Morning all, happy Friday.
It's been a week, there is a shithead kid zeroing in on B at school and it came to a head this week. Ugh. I've talked to the teacher everyday since Monday and now instead of just dropping B off at the entrance of the school I'm walking round back to his door and waiting for the bell to ring to just observe B and this kid. The school is on it for sure and I appreciate that, but having a kid that cries in the morning that he doesnt want to go, waking up MOTN and has a rough time going to sleep because he is worried, that he gets 'a silly feeling in his tummy' (which I've now explained is his gut feeling), and he feels like he cant go anywhere without this kid following and being a bug is alarming.
So we're having lots of lessons of making sure he knows it is good to be sensitive but he needs to let some things roll off his back, to tell us about it and we can handle the adult problems etc. I'm also ensuring that while we're teaching B that he needs to chill sometimes that this kid needs to be aware of how he is making other feel, and hopefully they can meet in the middle somewhere with an apology and forgiveness.
parenting is hard.....
Overall it's SSDD over here, J and I had covid tests yesterday and they came back negative, so that's a good start to the weekend, I did our taxes for the year and this weekend we've got to start buying some stuff for the trailer. Woo hoo!

vino ugh I’m sorry about the situation at B’s school, that sucks so bad! It’s one of the most sucky parts of parenting, having to ‘let go’ of your kid & dealing with stuff you really don’t have control over. Hugs.

I'm sorry vino. I hate that kids are already acting this way at their age. I hope he stops and B stops feeling cruddy about it all. He is such a sweet kid I can't understand why anyone wouldn't love him.

nam2013 I'm all for independence and I know that these things are going to come up and he just needs to learn, we're in the thick of it right now and I know we'll get through it but it is A LOT. lol, lots of lessons happening over here. jewels He is a sweet and sensitive kid and it is ok that someone doesn't really get along with him, but to follow him around and be a stinker to B unprovoked is where it needs to stop. Just play separately kids!

vino, grr! That kid makes me mad on B's behalf. I'm glad the school is addressing it but I hope the little turd straightens up.

Oh, I do have a question for those with allergies or kids with allergies. C's cough/sneeze is still here and even worse since he is outside more. He uses generic Flonase once a day and one pill a day of Zyrtec. I am wondering if I should try another allergy med instead of the Zyrtec. Recommendations? Claritin hasnt helped much in the past so I was looking at Zyzal or Allegra maybe? My kids have the same thing now. M is taking the same meds as C. We have xyzal, and I don’t think it works as great for us. Maybe Allegra would make the difference.

Just dropped her at the emergency room, I'm not allowed in. I didn't give her a choice. She couldn't even talk on the drive because of the chest pains. So now I wait for updates.. I’m glad you took her in. Is your dad away?

Also team Zyrtec or Allegra but not Claritan. I've had to bounce back and forth between Zyrtec and Allegra over the years because one will work for me for a while then it becomes less effective. Allergies are a bitch this year. Yes, I feel like the spring and fall allergy seasons can be different and I have to switch up meds every so often. Annoying!

Oh well for some reason it won't let me post a pic. But it was awful. He literally looked like the kid from that movie mask. took 2 days to get back to normal. But every picture from that month or so he just looks so swollen Man poor kid. That must have been miserable.

Hi.
I got a late start this AM. M2 was a coughing, phlegmy mess last night. Damn allergies. I decided to give him a breathing treatment and after he started spitting up and eventually his dinner came up. I think it was just the breathing treatment because it happened a while back, but I kept him home today and called out of work just in case. Since we are supposed to be out of town tomorrow, I’m taking him to get tested just for peace of mind. I don’t think he has it, but if I need to give him breathing treatments in the hotel room, I rather know for sure we are not aerosolizing covid.
Other than that, I’ll just be cleaning and packing for our trip tomorrow.

lahdeedah I hope the tests are negative and M2 gets better. B used to cough up his food a lot too. It's the worst because you never know if he's actually sick or it's just from the breathing treatments/chest congestion. Last time B was sick our dr had us using just saline in the nebulizer, and not the meds, although I can't for the life of me recall why.

All her blood work came back fine. They are releasing her and she has to follow up with her cardiologist next week. They're calling it angina? Idk what that is. I need to Google.

Well scratch that. I got there and they won't release her. The cardiologist finally made it in and thinks it was a heart attack and wants to do an echo and a Angiogram? Again I don't know what that is.

I hope he feels better soon lahdeedah, and the tests come back negative. What's the timeline for test results around your parts? The free testing site here does a 15 min rapid test, and a PCR test that comes back in 2 days. We just got it done, so the rapid results will be in my email shortly.

Last time B was sick our dr had us using just saline in the nebulizer, and not the meds, although I can't for the life of me recall why. That’s what I may start doing. Last year we upped his dose and it just doesn’t sit well with him. I usually only put in half and then dilute with a little normal saline, but MOTN I wasn’t thinking and gave him the full dose. 🤦🏽♀️ So I got to do laundry and we went through two changes of clothes. Then he was awake and wanted to watch TV, so we were up 230-430 last night and then I had to get up to get M ready for school.

Again I don't know what that is. Echo is an ultrasound of her heart- can check her cardiac output and wall motion. angiogram is when they slip a catheter through her veins to take X-rays to visualize her blood vessels to check for blockages. They put contrast dye in to check the arteries. ETA: Angina is medical term for chest pain.

Hey. H doesn’t have school today so I’ve been refereeing most of the day since it’s S’s normal day off. V was napping on my bed this morning and fell off. She is fine, just upset for a little bit. 2 of my barstools arrived today so I scotchgarded and assembled them. peachsmama I’m glad your mom is ok and getting treatment

M2’s rapid was negative. Just allergies like I thought.
Today is MH’s last day at the gym. His clients and coworkers hate to see him go. One of them is on the board of the gym (it’s hospital affiliated) and he took him out to lunch and slid him 200 bucks after. 😂 This man has shaken his hand and given him $40 before in the middle of the gym. We’ll be using that money for some decent dinners for our trip. I would be mortified and awkward if it was me he was giving the money too, but I’m sure MH was not. This man also asked Mh yesterday if we needed help moving to TN. MH told him the company is taking care of it. I’m sure he’s just a sweet old man that likes helping whoever he can out.

Although I'm surprised nothing showed up in her blood work, that was usually the first sign for H that indicated additional tests needed done. But with her history and knowing women present differently, I'm glad her cardiologist is doing all the tests.

Evie had blood work and allowed me to give her the shot tonight. I bribed her with more toys than necessary and I hope she doesn't expect that weekly.
