So vaxxing will be a big mission of the NG...we chatted about it this weekend and joked if my fellow mental health officers will be tasked to deliver shots. They told us they'd happily give us a class so we could be credentialed to do so and that they've talked about training infantryman to do it. Yikes. When we move, if I can’t find a job in my field right away, I was going to look into trying to help with vaccinations or something like it. I have never given a shot, but I start IVs and straight stick all the time, so I’m sure I can learn pretty quickly. At least I’m in healthcare and want to help so I hope that helps.

I side eye people who lie to get the vaccine, particularly if they work from home, but it doesn't surprise me. Did you see those ladies who dressed as grannies to try and get it in Florida? SMH. It'll make such a huge difference logistically when they can get down to 1 shot and no super cold refrigeration needed. I hope by the time the kids get it the side effects will be less extreme, but I think that's unlikely. I remember the flu shot used to suck every year in regards to side effects, but in these past few years it's been much better. It's funny you say that, I had side effects from the flu shot for the first time ever. Not super bad, but still... that had never happened before! But I agree, I hope that once the kids get it, the side effects are less extreme. I am definitely already a little nervous about that.

The girls both thought today was Friday so I think they're going to be dragging the rest of the week. Yesterday sucked for me at work and I hope today is a little more manageable. TV talk: The Imposters was really entertaining. I'm enjoying season 3 of Good Girls although I think they're already getting to the point where they're just going to be spinning the same storylines over and over again. I don't see how it could have more than 1 more good season. I watched the third To All the Boys. It was ok, but I wasn't a fan. I think it kind of wore out it's schtick of Lara Jean living in her head. And it tapped into one of my personal pet peeves of privileged kids stressing about which ivy league college they'll go to and acting like ivy leagues are all that exist. I realize that saying the big names is obviously something most of the audience will know and have something to grasp onto, but I very much eye roll to the elitism of the college world. We just found The Imposters and have already watched Season 1 and a few episodes of Season 2. I've enjoyed it so far!

OMG, I got the job offer from the company I didn't think would be able to come up with the money to get to where I am. BUT THEY DID! Salary is only 3k less annually, but they're paying me that in a sign on bonus. I'm waiting for the benefit package, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to accept it! OMG this is amazing!!!! Congratualtions.

It's interesting to hear the different ways that govts are going about making decisions on who gets it.
Here they have done all LTC facilities and healthcare workers, just today we're into age 75 and over which is to be completed by end March, then will be seniors over 65 and preexisting conditions which will I'm sure take us into end May. I think they're planning teachers, if they don't fall into the previous tiers by the beginning of the next school year. For myself it'll be the fall and MH is with the DND rollout which is who knows when.
The rollout seems well thought out immunizing the most vulnerable first and then down from there. I'm sure they'll be cheaters cause there are shit people everywhere.

I’m hearing so many positive things about the imposters, but it’s not in Dutch Netflix! This is about as ‘first world problems’ as it gets 😂.

I was surprised by how hard I was knocked on my ass from the second shot because other than a sore arm I didn't have a reaction to the first one. I was completely out of commission for 1.5 days. Of course it's much better than getting the Rona, but I still hope it's not that bad for the kids.

I was expecting to get a headache or something but it kicked my ass!

mwhip congratulations! Vaccine related informal poll...would you get it if you were pregnant? Technically I'm eligible, but appointments are difficult / impossible to get right now. Normally I trust all the science but my brain won't let me get past the "what if's" Yes because the risks to you and the baby if you got COVID are pretty great. And the research so far points to it being safe.

Normally I trust all the science but my brain won't let me get past the "what if's" I would. I totally understand the worry. If there's no appointments now it might give you more time to discuss it with your doctor if that makes you more comfortable.

Good news, mwhip! MH is eligible but it’s been hard to find an appointment. Starting March 1 he could also be vaccinated in Connecticut so that opens up a whole other set of appointments. I have also resigned myself to the fact that I will not be getting the vaccination for a while.

mamabear I would be like this. Pregnancy gives everything health wise an extra dimension... I like what inthekitty suggested, talk to your physician. And hugs pregnancy during a pandemic is hard 😕.

Signed Cadence up for her 2 weeks of ballet intensives this summer so she's ready for the Nutcracker. $500 later I'm thinking she will just spend most of the summer at Camp Grandma.

There is an attorney wife here right now who is the loudest person I've ever met. Silence is clearly not something she understands. WOW! THIS IS AMAZING! SO FANCY! WOW! WOW! OMG! I can't with this woman.

mwhip I’m so happy for you! I’m being observed tomorrow at work. Is it bad that I want it to go poorly to help with my case for a transfer? My sister helped a few people get vaccine appointments and now started a little group of volunteers that has helped almost 300 people. She clearly states on her form you must fit the rules for our state or you won’t be helped. She got a 22 year old who wrote “I want to travel” on her form... She also has some of the sweetest stories of thanks from people she has helped. She called an elderly women the other day to let her know she got her an appointment and the lady started to cry and said her husband died of covid a few months ago and then she fell and broke her hip and then just that day her dog had died so she was so grateful.

I had scheduled an appointment for DD to get contacts next week because wearing glasses and a mask while doing gymnastics is hard. They called me today saying they aren’t doing new contact appointments due to covid. DD was so excited so I didn’t even want to tell her and instead called every eye doctor I could find until I finally found one that will take her (most wanted her to be 13 and she’s 10). They can see her tomorrow so she is thrilled.

MH is on the way to the Er with Hayden. He busted his chin open getting out of the bathtub. Augh. I feel terrible that I’m not with him but it’s always me that goes. And Mark was supposed to be watching him. I know accidents happen but damn.
