flamingo our outages are also due to the wind turbines. From what H has told me, it's so cold, ice, and little wind that the turbines aren't able to produce enough energy to keep up with demand. I believe the outages are as far north as Nebraska, all the way to Texas. Seems like there should be a backup plan in place so that people don't lose their electricity unannounced for extended periods of time in this kind of weather.

I'm so sorry for you all without power and/or water. tgrimes does your MIL have power? We seem to be lucking out with the weather (knocking on all the wood). It is mid 50's today so the freezing rain expected was just rain. We are expecting 3-6 inches of snow on Thursday. Hopefully that sticks since I was finally able to schedule snow tubing for Sunday. C is at his aftercare for the day but since we didn't need to be there at any particular time, I slept a bit later and let him take his time getting ready. It was nice. Now the day is flying by way to fast and I still have a lot to do.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was gathering. Seems like alternative energy is great, until it’s not :/ Hope your power stays on this time! Fingers crossed this is short-lived tgrimes. Sending warm thoughts your way. My cousin in The Woodlands is still out, too. Do your ILs have power?

They think more generators will come today so the energy company can restore power to some people. We shall see.

Ours was our 2 hours and we went to 68 degrees (we keep our thermostat at 72). I'd say get in your car and head this way, but it's probably not the safest time to travel either.

lfig please stop calling my childhood comforter ugly. I had the same one with the matching wallpaper border from like middle school until I moved out of my parent’s house! I believe it is Laura Ashley. nam2013 so glad your photos were recovered. Sorry for all the no power/no water. That’s the worst. We were so lucky to be one of like 10 blocks total in my city that didn’t lose it during Sandy but we were out 24 hour in august and it sucked. Hope you all get it back soon. melaniesue nice to see you here!

Hi! Ugh. Sorry to the folks without power. That sucks so bad in this weather. My sister is in Katy and they haven’t had power for over 24 hours. Knowing them, they weren’t prepared. My mom said they have a gas fireplace, but I’m guessing it’s controlled by light switch because my mom said she couldn’t get it to work. No luck on them finding a hotel either. nam2013 Glad she was able to recover the pics.

Coming to check in on the Texans, what a mess and sounds scary. I def wouldn't handle those temps without heat well. I know minimal information about power grids but sounds like a perfect storm of frozen instruments at gas, nuclear, and coal plants as well as wind turbines..hoping some relief comes quickly.

We, thankfully, have not lost power with record low temps. I haven’t been outside my house in 3 days though, so I’m ready to break free. The sun is out today, but it’s the lowest temp of the week. The roads are still covered in snow and ice. I may run to pick up a prescription at the drive thru. It’s not far and on a main road, so the way to get there may not be bad. I see more cars out and about today, so maybe it’s not too bad.

I had yellow and blue LA, and our shared bath was blue/purple/green Laura Ashley. We were so stylin’ 99% sure my mom still has the same comforter to use for moving stuff, etc. lfig 😁 no judgement here!

I just read a snippet of an article that said most of the power plants knocked offline were thermal sources, too. Crazy that it’s affecting people from Nebraska all the way down to Texas. I wonder how the blackouts aren’t affecting everyone, too. Like people living minutes apart, but some have power and some don’t.

tgrimes, ugh that really sucks. I can't imagine no water. And 51 in the house! Brr. I hope your power gets restored soon. mwhip I'd be annoyed too that the outages are not being done equally. :/ We saw that crazy clip on the news last night of the surge on the power line. For those who are familiar with Mario Odyssey we all said "It's Mario!" lfig I actually like the comforter. It looks...comfy. Lolz to the dogs living their best life on it. nam2013 so happy your pictures were restored!

I've been having pelvic pain and recently had the dildo camera US. It revealed a small polyp in my ute but that wouldn't explain the pain. The doctor recommended getting it removed. So I'll have to have vag surgery when they get caught up on their backlogs. It's apparently an easy procedure. But...ugh.

That sounds not delightful inthekitty. I'm glad it's nothing serious. But DNW any kind of surgery in that area, unless it involves removing everything and no more periods.

Evies school is closed again tomorrow. I'm emailing her teacher for resources to keep her busy. She asks me all day for math problems then I have to grade them.
Is my kid the only weirdo asking for school work when she doesn't have to do any?
