Yes, Biden has a Rolex and a Peleton, which apparently is not allowed. I wonder how many Rolexes he-who-must-not-be-named has? Or how much money Melanie has spent on handbags🤔 I saw this tweet refer to his as the Velveeta Voldemort 😏 Velveeta Voldemort is everything.

I was so excited on Wednesday and now I feel exhausted again because of the area we live in. I’m already sick of hearing all about Biden’s failures. There are parents in our district and surrounding districts that insist their children are being forced political views of their teachers by being made to watch the inauguration. I feel like I’m going to want to raise my kids one way and their classmates are being raised another at and they are going to be alienated for it.

I'm in line to vote in our presidential election. We basically already know who will win, but hoping that the far right party doesn't gain ground.

My kids had to watch the Trump inauguration at school. My oldest, then in middle school, got in trouble for booing.

I don’t even have words. This is an amazing takedown: abovethelaw.com/2021/01/hobbit-law-cited-in-wacky-trump-loving-lawsuit-to-overturn-election/Particularly this passage: “The only way Gondorian politics reads even close to analogous is to say that we just had a mad ruler with incredibly creepy relationships to his kids, sitting in an office he didn’t earn based on anachronistic rules and after refusing to make any effort to confront the mounting viral threat of orcs and Uruk-hai spreading over the land at an exponential rate he went out in a blaze of infamy paving the way for someone to come in and clean up the mess.”

I don’t know how old your kids are, but mine haven’t been alienated for it. My kids have had lots of discussions with schoolmates (and teachers!) who support trump. We discuss things at home, and they know they are standing up for what is right. My youngest would ask for more information about something his classmate brought up so he could continue the discussion the next day. I know you know this. But kids will always find something to make fun of other kids about. Keep fighting and raising your kids with truth. They’ll be stronger for it, and you are diluting the BS that surrounds you.

Top “news” on Fox right now. Meanwhile... in actual real news.... 🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄 They just want to be angry about somethng. ETA they aren't the only ones who covered it. I prefer the busts he has in the Oval over Churchill. It signals a different focus for this administration.. A Churchill bust is still in the White House, though, right? At least this story says so. And now I'm wondering if there's an FDR bust/portrait floating around 10 Downing? www.nbcnews.com/news/world/preoccupation-churchill-bust-flna813872

Literally do not care and could not tell you what busts presidents have had. It’s on the same level as the decor on AF1.
Let’s do some real reporting journalists. Like 13 executions in six months under the previous administration seems like it should be a pretty big fucking deal.

The house on our street that had 45 signs all over the yard and in all the windows finally took them down. Of course they still have their "Babies Lives Matter" and Back the Blue signs up 🙄

To be completely fair the press also freaked out about Trump moving a bust and boy oh boy was it THE END OF THE WORLD when it turned out to be a misunderstanding. Fucking Sean Spicer.

Sorry, not sure this was the original thread, but I recall there was some discussion of whether Bernie Sanders was being disrespectful, or not cognizant of history, or just cold and waiting. According to the timing mentioned in this story about the photographer, #3 seems to be the winner. Taken during arrivals. www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/smart-living/the-photographer-behind-the-viral-bernie-photo-explains-how-it-almost-didnt-happen/ar-BB1d0JCEAt what point during the day was the photo taken? It was taken around 11:30 a.m., about a half hour before the actual swearing in began. It was during the arrivals. These folks are VIPs, they can just wander out of the Hill and be out on the platform. The actual inaugural platform is pretty much built onto the basement level of the Capitol, it’s a short walk for the Senators attending.

So how do we fight this Q misinformation? I feel there is no path to unity until everyone has an understanding of what is fact. They’re in a whole different reality. There is no way to get through to them with facts because their reality is whatever they want to believe.
Being factual has become an extreme and considered to be far left.

There is no way to get through to them with facts because their reality is whatever they want to believe. Being factual has become an extreme and considered to be far left. I was listening to a podcast and it was about how it's hard to work together on legislation when you don't agree on basic facts. For example, Republicans won't work on climate change because they won't even admit that it's an issue that needs to be addressed. Also, when Ted Cruz tweeted that Biden cares more about the citizens of Paris, he knew exactly what the Paris Climate Agreement was about and why it had the name Paris in it. He was counting on all of his followers not knowing and being able to manipulate them. Cruz knew exactly what he was doing. And again, fuck unity. Biden needs to get important shit done and then maybe try and work together. Trump lost the popular vote in a close election in 2016 and I never heard any talk of unity with the Democrats. So fuck the Republicans.

sctiger - I totally get what you’re saying and there is no part of me that can agree to disagree on racism and basic human rights. However, how do we get past this? The Q theories have taken a hold of a large chunk of our population and it’s destroying friendships, families, and our society. All of this based off lies. I feel like there has to be some sort of regulation on speech like this, similar to hate speech. I just don’t know if that’s realistic. And if it’s not, then I don’t know where we go from here. ETA - grammar is hard

There will always be conspiracy theorists but when social media algorithms introduce people to those groups by suggesting they might like the group they intro people to thoughts/groups that they might not have otherwise interacted with. I truly believe it isn't something we can do on am individual basis, because it's a systemic issue.

I do agree that it’s a systemic issue and starting with social media regulation would help. I’m just also thinking about the talking heads that spew this propaganda.

Definitely agree that social media is a big problem. I don't know what the practical answers are but I would love more accountability for people like Zuckerberg in terms of how they regulate their platforms. Platforms like Parler have allowed more people to become more extreme and that's a big problem too.

And I don’t know if y’all saw it but a Kennedy tweeted that Hank Aaron’s death was the result of the covid vaccine he received 19 days prior to his death. Even though there is no information linking the two and everything I read is that he passed peacefully in his sleep. The tweet still exists with no tag about misinformation. And there is no option to report misinformation on twitter. You can report for harassment, all the -isms, but there’s no option to report for “this tweet is made up”. I tweeted about this probably two years ago when I tried to report a photo of a politician that was a photoshop. I think it was Obama and some dictator. It’s a huge problem and will stop us from attacking the Q movement.
