So L has been logging into other kids Raz-kids program and doing their homework. They are not going to expel him but he’s losing recess for awhile. Uh oh. I’m sorry. Last year when M had raz-kids he wanted to go into the other kids profiles to look at their progress and I had to tell him he couldn’t. It’s too easy to get into the other kids stuff because they all had the same password pic.

Only the first one. They didn’t like it as much as the series — go figure! So maybe I should just start watching the series with them then. M was very upset when sulphur springs was over, maybe this will give us something else to look forward to! I am really enjoying it. The kids are so cute and it has Lorelei from Gilmore girls in it.

Did L have an explanation to why he did that? I get that some actions need consequences, but I really hate those kind of punishments. I really believe recess is not just a break, but an immensely important part of children’s social development. I once fought hard (and won!) for a kid that was always late and was not allowed to on a overnight field trip because of it. Not the right consequence! Eta plus I have feelings about even the possibility of expelling a 7yo... All of this! I don’t like extra work or the removal of recess for a consequence, but I do agree there needs to be one. Did he offer an explanation as to why he was doing someone else’s homework? Is he able to do as many stories and questions as he likes or are they limiting him?

I agree that there should be a punishment and S would be devastated like B was vino, however, I also agree that losing recess is not the correct punishment for a 7 y/o. They need to get that energy out, esp these days when so many are couped up inside with online learning etc. I think there are other, better punishments that are better related to the infraction.

I think the consequences depend on the kid. For Evie, she wouldn't care about losing recess, it isnt her favorite part of the day anyway. Seems like for kids to realize what they did was wrong, the consequences need to be something that effects them.

Another same. peachsmama I’m excited for you. Our new insurance has this surgery perk where they basically schedule everything for you and maybe a discount rate. I am seriously considering doing it sooner rather than later since I’m close to Nashville. I’ve been researching surgeons, but if I decide to do it, it probably won’t happen until next year. So living vicariously. Do it. It's so easy and so worth it.

I think online education and safety training was also probably lacking at school. I'm fairly certain the girls' school doesn't cover it much and I feel like I'm constantly trying to drive it in to them but they don't really get it at this age. I can only imagine what it will be like when they get older.
Punishment is appropriate, but even entertaining the idea of expulsion/suspension is extreme and over the top.

My boobs have drooped down and I know that I'll never be able to quit push-ups because my pecs now make up for the top part of my boobs.

FWP: My husband scheduled a maid to come do a deep clean. It's very expensive (I hope she at least has good references because I don't want to pay this much for someone to do a little dusting and vacuuming) and she's going to be at my house almost all day starting at 0800 on Saturday. I thought duuuuuuude...could you not have scheduled a weekday when I have to get up early anyway and stick around the house all day. *sigh* It'll be nice to have a clean house though.

Hi.
It’s Friday and it has been a slow day. It’s my weekend to work. M’s game tonight will probably be rained out again. This is game number 4 for rain out. Not sure about tomorrow’s game either.

This sounds like a nightmare. We had a service come in right after C was born because he was early and I hadn't cleaned in a couple of weeks. It was $400. I didn't realize how insane that was because I never had someone clean my house before. Hopefully the place is sparkling after.

I didn't realize how insane that was because I never had someone clean my house before. Hopefully the place is sparkling after. MH said it was going to cost $400 too! I thought are you insane?!? I told him that I wanted to get a maid again because I can't keep up with it all and asked him to ask around Next Door or something like that for references. He hired this lady without checking with me first and frankly I'd rather have her come several times for regular cleaning to see how good she does rather than fork out $400 on the first visit. He has extremely low expectations when it comes to cleaning. He's impressed by a little wiping on the counter tops without even moving the toaster and that kind of shit. So he'll probably think she's great no matter what. I am also guessing he told her the square footage and that's part of what the price is based on, but 3 of those rooms won't even be touched (kids rooms and guest bedroom don't need anything). For this kind of money it better look like a move-out clean.

inthekitty, I just watched The Lie. So many bad decisions but that ending Woah! For reference I pay $80 every two weeks now for 1700 sq ft 3bed 2.5baths. I know prices are regional but we are in a decently high COL area.

Hey. It’s cold and dreary here today. We ran to costco to pick up snacks for soccer tomorrow, it’s H’s turn to provide them. I forgot to grab juices so I’ll pick them up later tonight after DH gets home.
I also got my oral surgery scheduled to get a few teeth pulled for the second week of may. I need to coordinate people to be available to watch the kids and Dh to take me to the surgery. Such a hassle. My dad and step mom are back so hopefully she can do it.

MH and DS1 left yesterday for a hockey tournament. I should have had a busy night yesterday but rain canceled most it it. Tonight T has his first night of soccer. It used to be K-1 had 8 practices and 8 games but they canceled last spring and fall and now K-1 is a clinic with all the K-1 kids at the same time “because of Covid.” I don’t see how having them all there at once is going to be safer than 2 teams at a time so we will see. It’s also Friday night and Saturday morning which is oddly close together.

Tomorrow I'm taking Cadence strawberry picking with girl scouts. Then there is a scavenger hunt in the afternoon with girlscouts as well. Idk if I signed up on time for the hunt, though. I guess we'll see.
Currently at swim after napping all afternoon. I hate wasting the day like that, but I'm so exhausted by the end of the week, I really look forward to my Friday afternoon nap. 😴😴

Soccer was crazy and it rained but we got ice cream on the way home because why not? Now C is actually begging to go to bed but I have to take the boys with me to pick up DD at 9 so I have to keep him up.

He’s not expelled but if he does anything like it again he will be. I had a 2 hour conversation with the teacher.

Ok so the teacher only is taking 1 of the 2 away for one more week. She agrees he needs the recess to burn off energy. She agrees that he was just trying to be helpful. 2 of the kids (he “helped” 5) were in 2nd grade. So she’s not sure if they really did ask for help or if he just wanted to help because he knew they were struggling (they talk at recess). She feels that after their talk he took it to heart. So hopefully we won’t have to do this. But now someone has to sit with him at home when he does his raz-kids

My mom just texted me. She was trying to close her window above her sink, slipped and a fork that was in the drying rack went into her arm. Wtf? She now has a huge bruise and piercing marks. I asked if she needed stitches or a tetanus shot or anything. Only my mother, I swear.

chrisy01 I love that he was just trying to help. But yes, it's not good that he just did it for them. My concern was that it was a bullying situation where they told him to do it for them. So I'm glad to hear it was not that.

So I'm glad to hear it was not that. I’m not sure if that’s what really happened or not. Since no one else is saying anything it really falls on L. The reading assignments he did have been removed from their app and they have to do it over (or in really for the first time). He’s sad. We are suppose to go to Disneyland soon and he might not get to go. He knows I mean it because I’ve done it before. It will make me really sad because this might be the last time for probably a year.

Ouch klong11! Glad it wasn't more serious. My mom is seriously the biggest klutz. When I dropped evie off yesterday, she had one of her index fingers wrapped in gauze so I asked what happened. She said she about cut her finger off Wednesday cleaning up her flower bed, 4 stitches. I hope that is one trait I dont inherit from her!
