I'm alive! I just spent 2 days without internet and cable. We were much better off than most of our neighbors who had no power or water. Some still don't have any.
I've learned that my neighborhood is full of amazing people. So many people offering help, making meals, transporting people when needed. Complete strangers.
My own bosses didn't even message any of us to see how we were.

So the temps are rising, the snow is melting. We have another hard freeze tonight, but we are at the end finally!

Oh and always have shows downloaded on your netflix. It kept Cadence sane during her two days of no youtube! LOL

It’s snowing again. I’m so over it. Tonight is our busy sport’s night. DD competes again tomorrow and DS has 2 more games. T doesn’t know it yet but he and C will be going to my sister’s. He hasn’t been there since New Years and we used to see them several times a week so he’s going to be so happy.

DD’s competition tomorrow is in the middle of nowhere and we were told we can’t come in, must pay $15 for the zoom link to watch, we cannot use their wifi, and we cannot use their bathrooms. It will be freezing and there is like 30 inches of snow where this place is so that should be special.

I was at the right place, a guy in a SUIT walked out, then the people I interviewed with, apologizing for the delay. I think it went well, but it's so hard to say. I really want this position. It would be such a good opportunity, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too much.

ETA I capitalized suit because I did not go buy one, I wore black slacks, a light blue sweather and black boots. I think I would have been really uncomfortable in a suit, but it made me think I wasn't dressed nicely enough and if I don't get it, that will be why.  Which I know won't really be the reason.

Hi everyone!

It was a steady day at work. About to go home. The ice is finally melting some here. Found out my coworker and other people who work at the hospital have been without power since Wednesday. Yikes! She was a little grumpy, but I don’t blame her.

klong11 Glad your internet and cable is back. +1 to always having shows downloaded. We usually do for travel purposes and the boys take the tablet to the barber to keep them occupied while they get haircuts. The first day of the storm I downloaded a couple shows and movies on prime for me and mh to watch in case we lost power. Lol. Wow to your

I'm glad you finally got your interview and I wouldnt worry to much about suit guy, I'm sure you looked great. What are the next steps, did they tell you when they'd be deciding anything or having second round interviews?

This is the only interview. They said they had some great candidates, interviews today and Monday. After the last interview Monday, they will make a decision and speak to HR, so they should make an offer Wednesday or Thursday. I wish I could have waited til Monday to interview. I like to be one of the last so I'm memorable. Feel like being the first gets overlooked.

Fingers crossed mwhip! I second not worrying about what you were wearing. What you described sounded appropriate. That guy was probably just one of those suit guys who wears a suit hell or high water.

I dunno, a lot of times when I was hiring people, I'd like someone I met early on, and then decide in my head I liked that person and kind of half ass the rest of it b/c I already decided on that first person.  Hopefully you get the offer!

And thanks for all your support through all this.  My old boss had her review today and it was bad.  She got .91, anything .89 or below, you get put on a performance improvement plan.  Which is crazy...she is the hardest worker, dedicated her life to work last year.  Gave up weekends and a LOT of personal time, to make sure everything was done since they fired one person who worked for her and the other was let go due to poor performance.  I was the only help she had and I was minimal since Purchasing was my priority.  She also got marks against her for having her employees she had (me and the other purchasing guy) placed under someone else.  She didn't ask for that, they insisted upon us rolling up under the corporate purchasing director.  I'm floored at her review.  She called me crying.  

Which just really shows me that there is no future for any of us to stay on here.  I think they're setting us all up to fail and I'd rather go out on my own terms.

Yup! Someone else in my office is going to a wedding in McAllen this weekend and has to quarantine, so they’ll be short handed.

During the parent conference on Monday the teacher kept saying different things they would learn later in the year. Dude, there's only like 2 months left of this year, get going!

I went to the grocery store after work and my gosh it was more empty than last March. No produce, water, shelves bare. It seriously wasn’t this bad the first of the pandemic. Wherever they get their shipments from, I hope the roads are good so they can restock.
