Morning all.
I was going to take the day off to finish the shopping but work is busy so didnt work out today, hopefully tomorrow. MH is home and tinkering in the garage, his new thing is a garage heater that he has mounted, he bought it and told me that it was for the kids to play in the garage. Well its coming out that its not exactly all for the kids, its cause the garage floor (cement) being wet is annoying to him. It's clear in these moments we are both type A's.
So just another day of work and Christmas movies around here.

guster, I'm laughing! Was it the onesie causing the rash? SSDD here. We are going to get a foot or so of snow tonight into tomorrow so I am sure C will be home. Hopefully the roads will get cleared quick enough so we can go sledding. They take forever to plow here. I'm also hoping we don't lose power since it is so cold. I convinced DH to get takeout from our Italian place in Boston so we have good leftovers tomorrow when we are snowed in. We no longer have snow days since we can distance learn but I may just call C in absent tomorrow. I'll see what things look like.

Updated Hallmark review: Christmas Waltz - excellent A Timeless Christmas - meh Christmas with the Darlings - cute! Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater - not bad, fun fact I knew the main actor when we were all in junior high. The Christmas House - so, so good Christmas by Starlight - I loved this one. Holy and Ivy - super cute, heart warming for sure Meet Me at Christmas - I really liked this one, a nice story. Happiest Season is really great. Love that Dan Levy is in it and the songs by Tegan and Sara are amazing. I'm secretly loving Canadians are being highlighted I cannot be the only one watching Christmas movies!?

Oh and if anyone has a good workout legging that is full length with pockets, let me know. I have some elevate leggings from Old Navy that I love but they are 7/8 length. I looked today for the full length and they are $34.99, which is outrageous for ON leggings in my opinion. I may just wait for a sale since I do know I like the fit a lot.

Thanks for laughing along with me, everyone. wedding, he thinks it was the best. Probably too much fleece to sleep in (because I basically nest blankets on top of me, also). I did wake up sweaty in the middle of the night and changed so he thinks the sweat might’ve caused the rash. I did send pictures on to my dermatologist but she’s always so busy that I wanted a quick answer.

So we are only five days into distance-learning and I’m very impressed with it. I can’t get over how good the kids are for the teachers. I think it helps that the times are significantly limited, and she only works with half of the class at a time. We are also getting a ton of snow, which always makes me a little nervous because our driveway is so steep, but even more so this time around because the winds are supposed to pick up.
MHS school will call a snow day, even though they are doing remote learning, but for Josie’s school her teacher asked to just meet with them for 40 minutes in the morning and then they can enjoy the snow. She put together a list of YouTube books for them to listen to once they come in and can cuddle up on the couch with hot chocolate. It’s so cute.

I just tried to make my holiday menus. This is the first time in my entire life ( every single year of my 43) that we will not see my family for Christmas Eve.
I can’t replicate the menu — it’s hard to make the same “feast” so I think we might just have a cocktail party here, and incorporate some of the traditional items. It doesn’t feel as special but I guess it will have to do.
And as much as I love to cook I don’t want to make a big meal on Christmas Eve, then put together a make ahead breakfast for Christmas morning and then again another big meal on Christmas Day.

Fun Christmas movie fact: I put on Miracle on 34th Street the other night with Cadence in the room. Completely forgot that Mrs. Walker has a conversation with Mr. Gailey about not filling her child's head with fairy tales and fantasies like Santa Claus. I mean, I know the whole movie is about proving that Santa is real, but completely forgot about the convo saying he's not. I'm an idiot. Luckily, my kid was consumed in her tablet and didn't even hear it. I did however turn it off and move on to Virgin River.

I keep trying to watch, but I hate that it takes me 3 hours to watch a 1.5 hour movie because of interruptions from the kids and H. I started Home for Christmas and I like it, but it bugs me that the words aren’t matching their mouth. And the. I have subtitles on and the subtitles are a little different, too. Definitely finishing it when I have more time.

Hey. S had her Christmas program this morning. She did much better than expected, actually singing but not many dance moves. We stood in the back and didn’t stick around long after. I can’t remember if I told you guys, but H stepped on her glasses and bent them up pretty good. So after school we will go to target and get her a new pair. I’m just glad we didn’t order her a new pair yet after her eye exam so insurance will cover them. MIL told me that FIL got his covid vaccine yesterday! He didn’t have much of a reaction, just a sore arm. I got an email at work yesterday saying I will get an email from the CMO when it’s my turn to get the shot. So hopefully soon, perks of working in healthcare. lahdeedah have you been given a timeline or anything of when you’ll be getting it?

I’ve heard really good things about the aerie offline leggings, there are different compression/activity levels, and want to try those out eventually.

Our kids can go back January 18th to hybrid or full in person, if they can meet added requirements. Curious what our district will decide. Sports can start back on the 4th, gyms can open but masks are required. And still no indoor dining but outdoor dining is allowed at 50%..... in Minnesota... in December 🤔

I have a few pairs of the aerie offlines too. I like them for my WFH uniform but not working out. For workout, I got a few pairs of the seamless workout tight from the VS pink line that are full length and cute! But they won’t need your req of having pockets wedding.

Snow is still coming down here. A lot more than I expected! And B played outside for just over and hour so that was great that she was able to stay entertained.

Waiting in the car while DS is at the orthodontist. The snow is supposed to start any minute so I’m glad we got this appointment in first. I stayed up late last night wrapping. I still have more to do but I feel good now that it will get done.

I just cannot spend $$$ on workout clothes. I do wear them for more than just workout, but even on sale I’m like $55?!? I do have one pair and they are lovely, but not spending that for multiple pairs. I do have a pair of joggers from there that I love and will spend on another pair because I love them for a casual look.

I got more wrapping done yesterday so I'm done with everything minus the Santa stuff but I'm waiting for that because I'll have to get more creative with hiding once it's wrapped.
We decorated a gingerbread house yesterday. I was expecting a shitshow but bless the Costco kit--it was fully formed and ready to decorate. We much preferred this way than a falling apart house. Cass grossed me out by eating the free-form gingerbread girl and tree. That stuff has to be so stale.
Lots of talk about the vaccine here at my work. Some people who work with Covid patients are already getting them. I'll probably get it at one of my jobs next month. I know someone who is getting it tomorrow.
Snow talk is always so weird for me to imagine it because a "good" snow for us is about 3 inches and we're lucky if we get that once a year. Since we're stuck at home anyway I would love a snowstorm.
I emailed my boss' boss today about telework. I'm nervous. I want him to call me so I can see where we stand regarding full time TW since my boss is worthless.

I really wanted to get the girls on the slopes this year. I've never had so much time off for a stay-cation since we can't go anywhere and I thought that'd be a great socially distanced activity. Two of the nearest resorts aren't open to anyone but passholders yet. Disappointing.

So M’s teachers has been out all week. He told me. I was suspicious because what are the chances that both his teacher and the assistant are both absent?? But we had not been contacted by the school so I didn’t put too much thought into it.
Guess who just got a call that someone in his class tested positive and he can’t ride the bus home? Yep. I’m sure that someone is one, if not both, of the teachers. At first I was like really, two days before school lets out for break? But at least it happened right before an already planned break. They are masked all day in school except for a short lunch, so chances are slim that he will get it.
