This month is feeling pretty crazy. We just got back from camping yesterday, next Wednesday is DD2's last day of preschool (it's going to be so hard to say good bye to that school!), we leave next Thursday to fly to AZ to see my family, when we get back DD1's last day of school is a week away, and then the last week of June both girls will be home with nothing planned, and then the first week of July we go to the beach, 5 weeks of summer camp, beach, and school starts... and then it's practically the holidays. LOL So that's how my June is going.

They extended the school year this year, so the kids are in school until July 8 and I'm not mad honestly. Means less summer i have to figure out.

Radio commercials shouldn't be allowed to include audio that sounds like someone aggressively honking and swerving.
Unpopular opinion brought to you by the commercial that did that WHILE I WAS MERGING on a busy road and scared the business out of me.

I am driving, sir, please do not make that difficult for me.

fatpony , Not really. She nurses when she gets up and then right before bed. I would of weaned her already if it weren't for covid and us being home. I think mornings will be easy to start with because some mornings, I get her from her crib and we go downstairs to feed the cats. So I don't think she would miss it.

My kid really thinks he uncovered a conspiracy hiding the fact that teenage mutant ninja turtles are real.

I mean there's high pollen count and flying cicada pee just casually chilling in the air right now. I'd put it in my next post Vax survey but I wouldn't assume it's Vax related, necessarily.

DD2's last day of preschool is Wednesday. We've been at this school for over 6 years and they've seen us through a lot as a family. DD2 currently has 3 teachers, but really more than that. Plus all of the staff that we've interacted with over the years... I'm trying to think of some type good bye gift. When DD1 left for K, we donated a favorite nature themed game. But DD2 was still there. I don't know what feels right. We've also paid an obscene amount of money to them over the years.

I was looking at a program manager job description on LinkedIn this morning and it asked for 10 years “pogrom management experience.” 😬😬

There are like 24 staff members, so lunch might be too much, but I could probably swing bagels and coffee.

We had our end of the year preschool splash pad trip this morning. It was sooooo much fun. E still has another year there and will have at least one of the same teachers, but I still felt emotional giving them their thank you cards. They all had DS for two years when we were in the middle of figuring out his autism diagnosis and they really helped E make it through the pandemic with minimal regression, despite being unable to attend a traditional indoor program.
Anyway, I am so ready for summer! Bring on the pool and the sunshine. 😁

I feel like bagels/pastries and coffee are always a win. Though I learned the hard way to do either iced coffee or a container that holds heat well throughout the day because at least at at DS’s old daycare in VA, they weren’t supposed to take hot liquids into the classrooms.

That's good to know. Though I do know they have a coffee pot/kettle in the break room that are heavily used, so there is hot beverage drinking happening throughout the day.

DS had us last online class today (tomorrow we just return equipment). They did a pet show and tell which he loved, happily showed off our cat, dog, bunny, chicks, and chickens (yes he took his chrome book outside just for that 😂). He’s usually really shy so that warmed my heart. Then after class he came down and told me he was DONE with school and he was so happy. I told him I was proud of him for completing all of 3rd grade on zoom and he said he was too. ❤️ Tomorrow we’re going to take him out to lunch at an outdoor cafe to celebrate. Then he wants a “free week” before diving into home summer school (his idea, he’s very excited) and I am more than ok with that! Sorry for the ramble my mama heart is happy today. 🥰

easier That’s not a ramble, that’s a great end to the year for him! I cannot believe it is finally getting to the end of the school year for these kids. You have to celebrate the wins and positive growth because they have been hard-earned. Have a wonderful weekend with him!

We went to the community splash pad near Minerva’s house this morning and the cicadas were unreal. Constantly flying into us and landing on people. DD2 couldn’t handle it. She had a traumatic experience with one getting trapped inside her shirt this week at preschool and I think she’s had it with them. But we had snowcones while waiting for the carousel, and that made things better. I also think we are starting to age out of the splash pad :/ Poof

Did I miss something? Why did clay delete again? I was just skimming the list of threads and saw the jigsaw one she started was "Deleted."
