It goes right to my Amazon account which won't let me link. I'm going to try to figure it out

My brother and sister got their second dose of Moderna yesterday. Both feel like shit today. My brother called off work, he's a PT. He said 8/9 people covering his floors of the hospital are also out because of it. Update: they both feel much better today.

Anyone have a rec for N95s or the 94s? I want to make sure I get real ones, if that makes sense

This double mask talk has me down in the dumps for some reason. It feels like a backslide when we thought things would be better by now. And then when I went Googling to try to buy N95s, I came across multiple articles saying they are still not recommending the general public buy N95s because there still aren't enough for HCW. Why hasn't this gotten better since March?? 😔
Anyway, +1 to looking for links for the knockoffs. Are the KN95s and others snug to your face like an N95? And does the weird vertical duckbill shape get smooshed down if you wear a cloth or surgical mask on top of it?

My KN95 isn't super snug like an N95 but it's definitely decent. I got mine at Costco. I figured you could return them if they were awful. I bought a box of 100 back in November for a decent price. I've been excessively masking for a while as I have no chill

XP from Politics Covid: I have a dilemma I’m hoping you can help with. H just called me and said one of his employees, who was out today, but in M-W, tested positive today. H and I are trying to determine if he should quarantine separately (we have a nearby place), or assume we’ve already been exposed and we all stay in the same house.
For some background info, I am high risk and likely to end up on a vent per my dr.

Either way if I were high risk I’d have him stay somewhere else at least for a few days since it’s easily available.

Have him test on Monday (5 days after most recent exposure) or if he becomes symptomatic. There's evidence that viral load is correlated with illness severity so reducing your exposure is still really important and relevant. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Does anyone have a link for disposal kids masks that aren't huge? I tried the Dr Talbot ones but they were way too big for my small kids. They almost fit me. The reviews on Amazon are so mixed its hard to know whats good.

Actually under a PAPR we don't typically wear masks 😬 PAPRs are in short supply though so the norm is N95, surgical mask, and face shield. ETA: That's only on the COVID unit, in regular ICU it's just surgical mask and eye protection or face shield.

The few I had gotten from MIL I donated to my pediatrician’s office back at the beginning of this. Just looking for the Chinese or Korean versions I can get online, but I know there’s also knock-off/not as effective ones online so thought I’d ask if anyone had success getting them somewhere

Those are what we wear when we have a covid patient with a surgical mask on top. Our N95s are only allowed if we do an aerosolizing procedure 😕

All this talk of double masking has me in a panic spiral. People here don't fucking wear one mask let alone two.
My mom gave me a 5 pack of KN95s that I've been saving in case one of us has a positive or close contact. I havent tried them out yet. Now I'm wondering if I should get more.

I actually thought they were cloth, I know nothing about them. Do they keep your N95s locked up or what? We have ours in an equipment room. I would probably wear mine all the time w/ a COVID pt but not count it as one of my 5 shifts I'm allowed to wear it before replacing it or something. I wear mine on code calls and RRT calls but I don't count it as one of my 5 shifts. I'm actually still rocking my original one from October 🤢 Do you guys get face shields or goggles?
