From my sample size of 2, it certainly seems to be for us. 2 baby girls following basically the exact same weird curve. Both of our drs say it's genetics. So... Okay. I just don't want a FTM thinking that there's something wrong with their chunky baby when both her & her H is on the smaller side. I mean, I have 2 kids. M was a freakin roly poly chunky baby alwasy in the 95% range and H is still in the 5-10% range. So.... I can see how someone could think that. But for us, the fact that we have generations of small women on both sides is what the drs told me when I was losing it over having babies who went from 50-60% to 3%.

W is in the Smokies hiking with my parents (he's gone until Saturday) and the twins are napping so I have been making banana blueberry bread and plotting to make some homemade fig newton's later this week using the figs in my fridge. I've also been taking care of some financial stuff (we finally got life insurance on me) and now we need to write our wills. Grown up shit. Augh. I still need to do our wills. +1 I get an anxious feeling whenever I think about it.

I don't know what D weighs now. She's always been on the bigger side. She turns 8 months tomorrow so I plan to weigh her at home then.
I've got a ton of work to do today to make up for Thursday when I first didn't have internet on my work computer, and then the whole system went down once I got home and connected remotely. I'm so tired and unmotivated. D was awake from 11:15-1:00 last night. If I sat next to her crib and held her hand through the bars, she was quiet, but the second I got up she would cry and cry. Kind of heartbreaking but I really needed to sleep.
Much coffee today.

Newborns need so little, but I feel like you can never have too many swaddle blankets because they double so well as spit up cloths, changing pads, shade for carseat/stroller, etc. I also always give people diapers in addition to anything else I am giving.

Lillian woke me up when the sun came up. Sigh. If it's light out, it's time to be awake apparently. But, she did say the cutest thing. My dad got her a dress at the All Star Game and gave it to her yesterday. She was carrying it when she woke me up. I asked her why and she said, "Grandpa gave it me. Best present ever." So cute!! Today we are supposed to go to one of our area splash pads with two of my mom's former co-workers and their kids (I think 4yr old and also a 1yr old?). We have a chance of rain today, but hopefully it holds off until the afternoon. Otherwise, I need to go get dinner stuff for the week and restock on fruit. Is Lilah officially the smallest baby now? She's around 14lb 4oz and I think like 26" tall. Eta: kleigh I know AV has been a similar size to Lilah. Our next pedi appt is the 9 month check in on aug 9th but I tried to weigh them both last week at ILs (I don't own a scale). AV was 14.2 which confuses me... so 2/10ths of a lb - what is that in ounces? Anybody? I don't remember ABs, but I think 20.2. I don't know their height but they look about the same when they stand. It's so much fun IRL: • Are they twins? Yes • He must be eating her food She eats more than him actually •Well he's a little chunky monkey He's a monkey alright • But she's awfully petite Well she's a baby • Thank god he's bigger than her and not the other way around, you wouldn't want her to feel badly They're 8 months, I'm not sure they know what that would mean

I have an ENT appt for H this afternoon. I can't believe we got in that quickly! I really hope this dr can tell me what this black spot is and not give me a heart attack like the pedi did Friday.

A co-worker had a birthday this weekend, so we're going out to this burger bar for lunch and then having cheesecake back at the office. I love birthdays.

vino, I loved getting and gifting swaddle blankets because they are the best and be used for everything. I'm big on necessities like wipes, diapers, butt cream, windi, nose frida, or target gift cards. Good luck at the ENT today tgrimes, I hope you get some answers and that it's nbd! So does anyone else's kid have issues with sounds? C wasn't like this at all. Aside from the typical loud bang which would scare anyone, H will cry over most semi-loud noises, high pitch noises, the vacuum/blender/pump (like to blow up an air mattress) even if he is in a different room so it's definitfely not the volume, and the weirdest one - the sound of aluminum foil ripping/folding/crinkling.

kleigh That would really piss me off. Every so often I get the "wow, she's so little" comments that annoy me. Yes, I'm aware. Sounds like they're still roughly the same size! My scale has shown between 14lb 2.5oz and 14lb 4oz. I'm guessing on height since I haven't attempted to measure her. She HATES being put on her back. She wants to crawl or stand up. Makes diaper changes exciting.

No. In fact M used the dyson with a small attachment to vacuum the crumbs off H's onesie last night. She was trying to "help."
