Keep me Company!!
I'm sitting here at my 3hr test. Almost one hour in.
Entertain me!
So far I'm almost done with my bookkeeping work I have been slightly procrastinating on. I have 3 more reports to finish. Then that's it for work.
I have a movie with me too.

It's my 5 year anniversary today! DD and I are having a relaxing at home and then when DH gets home we are dropping DD and the dog at my parents house for a sleepover! We booked a hotel downtown over looking the river! Going for Mexican tonight, a movie, and then brunch tomorrow! Wahoo!

Good luck with your 3hr test ssm !! Happy Anniversary doodlemommy! Your plans sound amazing - have so much fun!! I'm glad it is Friday, it has been a long week. The weekend will be busy though, we have a niece's bday party two hours away tomorrow, so that eats up the whole day. DH has football camp all next week and it's a grueling schedule so I'll be solo parenting most of the week, including swim lessons two nights. I'm.....really dreading next week. I get tired just thinking about it. I've been spoiled with sleeping in a bit and DH doing most daycare drop offs and pickups. He's also been doing about half (or more?) of the cooking. I'm SO not ready to leave our summer schedule!!

ssm Good luck on your 3hr test! doodlemommy Happy Anniversary! Hope you guys have a great time tonight - sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate 😀 End of the week over here! We get the keys to our new permanent residence on Monday. I am so excited to get moved in and settled in an actual, real living space before this baby arrives. The executive apartment has been a great temporary solution these past 2 months (since the horrible bug situation forced us to run screaming from our old place), but executive stay places always feel more like hotels and not really home. Plus, I miss all our stuff that has been in storage the past 2 months. Looking forward to making the new place our own! DH is going to IKEA over the weekend to pick out some area rugs for the new place. IKEA is too much walking for me (with my modified bedrest restrictions), but I am looking forward to helping him pick out rugs - and probably some art work - via FaceTime Squeeee...I love IKEA so much.

Taitai, How would you rate the quality of Ikea rugs? I've never been to an Ikea before (FFFC?), but I hear everyone talk about it. I just looked online and they have great prices for rugs.

ssm, good luck with the 3 hr test. I was amazed how the time actually flew for me...serially posting on here with all the prime chatter this past Monday! I didn't even get to run half the errands I planned to.

Taitai, so happy for you to finally be able to stake a home soon! Take it easy though and don't get too excited unpacking. thatgirlrachel, not rugs per se, but I have their sheep skin rugs for 10 yrs now and the price was right and DS now loves rolling and laying down in it. And girlfriend, you NEED to go to an IKEA already! kids bedding are the best priced and cutest.

doodlemommy Happy Anniversary! I brought DD into school with me to work. She was pretty content to draw with markers on my big chart paper and occasionally glance at Daniel Tiger playing in my computer monitor. My dad is coming down this weekend to help H stain/paint the swing set. It's supposed to be hot and humid so DD and I will probably just supervise from the house. My dad did offer to babysit one night so H and I can see a movie. I've seen nothing this summer so any good recommendations out there? We are open to anything!

H was able to come home for about 4 hours today so we headed out to Cheesecake Factory for my post-birthday lunch (which was yesterday and he was on the ship all day). I'm currently happily devouring some Banana Creme Cheesecake.
Sad panda note though, when we got home i had to drop him off at the ship and he will be gone until the 29th. I'm so over him being gone, we've done 2 9 month deployments in 4 years, I'm OVER IT.

cythe, Happy Belated Birthday, girlie!!! I hate that your H has had to be gone so much. Will he be home for quite a while after baby is here?

cythe, Happy Belated Birthday, girlie!!! I hate that your H has had to be gone so much. Will he be home for quite a while after baby is here? Thanks! Once he gets home from this underway (where they take the ship out to sea, do some tests and come back) he should move from 2 section duty (every other day) to 3 or 4 section (duty every 3 or 4 days) which is very exciting! As far as for when baby comes, that's a negative lol. He's actually scheduled to go away for a month 4 days before my due date. The Navy does give him 10 days of paternity leave though, which is nice. If baby cooperates, he can take that and then meet up with the ship while it's still out to sea.

cythe LT for support. So if baby comes while he's away (out at sea?) for that month, is he able to come back? Or are you hoping baby is a bit early and comes before he leaves?

cythe LT for support. So if baby comes while he's away for that month, is he able to come back? Or are you hoping baby is a bit early and comes before he leaves? In an ideal world, baby would come at 39 weeks or a few days before. Nothing crazy early or anything. That would allow him to get his 10 days of paternity leave, and then the ship would fly him out to it when his leave was up. Since his underway is so long (4 weeks) we don't think that they would do the same in reverse. So, if she came after 39 weeks, we don't think he would be allowed to fly off and come home. They might, but it's unlikely. My mom is coming down on the 16th of Oct (40+2) to stay for 10 days so that's a nice safety net. My doctor did say they will *consider* elective induction after 39 weeks if my body is already starting to get the process started, but that's just another variable. I know many would frown upon that, but it's a tempting option. He's missed so much in our 5 years together, you know?

cythe, so glad your Mom is coming. I don't blame you one bit for thinking about elective induction to ensure your H doesn't miss anything! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that baby Cythe decides to come a wee bit early and that is a decision you don't have to make.

