This isn't actually a clickable poll, more of a comments poll.
Think about how you close an interior door in your house. Bathroom door, bedroom door, whatever.
Do you gently push the door closed so you hear the click?
Do you turn the doorknob when you close the door so it closes almost silently?
Do you slam it every time because you're a grown up and you do what you want?
Do you pay zero attention to how you close a door?
I've made some observations over the years of various people in my life and their door habits and I'm starting to think maybe I'm a weirdo in this specific regard so I'm curious what you all do.

And now I will be over analyzing the way I close the bathroom door for the next week.

I would be special snowflake. My house is very old and none of the doors are level anymore. The knobs are also old as shit so you need to turn the knob and then push it closed and then lean on the door until you hear it click. If you don't do all 3 you risk a cat or kid barging in

If it is night or anyone is sleeping I turn the knob and close it quietly until it clicks closed. During the day or any other time, I close it normally but carefully not to slam.

A is very adamant about never slamming doors, for hardware reasons. Lol.
I've never been a slammer, except when I'm angry. I still sometimes slam doors when I'm angry and it makes A sooo mad.
But that's rare. Normally I'm very aware, and I only use the minimum amount of force needed to make it latch.

I always turn the handle fully, pull closed, then turn the handle back.

I close them without turning on the new ones, turn them and close on the older ones.
I always wait for a click. Because of a mix of old and new, some don’t close as well.
I try not to slam them, but if windows are open our doors close super fast and sometimes I don’t remember.
Also, I always lock the bathroom door. I like my privacy.

I like to make sure it clicks closed quietly. Apparently though, I let the garage door slam when carrying in groceries. L pointed that out over the weekend since I got on her about letting it slam 😒.

For the interior doors, I turn the handle all the way and try to close them silently.
Our exterior doors are more of a slam. One of them doesn’t close unless you put a lot of force behind your push.

We get up ahead of the girls to exercise and when DH uses the bathroom he clicks the bathroom door shut, which has often resulted in a kid waking up. Boo DH.

I am very noise averse so I typically try to turn the knob and gently close. Though to be honest I almost never close any of our interior doors. And add me to the list of people whose doors don’t close right. So a lot of times I just push them to and stop there. Our door from the garage into the house (our main entry) closes on its own and it isn’t loud, so I let that one swing shut. My hands are usually full anyway. But I will make extra effort to close it quietly if anyone is asleep. So milano. What is it that you do??

Except my front door, which doesn't line up right for some reason and you almost have to lean on it to close it.

It has only occurred to me in the last few days that doors don't just always naturally shift out of alignment over time. My house is 34 years old and all of the doors close as they should. Growing up I never met a single person who's non-brand new doors all closed properly. But yeah, I grew up in earthquake country, so that makes sense.

I’m with tj. I hardly ever fully close doors. I do take care to close the exterior door very quietly when I leave for work before everyone is awake. I push the bathroom door until it clicks during the day. Other than that, we only have bedroom doors and we sleep with them only partially closed.

Ok sorry I am an asshole and don't like to type on my phone because it takes me forever so I was waiting to get on my computer.
I turn the doorknob and "silently" close the door, probably 95% of the time. At home or at someone else's home. I have noticed with houseguests that people who have kids tend to silently close the doors as well, whereas younger child-less people NEVER do. Like full on door-shutting at 10pm, 7am, anytime. I find the sound so jarring, and immediately mutter a "what the fuck" in my head every time I hear it. MH thinks I am super sensitive to noises/sounds because of that and many other reasons, so I was curious as to what other people with kids normally do.
Related, I do enjoy a good door slam if I am absolutely pissed. MH gets so mad if the kids do it but I honestly don't care because a) it happens maybe once every several months, not frequently at all and b) it is a good way to get a bit of anger out without physically hurting someone or breaking something. So we disagree on that but I find a slammed door to be very satisfying if the situation requires it. It is like announcing "I AM PISSED" without having to say it. Lol. Maybe I'm childish.
Our outdoor doors all need some oomph to open and shut so those are kind of loud when I shut them. They are better now that we have all new locks and doorknobs, thanks to Fergus and his ability to open doors with levers.
And this concludes my thoughts on doors.

milano your houseguest comments made me remember that my parents are not quiet door closers. Every time they visit, I cringe when they close the guest room door or bathroom door while the kids are asleep At night, I definitely twist the knob carefully and open/close doors as silently as I can. Exterior doors, I push until I hear the click. It's oddly satisfying.
