Merry Christmas eve! I'm at work today. L was up at 5:45 soooo excited. Hoping she sleeps in a bit more tomorrow but highly doubtful!

I just turned on California Christmas. I think it'll be a day of watching Christmas movies and cleaning and organizing my office since we don't have many patients.

Morning. Baby girl has a stuffy nose, so now I’m spiralling in to thinking ‘what if...’ And imaging symptoms that aren’t there for myself... I am sooooooo over this 😡.
Currently the little ducklin is snuggling on top of me in a velvet onesie with gingerbread men on it while watching Christmas movies. I need to remind myself that things could be a whole lot worse.
Christmas movies for the kids are on the menu for the rest of the day. I’ve ordered a huge amount of sushi for tonight, and we have Ben & Jerry’s for tonight, can’t wait.

Merry Christmas Eve!
Evie yelled at me from across the house...her knees really hurt this morning. So I warmed up her bear to put on them and they seem a little better now.
I need to make a jello salad and vegetable dish to take to my moms tonight. Then prep some things for MIL to come over tomorrow.

Morning! My ILs are dropping gifts for the kids and if they are comfortable, they may come in to watch the kids open them (masks all around, of course). Then the boys are off to the barbershop while I make a meat pie for dinner, then we'll make a quick stop to drop presents off with BIL's family. After that, we're decorating sugar cookies and my brother is going to drop presents for the boys. The rain is supposed to start sometime this afternoon so hopefully everyone will be heading home before then.
All these brief distanced visits are better than nothing, but honestly today they are really bumming me out. I realized this morning that the last time I hugged my brother was last Christmas Eve, 2 days before we found out about my Dad's cancer.

joelies I was just saying that to my sister! I can’t believe how long it has been since I’ve hugged my parents! Or anyone outside the kids and my husband for that matter.

I'm making broccoli cheddar soup today and FiL will join us for soup and sandwiches.
We cheated and opened 2 gifts last night. MH got me a family portrait Simpsons style. I've been wanting one and it's cool. They could have done a little better on the likeliness of MH though. They made him look bald. I gave him the pet portrait. He and the girls loved it and we've already got them hanging up.

Morning! We had the Holiday donuts this morning. I’m getting ready to get a couple of things and pick up our Christmas Eve and Day meal. C and L will be making cookies today for Santa since C forgot to the other day. We will open some presents tonight and open Santa gifts pre-zoom call and presents from my parents and sister T tomorrow morning when we have the zoom call.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
I’m heading out to the grocery store in a couple minutes to get all the food for the next few days of baking, cooking and eating!
A couple gifts to drop off and my Mom is coming to drop off the gifts for the kids and have a distance visit. We’ve decided to not have Christmas together and it’s killing me, blah. She drives me nuts but I also dont want her to be alone.
And could you believe it, the last minute puzzle from the UK made it here last night 🤯! I’m so happy to have to to wrap for Mom.

Not Christmas related at all, but if you watched the movie After, the second one is on Netflix. I rewatched After last night and started the sequel, but I had to go to bed because it was so late.

I think its giving her some confidence in her body and ability that she was lacking. They sent me a link to do exercises at home, which she enjoys as well. Thanks for asking! I think she was sore this morning because it's cold AF this morning, coldest morning of the year. Her and H can tell me when the weather is changing by their body aches. |

My ILs came by and we just met them outside since it's currently sunny and not terribly cold. The boys opened one present each and managed to pick the best ones. Colin got a new marble set he'd been eyeing and Chase got a tool set with a chainsaw. The set even came with a mask, headphones and protective goggles. I need to get a video of him decked out and running around the house with the chainsaw running - it's amazing. Ha.
My meat pie is prepped and sitting in the fridge for tonight and the boys are still out. I think I'm going to sit my butt down for a solid half hour and relax before finding something else to do.

Morning!
I was the first one up so I had my coffee in peace with the TV morning shows. It was nice. I had to run out to grab the ham and turkey slices from honey baked before the store got crazy. I’m back home and not sure what all I will do today. I’ve been putting off organizing the pantry, so I may do that if I feel up to it.
The boys don’t know it, but I will let them open up the gifts from SIL and the grandparents this evening so they can play with those before all the other stuff tomorrow. They are gonna be excited.

mamabear We don't have any christmas eve traditions. This year we're going to do a movie night with the kids and make popcorn. We'll probably let them open up one gift from us tonight.

Hi hi!
I got up early and set up most of the things I need for our cocktail party tonight (it’s just the four of us but I’m calling it that to make it feel fancy) and prepped some of the sides and the dessert for tomorrow.
Kids are playing the Wii with MH while I do my nails and get out of these sweatpants.

I stayed up way late last night watching Home for Christmas. I did the first two episodes left the dump brush, and then had to switch to the Norwegian version because it was killing me that their mouths didn’t match the words which didn’t match the subtitles.
I got to the end with the roses and it was almost midnight but I pushed ahead and watched the first episode of the second season because I needed to know who it was and I don’t think I have it figured out yet. At least I hope I don’t.

Dh is at work, which I didn’t realize he was working today. He says he always does but I don’t recall him working this day for many years. He has a thousand hours of time off so I don’t know why he didn’t take it. I’m bored to tears and not feeling the holidays at all. C doesn’t want to go outside even though tomorrow is going to be rainy and windy. We may lose power tomorrow too, which will be a real 2020 icing on the cake I want to just sleep through the holiday if I’m honest. I’m going to try to get a walk in when Dh gets home and before it gets dark. Hopefully I can snap out of it. In the meantime I am faking it til I make it. C and I wrapped the cats presents and one for Dh. Then I made sugar cookies. Dh is grabbing our take and bake food on his way home. Usually we are at MILs but this year we are doing the same as tgrimes and will have a movie night and then let C open one present. |

We always spend Christmas Eve at my parents. We drive home late at night so we wake up at our house Christmas morning.
Growing up Christmas Eve was when we did the big family celebration and a couple of times went to midnight mass.
This year it's just us and FiL.
