That sucks roloma. I hate that people have to make health care decisions based on money.

I finally reached my insurance deductible but am still ~$2600 away from my out-of-pocket max. The bad news is that I have burned through my flex spending already. Not thrilled about that. I know at my next MFM appointment she is going to say they want to do weekly ultrasounds to check my cervix. I get the precaution but it is making me sick to think of the cost (even at 20% coinsurance) that is going to be for the next 10-12 weeks. I wonder if I can convince them that it is overkill since my cervix wasn't even the real problem last time. At this rate I'll have to spend all of my savings and then some on doctors appts and the birth, leaving little for maternity leave. Stupid. It's 10am and I need some chinese food. Go eat some breakfast Chinese. You deserve it.

LT for commiseration only. My child is very much a two year old lately. It's true what they say....three is worse 3 is so fun in so many ways. But they also become really good at manipulation. But then they tell you stories and you just look at them like... I made dis.

DD told us a story at dinner the other night about how people were scared of the werewolves (and did the wolf howl) and they were running away and didn't want to get hurt, because they didn't want to go in the ambulance to go to the doctor.
H and I were like... Cool story, bro. Lol. it was so cute, though.

The extreme ends of the spectrum are what make it so difficult. Its also really hard not to laugh when they are actively trying to manipulate your partner. I frequently have to duck out of the room when DS is talking to DH because I just can't handle how hilarious it is. They make them so cute on purpose. thatgolfb I love the stories. DS doesn't tell them super frequently yet, but when he does, I just about about die of how cute he is. He's very into telling us about his trucks and what the trucks did/didn't do at his construction site (he pretends that one of our couches is the construction site).

RE: Kids telling stories...
A friend of mine was telling me about a story her 4 year old has recently been telling. They were reading a book about animals that hatch from eggs, and he kept insisting that people do too. She tried to explain that human babies grow in their mom's bellies, but he was insistent. He then told her about his very vivid "memory" of his little brother (2yrs old) hatching from an egg they had in the kitchen counter. She can't convince him otherwise.

A sorority sister has created a poll/betting site for expecting parents as "a free, fun way to earn a little extra baby cash." She's soliciting members through FB and a mutual friend tagged me in. Hard f-ing pass. It's taking everything in me to not respond with how tacky it is.

Then the parents get that money? I've seen people set up a birth date poll and the send a prize to the person whose guess is closest (which is kind of fun) but I've never seen one where people pay to vote.

Pay to vote and keep the money. Idk if the pot is split, or something. I couldn't even click the link for more information, because I'd have to set up an account. I've participated in polls for fun before, but no thanks to paying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LT for commiseration only. My child is very much a two year old lately. It's true what they say....three is worse We're getting close to 3.5 and things are getting much better! I still believe 1 is the worst age. There are very few things you can say to make me change my mind.

I feel like if you want to get technical about the hatching thing he's kind of right because the blast does hatch out of the shell to implant. I would never try to explain that to most adults let alone a 4 year old lol

Holy cow guys...I'm seeing red here. I was digging into my insurance claims today and noticed that my 11w ultrasound was coded as abnormality in fetal heart rate and rhythm. WHAT?? No one said a fucking word to me about it then. We only ever had anything mentioned at our 20w scan when they told us about the hole in the heart. Are you kidding me?? It was known at 11w that something could be wrong and no one said anything or wanted follow up? Holy shit. I'm not seeing my regular doctor on Monday at my appointment but you can bet I am bringing this up when I see him again. I understand that maybe they don't really worry about it that early on and qait to see further at the 20w but someone should have at least mentioned it to me. Ugh. Breathe.
Also it is five hundred billion degrees here and my feet and ankles are super swollen. I'm going to bed right after the toddler tonight.

Mine was basically like Niagara falls. You are all welcome. My sister cleaned up the bathroom while we were in the hospital. We do not speak of it. Mine was like that too. I was given adult pee pads from another mama friend who's water has broken with all her kids. I was completely soaking through them in minutes every time I put one on. It was nuts. I took a giant pad from D's birth and left that in my car in case my water broke...it might keep some of it out of my car. Eww

I am home from the business trip. Some people saw me all week and didn't realize I was pregnant. I am pretty big. I don't know if I will go out there again. Next time it would make sense with chemo and work events would be mid September...and I feel that is too pregnant.

Hey! We've been on holidays with limited wifi reception so I haven't been around much! Hope all is well with everyone.
Started potty training my 2.5 year old so that's been fun. She's actually done fairly well so we will see!

Holy shit roloma. I'd be seeing red too and demanding answers. That shouldn't have been kept from you. grumpycat where you going? Tomorrow H is taking me somewhere sans kids for the day. I don't know where to but he told me to wear a comfortable sundress. I'm excited. I love surprises and I need a break from the kids.

This kid is such a weirdo. Terrified of the dark, sleeps with a lamp on and yet found him asleep in his toy box with the lid closed.

roloma, they needed to say somethung to you. That's ridiculous. I had a 10w ultrasound with DD where they first noticed an issue and I got an immediate bounce to an MFM. At any point they sense a problem you should have the right to know. Big hug. I hope a good night's sleep helps.

roloma, definitely follow up on that. I'd be upset, too. I passed my glucose test, bought a minivan (it's amazing!!!), and ordered a Snoogle. It's been a good week.
