Surgery tentatively schedule for February 3rd. He said the hospital is discouraging non emergent surgeries, but since I’m having definite vision problems and it’s steadily declining and I’m having other issues, he’ll have no problem getting it scheduled. My length of stay depends on my recovery. It’s usually a night or two in icu and then a couple of days in a regular room. So 3 days on the low side and 5ish otherwise. He said with covid the way it is, there likely won’t be any icu beds available but they have another floor/wing separate from covid patients for the surgical patients. He said I would definitely receive the same level of care, so it’s more about what I’m comfortable with.
Holy shit.

clucky so many hugs. I hope the girls have guardian ad litwms at least sharing their preference of custody with the court. Not all states care but as they age they usually listen a bit more. (Even before 18) LaRo422 fingers crossed for a quick, easy procedure. Hugs!

Thanks everyone. I’m struggling with if I should message her. I messaged at the start of the year to see how SFH was going and responses are hit or miss. I’ve been a teenage girl before and don’t want to push my love onto them too hard. Ugh. Need to stop overthinking, but bro can be a bit of a dick and balancing it all is exhausting.

I just noticed this thread. clucky I had a similar experience recently with my niece. Pm me if you want to chat. I would message her even if it’s to say I love you and I’m here if you want to chat. LaRo422 I’m so sorry. I hope you get relief soon and your hospital stay is uneventful.

Just finished and it went great. They were actually like "so we also just want to add in some speech services too so we can monitor him". Oh, twist my arm.
He gets to take this cool class called life and learning strategies where they teach organization, socialization, and life skills. They also placed him in advanced Geometry and honors biology.

My SIL is in the hospital with postpartum pre-e. As of last night, they had her BP under control with magnesium. I feel so bad for her. She was having a lot of BF issues, and now she’s away from her baby. I can’t even imagine how hard that must be.

She was having a lot of BF issues, and now she’s away from her baby. I can’t even imagine how hard that must be. Make sure she meets with hospital LC about how to keep things going. They should provide a hospital pump, since it's for her while she's in the hospital. And help her with supply, storing milk, etc. When I was in the hospital with postpartum pre-e, I just took my baby with me and made him a permanent guest in my room and dared them to say anything. Of course, with covid, I wouldn't do that. But it made the point that baby and breastfeeding success were important to me, and they made sure everything that I got was breastfeeding friendly. Hugs to her, baby and family.

But I was able to maintain my breastfeeding relationship so if that’s important to her, all is not lost. I’m glad she went to the hospital. I had no idea I was as sick as I was and it’s a silent killer. I’m glad she is getting the care she needs. Keeping your family in my thoughts.

Wow I’ve missed a lot. @clycky I’m so sorry about your niece. I hope she gets the help she needs and you can be a positive support to her, if she allows you in. LaRo422 ahhh good luck with the surgery! I am hopeful and excited for you. I think hospitals are trying really hard to contain Covid so I would try to not even factor that into my anxiety. Brain surgery alone is enough anxiety. I hope it works and you come out swimmingly! karabear I’m sorry for your sister and the baby. It sucks. I’m glad she got in to get help. PP preE is so scary.
