Ok ok. I’ll name her eagles. Thank you. I've only been asking my friends to name a baby after me for nearly 10 years. I'll never have my own, it's my only chance!

I need some baby stuff but there is too much stuff on the market now lol. I need a new infant car seat and am hoping to get one I can click into our BOB, but our BOB is old and I have no idea if there will be something compatibl. I do like the idea of having a bassinet attachment but not sure if that will require a whole new stroller. I do like the look of the Uppa baby vista. Our Britax stroller is kind of falling apart and had a recalled part. I wouldn’t mind replacing it.
I think I am going for the Snoo, although I keep hearing in some of my FB groups that the swaddle positioner isn’t deemed safe. I can’t find any real answer either way. Everyone raves about it.
I think those are the only big things on my list.
Well and a bunk bed for the big kids.

Baby gear is evolving so much that whatever worked 5-6 years ago is no longer getting produced. I’m so bummed out I have to get rid of my city mini stroller to get a double now that I’m having twins.

thatgolfb there is debate on whether the swaddle clips are considered a positioner as defined by the AAP in their recommendations for safe sleep. There is no clear answer because the AAP doesn’t specify a snoo and snoo is adamant that it is not a positioner because it keeps a baby flat on its back vs other positioners that usually angle a baby, etc. I am biased of course but I never felt as though my babies were unsafe in the snoo swaddle. I have other tips but won’t take over the thread now when you’ve still got a lot of time. Lol.

I didnt really like cloth diapers at first with the umbilical cord and the circ, but I will say some of the the newborn cloth diapers I bought last for quite a while and made it worth it to me. I used newborn Thirsties covers, imagine covers, and Nickis diapers covers from like 7lbs until at least 15 lbs, which was about 5-6ish months. I had a few AIO newborn diapers I loved as well but they’re definitely not as cost effective. Nickis diapers has some bamboo prefolds that are awesome. So if you do feel like trying newborn cloth I do think it can be done cheaper than disposable, especially when you add in being able to sell them after. The things I’ve sold I’ve gotten at least half what I spent. I wish I would’ve known you and nonniedee were going to be with child/ren and I would’ve saved more to send to y’all 😭 The disposable I like are pampers swaddlers and Huggies has a more affordable one that I like. They have Mickey Mouse in them or someshit I was pretty minimalistic with my cloth diapering. I loved the flip covers and used a combo of their inserts and trifolded prefolds or flats. Those were my everyday method at home. Whenever we went out I used bumgenous pockets. I have a few of those. Not like a days worth though. Loved them so much. I need to go to storage and figure out exactly how much I have of everything. I might need to buy more to last for a few days. I wanted to start right away but wasn’t sure how tiny the babies are going to be so I don’t know if I should use disposable while they grew into their regular one-size ones. My husband loved the cloth diapers. He’s so excited to use them again. I only say this because I assume the twin babies are going to be little, but that is a situation I feel investing a bit at first in newborn cloth can be worth it. Especially with twins and the amount of diapers they go through. My son was born a bit over 5 lbs. I started putting him in NB cloth at about 6 lbs and phased out the NB covers 5-6 months in. With twins I feel like 10-15 covers would be good and 40 prefolds per day on the high side. Depending on how often you do laundry I guess. But that amount with decent covers and prefolds is less than $300. And to last probably 6 months for your babies is so much cheaper than disposables. The main reason I’m for NB cloth is because I kept trying the one size on my boy and hated how bulky it was until he was much older. So if I was using disposable until I felt like they weren’t so bulky it would’ve been like 5-6 months. Which is a lot of disposables. BUT. Disposables are also cool and fine if you wanna say fuck newborn cloth, lol. We still use disposable at night because I just don’t wanna deal with nighttime cloth. So I’m not trying to sway where you don’t wanna be swayed. Also I probably have a couple one size covers (flip and Bumgenius) that I would love to send you if you’re interested.

Honestly I am all for safe sleep, but the groups that are against it are militant in the way that CSFTL is militant about car seat safety, if that makes sense. I am strongly leaning toward getting the Snoo.

We still have our bouncer and pack and play with changing table so those were the other things I felt were important in the early stages (and honestly just specifically for our house, I wanted the pack and play in the living room).

For people wondering about the snoo — my 5 week old is sleeping 4-5 hour stretches (usually 3ish, then 5, then 3ish overnight) in the snoo, but we just use a regular swaddle and I put socks over the clips. Ok talk to me. So you aren’t snapping the baby in? We are also doing the snoo but I’m only hesitant cause of the snap in/sleep safe thing. I can use it and not snap her in? Or those that do snap them in - it feels totally comfortable for you? I have the nursery done in my mind and we are using mostly stuff we bought for my late son (thankfully I’m extra and we have a gold crib and white everything else so it’ll work for what I want to do in her room). We also have the britax stroller and car seat still unopened in the box. I got her curtains from pottery barn and those are in the closet, and the wall decor, I need to decide on a rug. . I ordered my breast pump from insurance (I went with the modif, if anyone also did?) we got literally a years worth of hand me down clothes from friends and they are washed and also piled in the closet - I don’t need to buy one thing. I feel like I’m in between being ready and not at all lol. I do need to get the bassinet done and ordered

We already had the adapters for our Britax B Safe 35 so we bought a new one of those. They changed them and we ended up needing new bases but it still worked with our existing BOB adapters. So it met my needs, lol.

