Excuse me, what? That is terrible. Defense has said that about 30 times in his closing.
'the public just doesn't always understand what the police are doing, it looks awful, but lawful'

When do you guys think we get a verdict? Monday/Tuesday next week.
Maybe Friday but going thru each of the 3 charges and all the evidence is going to take time.

I'm just sick to my stomach on this. I had to turn it off when the defense started playing a bunch of video footage. I don't want to "put myself in Chauvin's shoes". Nope. He's a fucking murderer. I'm not putting my ass in Gacy's or Bundy's shoes either.

I don't know about that. There are preparations being made widely here for it to be this week.

I don't know about that. There are preparations being made widely here for it to be this week. It could come back quick like they did with jodi a. I just have a feeling there is going to be ONE who might hold them up.
The other thing is the jury is going to want to go home so maybe that will make them go quicker.

I'm not blaming the paramedics but what if they'd gotten there sooner or gone straight to the hospital...
WHAT IF CHAUVIN KEPT HIS BODY TO HIMSELF?

Exactly.
It is not common sense to use deadly force to restrain a person who isn't moving

Mr Blackwell has the exact right "dad who is fed up with your fool nonsense" energy to smack down the absurd arguments made by the defense. It would be difficult to listen to this and not get the feeling that everything the defense said was ridiculous.

Good point I hadn't thought of: the prosecution does not have to prove that Chauvin's deadly force was the ONLY factor that caused Mr Floyd's death, just that it was A factor

His hypertension or drug use are irrelevant bc an expert witness testified that nobody could have survived the knee on the neck

Five full grown adult police officers with a radio to call for backup were not afraid of a group of unarmed bystanders

This is what I think as well. If I were on that jury, I know I would be very quick and steadfast in my decision. I have been on a jury before where things were not nearly as crystal clear as with this case.

Furthermore, I'm almost POSITIVE that if Chauvin is convicted he is going to appeal on ineffective counsel. Good luck. I don't see that going anywhere at the COA.

Why is he just now complaining that the jury wasn't sequestered from the jump? He's just trying anything he can to get a mistrial.

Ugh. The judge just said Congresswoman Waters' comments could be useful to the defense upon appeal.
The state is saying that risk is overblown.

Imo the only thing for the jury to deliberate is what they are having for dinner before returning a guilty verdict.

I'm REALLY REALLY tired of the entire world making Maxine Waters the villain in this narrative. The jury is supposed to not be watching news, so nonstarter SHE HAS A POINT!!!! Her comments were taken out of context the judge should have not said anything
