How is everyone doing in the home stretch?
This week I’m transitioning to WFH before this little guy arrives. I had an ultrasound last week at 36+1 and the tech said he was measuring at 8 lbs 12 oz. 😳 My doc is strongly suggesting induction at 39 weeks if I don’t go early, I was a giant baby (10 lbs 8 oz) and she is worried this guy is on track for the same. I’m comfortable with inducing, though I’d prefer he just came on his own early instead. She said I was 1.5 cm dilated so anything is possible really. I never dilated with DS1 until I was induced 3 days before my due date.

I’m ready but could still have a few weeks to go. due 4/24 but my first two came early. It’s so hard not knowing. My next appointment is Thursday MFM, ultrasound, and ob. We are supposed to make a plan based on babies size, I have GD. I have never had to be induced so not sure if I want to push for that or just wait it out.
I have been frustrated with my doctor, especially with managing GD. I felt like she would blow me off when I had concerns about my numbers. I had it with my first two as well, with different dr, so I was aware of what my previous doctor had concerns about. I had to change OBs half way through this time due tk insurance and didn’t have a lot of options so I feel stuck and that makes it worse too. So just praying everything goes ok! It is also weird to not have seen the hospital I’ll be delivering at or know much about it. I toured the hospital with my first and delivered my second there as well. I feel like there is so much uncertainty.
Also how was wearing a mask for those that have delivered?

snickerdoodle sorry you’ve been frustrated this go around with the doctor and all the uncertainties. I’d be anxious about the unknown and hospital situation too. As for the mask wearing- the pain of contractions really distracted me from the mask so it wasn’t bad. And they said I could take it off for pushing, but I ended up on oxygen for an hour or so to help with baby’s heart rate so I had that mask on instead (and ended up wearing it through the delivery). The rest of the time we made sure to wear our masks whenever staff came into the room.

Ditto above. We wore masks whenever staff came into the room (I forgot a couple of times and they didn't remind me, I was horrified, haha) and I don't remember wearing a mask while I was pushing, but I was also a little busy 😅 (I'm pretty sure I was)
I think, while it's definitely still policy, staff is a lot more lax because most or all of them have been vaccinated for a few months now. At least it felt that way here.

I had one nurse even say “oh it’s okay, I’m not paranoid” and I thought yeah, WELL MAYBE I AM!

We wore masks whenever anyone was in the room but most of them seemed pretty relaxed about it. At one point I felt sick and the nurse was like it’s really fine please take it off while you’re feeling bad. Emma is one week old today! It’s going fast already and I am soaking in allll the newborn snuggles knowing this is our last baby. She is such a sweet baby and so chill. She loves snuggling and my toddler loves her so much so far. They are so cute together!
