We are expecting a little snow today. I just placed an Instacart order that should get here before it begins and I can make some chicken soup and brownies.
Schools are starting to dismiss early, but everyone’s home here.
I’m kicking myself that I didn’t run out to get samples of paint last night so I could have made a decision and picked up a few gallons this morning.

Morning. I let the homeschooling pressure get the better of me these last few weeks and. It was not beneficial for the relationship between me and the kids and we were all just not okay really. So today we did the bare minimum for school, I let Ds choose the pace. We took a stroll trough town, did some window shopping, got croissants & made a home Cinema after. It was so much fun and it was good for us. One of the best days I’ve had with the kids in a few weeks .

Not much to report here; C's ballet class is having their parent observation today. Most of the classes have been doing it via Zoom but C's class is small enough that each child can have 1 parent in attendance. I am excited

Otherwise, just picking up more meds for the pup, bball for B tonight, and enjoying the nice weather (plunging back into the 50s tomorrow :/ )

I have a tickle in my throat that will surely drive me crazy today. I’m mildly congested, too. Fun, fun. 😒 Is tonsil removal a thing in adults? I do the most for my immune system and it’s still crap. I have been wondering if I took my tonsils out if I would have as many colds throughout the year.

Morning! I’m currently WFH trying to catch up on emails from Friday and Monday. Just 273 more to go out of the 597 I started with this morning. I only have 5 meetings today so I should be able to get a lot of work done because tomorrow is all day meetings.

My sister (28 next week) is getting it done this year! She was supposed to last year but Covid 🤦🏼‍♀️. She kept getting really awful angina/strep.

Morning. My friend's Mom, the one who left the hospital late last week for hospice care, passed away this morning. She was like a second mom to me growing up but I haven't really seen her in years now since my friend and I both moved away and in different directions. It's honestly kind of surreal. I went to my photo albums to find pictures of her, because she's in so many of my childhood memories, but I found very few. Then it dawned on me that she's the one who took so many of the photos.

I really hate that I can't actually *be* there for my friend. This sucks.

lahdeedah, my understanding is that recovery is worse for an adult than a child. I had mine out at 18 but I don't recall it being horrible. I get just as many colds as anyone else though. C definitely gets less colds than before he got his out. I think he was only sick once last year and it was the flu. Prior to that he was a snot factory all winter with colds and strep.

It's cleaning day here and it was so desperately needed. We are getting snow tonight and into the morning but it is expected to be only a few inches. I hope the school doesn't call for snow days for stuff like this since we distance learn those days now. Not too much else going on.

SSDD. I picked up some clear plastic storage containers from Target today. Hopefully this week/weekend I can get better organized now that I have shelves in the laundry room.

So I got a group text from my mom last night saying she tested negative for covid and she took the antibody test and was negative on that as well. I messaged back asking why she took it, was she feeling sick. No response. Then she sends me a funny dogs video....so I messaged her again and asked if she was not feeling well. Sends funny animal video...
wtf?
So I message my brother this morning and ask if he got responses from her and my phone was being weird. Yep. POS phone.
Apparently she was having a hard time breathing when she lays down. She went in and her diastolic bp was at 50. They gave her a breathing treatment, steroid shot, etc. Nothing helped it. Thus the covid testing.
She said something about feeling like she was having a heart attack and taking some muscle relaxers and going to sleep, but my brother wasn't sure of her timeline.
She says they told her to see a cardiologist.

What is it with parents not taking care of themselves? Why the crap would you take a muscle relaxer and go to sleep if you think you are having a heart attack?
Any way, I messaged her via fb and she says she is fine, just feels wiped out and that she will make the appointment with the cardiologist. Which, she sure as hell better.

I have a few friends that have had their tonsils removed as adults.  Apparently it's a very tough recovery.  They recommended it for me years ago (like 25 years ago) but at the time I was too busy being 22 and never scheduled it.  No doctor has recommended it since, oddly enough, but in my early 20s I used to get tons of sore throats/swollen glands, and I don't get them too often now, so maybe I outgrew them?  Who knows.

I get a little tingle at the idea of organizing. I cleaned out the built ins this morning (mostly puzzles and books) but it looks so nice and clean.

My cleaning lady has Covid. She is ok, she said she has mild symptoms. But... my house is a mess lol. She knows when she got it and it was someone she was with the day after she was last here so I am not concerned about her having been in my house.
