Morning. I ventured out to meet a friend for the first time in a month. My parents rented a cabin for the weekend, so their house was available. We ordered lunch, sat far apart and had facemasks on when not eating. It was nice to be out of the house.

My husband took out the lasagna from the freezer, I’m not feeling the lasagna, but I’m also not tossing it. It was frozen solid, would you girls dare to eat t tomorrow?

Dh never told his mom we wouldn’t be at Christmas Eve. So annoying. She texted this morning asking what time we would be there and that it would only be us and his brothers family. That would be 10 people total. Nope to that. Dh responded that he had Covid tests pending at work. Stupid excuse. How about numbers are out of control and we already know a person who died? Or just, hey we want to keep you and us healthy?

As punishment I am making him install our Blink cameras today, when it is cold.

Morning. C took care of the kids until he had to get ready for work. So I was able to finish my paper that’s due tonight at 7pm. So that was nice. So week 1 is done. Technically I have the next 2 weeks off but I’m hoping to get ahead. However the teacher hasn’t released anything past week 3

Hiiiii. We finished decorating the ornaments this morning and the first coat of gloss is drying in the garage right now. The boys also read their story from Grandma and had their cocoa and Swedish cookies. DH ordered a couple more presents today and I need to do a bit more wrapping but I feel pretty relaxed for 5 days before Christmas.

It's snowing again. I was grumpy that it was supposed to rain but I'm not sure this is better!!

Finishing the sugar cookie bake now. Cadence said she was just the helper and she needed breaks. So she rolled a couple cookies and bolted.
She did however decorate some silicone molds that I put melted white chocolate in. Those little chocolates came out super cute.

Afternoon all.

I went into the office this morning for a couple hours, did a couple porch drops of baking and now getting fresh pretzels to take home from this amazing bakery downtown near my work. Yum! The suburbs ain’t got nothing on the independent restaurants in the heart of the city.

Also, I love the music they have in these shows! I’m currently watching it again to get all the songs. My music library is so diverse cause of shows like this.

We just had a Zoom Christmas party to replace the one with have with FILs side of the family every year. Luckily it’s a fairly tech savvy group. DHs aunt and uncle set up a main room and there were four breakout 20min sessions that were randomized. It worked out pretty well but we were never in a small group with MIL and FIL. There was also a very sweet photo slideshow tribute to DHs uncle that passed on Easter. There were never services so it was nice to have that. The two parts that fell flat were a couple of games but I think for a Zoom party it was pretty good.

ETA: DHs cousin is going to be in the special olympics (I’m not sure for what) in 2022 at Disney so we are hoping for a big family trip to support her.

Baking and clean up are done. I've got a load of towels washing and a load drying.
I'm relaxing on the couch while Cadence and Neil are in the other room playing an old school computer game.
Tonight we're doing the city's light trail. It's all drive through this year.

The kids are in B’s room on their ipads, MH is outside doing who knows what, dinner is in the oven and I’m lounging on the new sectional ALONE watching Godmothered. I’m certain this wont last long but this is delightful.

Julia has been calling B ‘Benny’ lately and it cracks me up every time. He pretends to hate it but it’s clear he loves the one on one with her.