Honestly this may be a super dumb question because I don’t actually know exactly how the Snoo works. 😂

I do need to get the bassinet done and ordered So obviously the happiest baby people would disagree, but we haven’t snapped him in yet and it works fine on the motion limited setting. We haven’t turned it up to full motion yet and, honestly, as of right now, we won’t until things stop working they way they are. If we had it on full motion, we’d probably want to clip him down because it’s a lot of motion. We put baby socks over the clips to “engage the snoo” and that solves that. (We are also roomsharing for at least the first 4-6 months, so I can hear him at all times. For the mornings when he’s still snoo-ing and I go downstairs, we have a monitor where I can check to make sure I can see his face.)(He doesn’t nap in the snoo.) Obviously, I have a five week old, so I can’t talk about what it’ll be like with an older baby, but it’s been working well for us. I couldn’t bring myself to clip down a fresh from the hospital baby because of the positioning thing and also because I’m a crunchy gentle bleeding heart type and he yelled when we tried it the one time. Oh this helps. Ignore me.

We didn’t pay water at our last apartment so we bought a portable washer and air dried all of it after. We even did it overnight. But yeah I’ve seen women shell out thousands for one diaper. It’s nuts. Or they’ll have a crap ton of them. Maybe because I never had the space for it. Hell I still don’t. Lol

Honestly this may be a super dumb question because I don’t actually know exactly how the Snoo works. 😂 So the nice thing about the snoo is that it will automatically up the white noise (and would up the motion if we let it) when he fusses. (It will shut off if he cries for longer than a couple minutes.) We also really like the app that shows us when it was engaged and lets us manually up the noise and stuff if we hear him starting to merp a little bit. I 100% do not believe that this is a “necessary” appliance. But I’m really glad we have it. Honestly, the big selling point for us now that we’ve been using it for five weeks is that it’s cut down on the length of time we’re awake in the middle of the night tremendously. With our first, it would take awhile to make sure he was totally settled after eating and then we would rock him and shoosh at him and stuff and then hope he didn’t wake up for the transfer. Now, he falls asleep after eating, we check to make sure his little wrap thing is cozy and we plunk his ass down in the robot bed and go back to sleep. Sold!

Ok so I didn’t read all the replies so I apologize if this gets repetitive.
I was in a couple very active SNOO FB groups while we had ours. I recommend joining one because people ask questions daily and they can be really helpful. Also it helps to have the community of people where there is a variety of success rates with babies so you don’t feel alone if your baby isn’t loving it the same as others. There were some people who didn’t strap in the baby and used a different swaddle. I agree that would only work on the motion limiter setting which they recommend for the babies first month or so. We kept the motion limiter on until they were about 6 weeks I think. I would not use that method after turning off the motion limiter. They move a lot and it would defeat the purpose of all of it. IMO I was never worried about it being unsafe keeping the babies on their backs. The one thing I will say is they definitely get a little bald spot 😂 it goes away after you stop the snoo though haha.
I personally used the snoo swaddle and a second swaddle. It isn’t something that happiest baby came up with but all the FB groups recommend it. Mainly because the velcro straps of the snoo swaddle aren’t amazing so many babies gain the strength as they get bigger to sort of bust their little hands out. It’s not dangerous really but the baby then usually wakes up. So we tried a few swaddles but by far the best was the Ollie swaddle and then swaddle over that with the snoo swaddle. They aren’t cheap but definitely worth it. Many in the snoo groups recommend them.
I bought the leg lifts which helped a lot with early days and all the reflux and grunting they do. Tuna cans or a 2x4 work just as well though.
I recommend buying multiples of the small and medium sleep sacks so you don’t have to worry about laundry, since they will spit up. same with the bassinet sheets. A lot of people sell those in the snoo bst group so keep an eye out there too.
Don’t be upset if your baby isn’t sleeping through the night by the end of the first week. It’s normal for babies to need to wake the same amount as they might otherwise for eating. But you should notice by the end of the first month or month and a half that they are sleeping longer stretches. My babies are good sleepers anyway but I do think the snoo helped them STTN by 12 weeks.
I highly highly recommend using the snoo for nap times as well, once they are out of the super sleepy newborn nap anywhere phase. I was skeptical but we moved them to all naps in the snoo at around 8 weeks and it was awesome. At least three 2 hours naps until we consolidated into less naps. I think it helps them a lot to have all sleep in the snoo until you wean them off.
We didn’t really use the weaning feature. YMMV but we were able to just move them to the cribs cold turkey. It was a couple nights of adjusting but nothing bad. We did it at 4.5 months because they were ready and the snoo wasn’t helping anymore (you’ll know). Others wait til 5-6 months.
My babies didn’t go through a 4 month regression either with the snoo. Others do but many say it’s not bad. My babies have been able to go to sleep from completely awake without rocking or shushing etc since they have been born because of the snoo.
Anyway I 10/10 recommend the snoo as the best luxury baby item on the market right now. That thing is magic.

I love reading about all the pregnancies! I just wanted to chime in- we used the SNOO from day 1 and my 6 month old still woke/wakes about every 2 hours. I actually just moved him to a crib this weekend. I know I’m in the minority, but just let it be known it’s not magical 100% of the time 🙁.

I’m due with #3 January 26th. My older two are 7 and DS has already decided he will be the one to wear the baby carrier and calm down baby sister, feed her, change her, and watch her while I nap. DD decided she will be the one to play with her but not any of that other boring stuff lol. I have GD this time and all my numbers are going up so I’m anxious to see what is said tomorrow at my next appointment. I’m ready for her to be here safely in my arms. I’m officially on baby mm watch.T minus 16 days from due date
