So seriously, what about when kids are in and out all day long? Like you're not getting up to lock up behind them and then let them back in are you? If its decent out I leave the door open for the dog so I don't have to get up with him half as much. And no I'm not going outside every time my kids do. I have my own shit to do. I have a camera that's motion activated. I know if anything is moving in and out the door.

If we or kids are outside we dont lock them out. And if they are in and out, they get in trouble for letting 120 degrees in and ac out. Pick a side of the door and stay there. But otherwise if we are inside the door is locked. Been that way since forever.

I confess I actually cried when I saw Fauci giving his press conference yesterday and the difference in his demeanor. He looked so happy. This made my year so far: This is bringing me so much joy.

I feel like mayo on salad is a Brit thing. When I was a a server, I distinctly remember a lovely British man asking for โsalad dressingโ and meaning mayo. And I was like โummm.... ok brbโ But anyways either garlicky mayo or mayo with a bit of Mustard mixed in are both fab with fries. oh no that would be Salad cream, a close relative of mayo but not exactly the same

I don't understand unlocked doors, nor do I understand open garage doors. Our neighbors have their garage door open like 80% of the day, and their garage is so full of shit. Are they not worried about someone coming and helping themselves? I have a nightly routine that includes checking all locks, the basement light, and the outside garage. It takes about 10 seconds, and allows me to sleep. Maybe they want someone to come along and take some of it lol. Honestly, possibly!

Oh. That's why they filed for bankruptcy. Yay for safety course but F the NRA. No they filed for bankruptcy because the big wigs at the top were buying spendy vacations and clothes and shit and saying it was work expenses. Spent all the $. Not all the money, but a lot, and they just got sued for misuse, which has in itself cost them a ton. Now they are slow walking it and moving.

We keep the sliding door to the (contained, gated) backyard open while theyโre out, lock when theyโre done. After dark, all doors are locked. Front door remains locked unless someone is actively using it. And it has a key pad, which DD1 knows the code for and knows how to use, if she were ever to roam the neighborhood for whatever reason.

We donโt have a wide open field for a backyard like some people do, so I can speak to logistics of that.

The doorknob lock is broken on my front door, but the deadbolt lock and chain are still fully functional.

I lock my house when Iโm in it. I also donโt ever post on social media if my H is home or not, he works out of town for weeks at a time. MH hasn't travelled since mid-February 2020, but I didn't even like mentioning to my friends that he travelled for work during the week because I was paranoid that the word would get out that he was gone a lot. I may be slightly paranoid.

A restaurant I worked in had housemade blue cheese dressing and housemade ketchup. The steak fries were amazing and we all used to mix the ketchup and dressing together and use as a dip for the fries. In my 43 years of life, it remains the second best condiment I have had.

Have locked my children out before. They're obnoxious about outside time - in and out, in and out, door left cracked, slamming it. They're 11, 12, and 7. Would not do with a toddler. Duh. They know the code for the front door, but it at least slows them down.

I'd say stay out or stay in and lock the door. YOu'd lock your child outside? What?ย There was 50% TIC there. But yeah if my kid is incessantly running in and out, that's an issue. For me. There'd be some sort of solution I'd come up with. But I also don't see a situation as abusive where a kid got locked out for 30 minutes because he couldn't stop running in and out of the house ๐คทโโ๏ธ

It had nothing to do with her previous post. Assholes. I would be deeply uncomfortable with my children not being able to get in the house if something was wrong. We have had a lot of talks of coming straight inside if there are strangers on the street or anything that makes them nervous. We do not have a door code and we rent, so no that is not a solution at the moment. I simply tell my kids to knock it off. Loudly.
