I feel like New England just doesn't have this gas station love/loyalty. At least not southern NE. Or is there one I'm not thinking of? I don’t think it does.

I cannot think of a single gas station that we have in Illinois that I would go to for food. This makes me laugh because in our old neighborhood there was a BP and the gas station food court is called Urban Counter and it has like 4.5 stars on Yelp and DH and I always joke about going there for a date night dinner. Like what in the world - what people are rating a gas station restaurant as 4-5 stars????

I grew up in Boston, and gas stations for anything other than gas weren’t a thing. We had a lot of convenience store chains instead - Cumberland Farms, Store 24, etc. OMG STORE 24!! We had one on Thayer St. on campus in PVD.

No big chains but some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten has come from gas stations. FFTC? There was a Citgo station in my tiny hometown that made fried chicken and breakfast sandwiches and the greasiest most heart attack worthy hoop cheese biscuits you can imagine. So good. It was one of only two places in town to get prepared or fresh food. Citgo's do usually have tasty gas station food. And Sundrop.

In high school I worked in a sub express at the gas station by my house. Think subway knockoff but surprisingly better, IMO. We had pizza and pizza rolls too that sat in the warmer box thing until someone bought them. I would only eat those fresh out of the oven.

I cannot think of a single gas station that we have in Illinois that I would go to for food. I thought this was normal before moving to NM. People legitimately LOVE gas station burritos here, and they even have their own brand of hot sauce that national chains like Albertsons and Walmart carry. I'm not sure if Allsups is a big thing where you live but I grew up on Allsups chimichangas. So good.

I get what you're saying, but it really depends on what the vetting process turned up. Like, were they really worrisome posts/statements/whatever it was or is it just like "out of an abundance of caution" type thing. Do I think that some of these people could be discharged over this? Absolutely. But by and large, I dont think them being removed from this duty will warrant automatic removal.

Yeah, is it something like the guard member's crazy distant uncle posted some weird qanon conspiracy theory on FB, so they are using some great precaution, or the guard member is a white supremacist?

Per the article:
Two of the individuals were flagged due to "inappropriate" comments and texts, Army Gen. Daniel Hokanson told reporters after a defense official told CNN earlier Tuesday that they were removed over possible links to extremists.
The other 10 Guard members were removed for questionable behavior found in the vetting process, Hokanson said, emphasizing that this does not necessarily mean they have ties to extremists, but simply that they were "identified" and removed from service "out of an abundance of caution."

Sorry, I had the article up and then the kids distracted me before I got a chance to read and forgot it was up. Sounds like people were acting squirrely. (Is that a common term or just one my midwestern grandma passed on?)

My kid who will only eat 3 things freaking loves those sandwiches. I got a free one once on a weird promo and he scared the entire thing (he was two!) and anytime we are at Starbucks he asks if they have them.
