I missed a question about TikTok bc my child was throwing down about ice cream
I think the next question was about lockdowns and restrictions and she's basically saying vaccines are available, please vaccinate people first and then lift restrictions

Redistricting days from 2020 census coming no later than September 30. Hopefully before that. She asks secretaries of state and redistricting panels to be patient so Commerce can prioritize accuracy.

They're definitely taking a less antagonistic approach on China, focusing more on advancing American technology and stability rather than stopping China, bc China won't stop. She acknowledges that steel tariffs do protect American jobs.

Yamiche: why should business owners start a business here if they can do it more cheaply somewhere else?
Raimondo: well you can't beat American ingenuity, American work ethic. Businesses want to be where their workers want to be, which is in strong communities with clean water, stable roads and bridges, good schools and reliable utilities.

Jen: 64% of Republican voters support the package's investment in the Care Economy. Voters overwhelmingly support paying for the plan by asking the very wealthy and corporations to pay their fair share.
Over 156 million direct payments have gone out so far.

Zeke Miller: so are we boycotting the 2022 Beijing olympics?
Jen: well we sure hope by then we have most people the world over vaccinated but we would rely on our medical experts. We don't have any plan to participate in a coordinated boycott.
ZM: what's the timeline for bringing Iran back into compliance with JCPOA?
JP: The talks are ongoing today in Vienna; We're very early in the process and the broad topline concerns are being addressed, but we will exercise patience in what we anticipate will be a long process

Amazon supports an increase in corporate taxes. Has the WH reached out to corporations including Amazon to drum up support for the package?
Jen: we've reached out to a ton of groups. Amazon joined a call with 20 other businesses of varying sizes.

KW: butbutbut bipartisanship
Jen: k. Well we're going to address the needs of the American people. We welcome debate and discussion. If they don't want to do good stuff, they can go whine on Fox News but we aren't going to waste this opportunity to address needs.

I'm so tired of the "bipartisanship" bullshit when clearly all it means is rolling over and letting the GOP do what they want. It's not how it works.

I think that's Cecelia: are you guys going to resume any construction on the wall, e.g. plugging holes?
Jen: first we stopped taking funds from the military to beef up spending on the wall. There were some other funds already appropriated by Congress for the wall and we're working within our limitations by law. We've never believed the wall is a good solution for the border.

Ayesha Rascoe: North Korea is doing more missile testing. Sanctions are already in place. What's left options wise for you?
Jen: we continue to enforce sanctions. We're commited to denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. We're open to diplomacy. For anything further, I'd direct you to DoD
AR: is there an update on the proposed Commission on Policing?
Jen: right now we're focused on getting the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to the president's desk so he can sign that, we're seeing positive signs out of the Senate. The commission isn't off the table, we just think *right now* the bill at hand is a good way to quickly and effectively bring some improvements.

How do you measure success on addressing the root causes of immigration?
Jen: word salad
So do you have a numerical or tangible goal for success?
Jen: eh, we have to play the long game here. Improvement won't be like flipping a switch.

I'm so tired of the "bipartisanship" bullshit when clearly all it means is rolling over and letting the GOP do what they want. It's not how it works. The media is irresponsible for pushing this narrative IMO. Why don’t they talk about how Dem proposals are super popular and Rs are obstructionists? You know, what’s actually happening?

I'm so tired of the "bipartisanship" bullshit when clearly all it means is rolling over and letting the GOP do what they want. It's not how it works. The idea of bipartisan only belonging to POTUS, senate and congress is so out of touch. I’m always listening for the “well, the AMERICAN PEOPLE support this” replies. It isn’t just about those buildings, especially when those in the buildings aren’t listening to those who put them there or voted against them. Maddening. Update your talking points media peoples.

WHY DID KAMALA GO TO A BAKERY IN CHICAGO INSTEAD OF EL SALVADOR
Jen: uhhhhhh she visited a small business in Chicago while she was addressing vaccine hesitancy. People like snacks? MVP's office announced a USAID DART team deploying to the northern triangle to help address the humanitarian crisis there. She's definitely focused on immigration and you're being weird. Also nobody is traveling right now?
