Are you ladies going to get newborn pics done in a photo shoot of your LO?
Non FTMs- did you get them for previous kids?
If you guys are / have, what's the going rate for you? I know it'll vary by location but I can't decide if it's something to do and how much I should be realistically thinking of spending...

I have no idea. Lol. H is a photographer and so will probably just take the pics if we want them. I'm wearing him down on a maternity shoot right now.

I put a deposit on newborn photos. But, I really only did it because I got them done for T.
Last time I ended up spending $650 in total for photographer, prints, birth announcements and a CD with all the photos on it. This time I went with a mini session and so far I have spent $217, but there is a $200 print minimum. I really don't need the prints, as the ones of T aren't hung up and she's never going to want to do anything with them.
One of the most stressful parts of having a second is trying to do for the second what was done for the first.

Our hospital actually has a few professional photographers that come by and take pictures for you. They can take pictures during birth, after birth and going home. It's your decision to keep them. I think we will stick with them again.

I have no idea. I did my own maternity photos (so lame I know). But I set up a few shots, set the timer on my good camera with tripod, and they actually came out ok. They aren't great but it was free, easy, and I did it in my backyard.
I want to do the newborn photos but I don't know who to go to.

My hospital offers them and we did them with DS. It was a relief to have them done in the hospital and not have to take him out or have someone come to our home. I think we paid 200 bucks for digital rights and maybe 70 bucks for some prints.
I'll be doing it again if it's still offered, so I'll bring some outfits and a personal item or two.

king26 that's not lame at all! That's really fun and a money saver! I wish I knew if our hospital offered newborn photography. I feel dumb asking my Dr

Our hospitals do pictures too. The hospital's website should say if they offer photos. I think the agency that hospitals around here use is mom365.
I didn't buy the hospital ones last time, but after 6+ months the emailed me saying that if I downloaded an app then I could view them there. So, I saved them to my phone and printed them free through shutterfly.

We did for DS. I don't remember how much we spent. A lot more than we were planning on.
We are doing a newborn session this time which will include some family pics and some with the 2 kids. We paid $225 and will get a CD with print release.

We don't have any plans on doing professional NB pics. I'm usually not a big fan of those staged photos with all kinds of odd probs tbh, though I've seen real beautiful, more 'natural', NB pics as well. I used to photograph as a hobby and maybe this is a good oppertunity to dust of my DSLR heh!
For those who are going to do a NB shoot, as always, I hope you'll share some with the group. I ♥ browsing through photographs:)

We are doing them and we did them with my daughter as well. I love the photos we got last time, but I'm certain we way overpaid.
This time, we are paying $350 and the photographer is coming to our house (last time, we had to go to the photographer which was not fun after having a csection), will do pics with us as a family, with the 3 girls, and of just him. This photographer is great and also did my maternity session for H, which came out more than amazing IMO. I'm actually really excited about the newborn session because I know the pictures are going to come out great.

We weren't planning on doing them with DS but the hospital had a photographer come around so we did a mini session there. They came out decent, I can't remember what we paid though. We'll do the same thing with this baby.

Our hospital has a photographer go around, and we almost didn't do it last time bc we were so overwhelmed and tired, but were really glad once we did. They turned out well, although I forgot my makeup and looked like crap. We got good photos of the baby, though. I think it was around $150 plus extra for a canvas. This time I will just get digital since Easy Canvas Prints and other companies have such good deals periodically.
