants cute pics) Day 2: Pink shorts paired with the b-party matching t-shirts. Day 3: Black swimsuits and sashes.

I’ve got 10 years’ worth coozies and t-shirts from various parties and like 8 bridesmaid dresses I’ve never worn again in my closet. I know what I’m signing up for usually. It’s just A LOT this time. I also need to find somewhere to print a giant cutout of the groom’s face so we can carry it around. Sorry, I’ll shut up now. I’m excited to see my friends and see Savannah again. And at least it’ll be easy to pack outfits lol.

My baby turned 3 on Sunday. We had a bouncy house with 5 friends. She had a blast. Basically smooshed her face into the last piece of cake on the cake platter and I got a super cute picture.
I want her to wean herself from nursing but she loves her milkies and tells my nipples this everyday. She also needs to be potty trained by September but I'm super lazy and even though she shows all the signs of readiness she just doesn't want to sit on the toilet.
The library has dropped all covid restrictions and we are business as usual.
H had his brain shunt checked out and it is still working - it's almost 15 years old and has been having headaches and vision disturbances so we were worried it was failing and it was time for another brain surgery. The pain and vision is likely from his TMJ. He finally gets his mouthguard tomorrow.
I read nothing because my brain is mush, but I do listen to books everyday. I vacillate between (mostly) regency romance and mysteries. I'm comfort listening to the Prey series by John Sandford again.

ozziebear That is intense. How old is this bride? I don't even consider myself old by any means but I feel like that shit screams a bride in her 20s. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course, but if she's over 30 it just seems so excessive to me, lol. Our nanny went to a bachelorette weekend a couple weekends ago (everyone was fully vaxxed) and she told me how eyerolly it was. They had to have matching outfits for every event of the weekend. She's 23. It was a very 23 year old bachelorette party lol. They told her to get a "cute clubbing dress" and she said no and wore shorts and a tank. lol.

Omg to that bachelorette party. I don’t think I’d go just due to the matching outfits. Jfc.

ozziebear You don't need to shut up. Randoms is for randoming. And that is a lot. Or maybe I'm old and boring, which is also a very real possibility.