Taitai , How would you rate the quality of Ikea rugs? I've never been to an Ikea before (FFFC?), but I hear everyone talk about it. I just looked online and they have great prices for rugs. I get all my rugs at Ikea right now. Between the cat and the kid I'm not willing to invest in anything good. For the most part I've been really happy with them and they hold up well. But if I get sick of them I don't feel guilty throwing them away and starting over. I have one in my living room now that we got two years ago when we moved into our house. It's been great. Just one small stain from when DS vomited chocolate milk.

Happy anniversary, doodlemommy! Happy belated birthday, cythe! Also, no judgement for an elective induction. My BFF is a doctor and she was induced at 39 weeks for both her kids. First one was born in 12 hours. Second was here in 3. She's planning the same for her third this October. I hope your H gets as much time with you and your little one as possible. You both deserve it. I got a massage this morning and it was EVERYTHING. Then I treated myself to Panera. Now I'M cleaning out the guest room so we can turn it into the nursery. Picking DS up from daycare early to get him a hair cut. Confession: I have off on Fridays in the summer and unless we are traveling or have something planned, DS goes to daycare. I use the day to clean and run errands and/or get some "me" time. And I love it.

I get all my rugs at IKEA or Homegoods.
I did a play date at a friends about 45 minutes away specifically because she had borrowed my Doppler and the whole point was for me to pick it up. Guess who left without the Doppler! Rage at myself. 😡

I failed the one-hour GD test. :sad trombone: Oh nooo. Is there a chance that you'll pass the 3hr or notsomuch? I really don't know. I passed the one hour with a pretty low number last pregnancy. I eat mostly low carb paleo to manage my autoimmune disease so I eat very low carb normally. I increase my carbs and include dairy during pregnancy because we both need them -- but I just eat more starchy veggies for the carbs, I still eat little-to-no processed foods. I go back next Wednesday for the three hour test. ETA My result was 175. They said I needed to be below 135 to pass. That number (i.e., my result of 175) seems pretty high to me......

cythe, happy belated birthday! Big hugs about your hubs deployment schedule esp. about baby being due. At 38-39 wks, baby is pretty much done cookin. Do what you need to do. It's such a huge milestone in your lives and I would be utterly sad if hubs can't be there to share. Bubs is an IVF baby right? They're commonly early right? I never made it far enough so don't know.

CoachTsWife, big bummer! My clinics threshold for passing 1 hr which I also miserably failed is 140. Mine was 165. I'm still waiting for a call 😡 About my 3 hr. But wondering since I have an appt. Monday, they're waiting to Talk about it then. My results are on the portal and from what I can tell, I passed all 4 draws...2 Draws i marginally passed so I'm thinking I'm borderline but really don't know how it's evaluated. Fingers crossed you pass your 3 hr.

blackmamba, isn't daycare contract weekly anyways? That's from my understanding for when we begin DS preschool, I would do the same and get all errands done so you can spend quality family time over the weekend!

She is an IVF baby. I've actually never heard of them typically coming earlier or not, maybe that's true! Either way, my stress level is way high even trying to plan for October. Everyone keeps asking me "when do you want X" and such and I'm like... uh, there's literally 3 variables at play here. I have no idea!

cythe, I'm wondering if it depends on what your dx in the beginning was for ivf for the higher risk of PTL. I now am remembering after our transfers that it was somthing that was def made clear to me but then again I was geriatric so it could be lots of factors involved. Anyways I really hope it works in your favor and will pray hard that your hubs will have a chance to be with you. Also glad your mom is able to come and help. You'll be needing it.

I feel like I should just give this strange place, that I've never been, all of my money. Unfortunately they don't have everything on their website. Get their catalog mailed to you. Also their design aesthetic isn't everyone's taste. We have a bunch of items for DS that are great bargains imo however, 2.5hrs away isn't such a good deal. If you or anyone have any questions about IKEA, just ask me 😀. I'm super exited about the possibility of a store near me. I can get all the marzipan for a fraction. Unfortunately I have 10 packs in the basement now which was supposed to be used for DS bday cake 😩. So sad we aren't able to have his party this yr due to me being laid up.

doodlemommy happy anniversary! Ours is Sunday! cythe ((hugs)) I didn't realize you were having to deal with DH being deployed. So glad your mom will be there no matter what. CoachTsWife bummer with my last pregnancy I failed the 1 hour both times but passed the 3 so FX you do the same. What did you eat before the test?

I get off early on Fridays so I was able to finish my homework for the weekend before DD's swim lessons earlier. Now I get to sit on my tail and enjoy some trash TV tonight while H is down the street at a friend's. I love nights where I have nothing to do. I might get crazy and make my self an ice cream sundae later but that will be the extent of my energy exertion.
