Sounds like "the impact of variants" was a big driver of the CDC discouraging travel even among those who are fully vaccinated

Sounds like Major got startled, he snapped at someone and they were minorly injured. White House medical office took care of it.
That would be a lot for a dog, really, it's not that surprising. Eta: I'm not excusing it, I'm just saying I'm surprised it's never happened before with a WH dog. So many people!!

So in the first round of stimulus both parents got direct deposit. the last they were both sent a card. I can only assume it was because of social security but it was really weird and I hope they dont do that again. because FEES there is a fee free way to transfer the $ from the card to the banking account of your choice (assumping it has a routing number). Inhad to walk my parents through it. Eta: www.cnn.com/2021/01/08/cnn-underscored/stimulus-payment-debit-card-fees-to-avoid/index.html

The important dog question.
On monday Major was surprised by a new person. So new person walked up on him and the dog did what dogs do. Person was treated for a minor injury and nothing further needed.
As an aside, my Family Dog mag has a whole article on GSDs today LOL

(I'm his POA so I typically handle all his financial stuff so you'd think he would believe me but noooooooo)

Lol so the CDC telling fully vaccinated old people they can go see their grandchildren in their house, one family at a time means we should throw open the doors to the schools? That's not how it works, Karen.

On Friday morning POTUS is meeting digitally with his counterparts in "the Quad," formed in the wake of the Tsunami (India, Australia, Japan and US). This is the first meeting at the Chief Executive level and they'll discuss partnership for security and safety in the Indo-Pacific region as well as climate change. AKA what do we all do about China?

Question about making the expanded child tax credit more permanent, and criticism that that's not relevant to the economy?!
Jen: mmmmkay. Well a tax credit is sure as hell going to help you feed your kids. Also providing affordable healthcare so you can, like, take care of your kids' health?

How will you make up the loss in infrastructure funding from gas and Diesel taxes?
Jen: yeeeaaahhhh I'm not going to address what's in a bill that doesn't yet exist
And that's a wrap.

They are big mad that MVP isn't demanding Cuomo's resignation Not MVP specific (like what?) but I’ve been hugely disappointed with National-level Democratic leadership on the entire issue. Schumer being all “I’m sure the AG will do a strong investigation” is pretty lackluster. First of all, credible sexual assault allegations should be sufficient - especially because these events happened while he was in office! He literally used his position to carry out harassment and assault. Second of all, it’s not even “just” sexual assault - the data obfuscation on covid deaths is also concerning. I don’t know. I’m just rambling here. It feels like if it was GOP governor, the allegations would be enough for them to be loudly calling for resignation. And sexual assault allegations and how they’re handled shouldn’t be partisan. Happy Women’s History Month where we realize powerful men, no matter which party, champion the issue only when convenient.
