Today one of M's teachers asked me if I was going to do a daycare birthday party. The thought hadn't crossed my mind. I'd love to hear what people do or are planning. He'll move up to the next room after his birthday.

I know that other kids have done this. It pretty much means they bring in cupcakes for everyone and they sing happy birthday.
J's birthday falls on a Saturday, so I would have to do it on Friday. I may just skip it thought.

M's is a Sunday, so I'd do the same.

We used to take in cupcakes. Now the center supplies them once a month to celebrate that months birthdays.

I send in cupcakes. They can have a "party" with that. But that is all I do.

If ds's birthday fell on a weekend right now, I would skip it. DD's fell on Sunday last week and she ASKED if she could send in cupcakes on Monday. So of course I had do.
But I wanted to skip it.

Last year I sent in donut holes for the kids, and whole donuts for the teachers/ staff. There was some miscommunication and they ave all of the old enough kids in P's room (the infant room at the time) a whole donut plus donut holes. I inadvertently caused a sugar high and crash for her entire class. Oops! Not sure what we'll do this year. If her new daycare also allows in food from outside bakeries then I will probably send in donuts again and see how it all unfolds.

I'm not sure what we will do. His birthday is a Friday but I'm taking the day off to spend it with him. He moves up on Monday so I'll ask his new teachers what the norm is.

E's daycare is small (3 other families) so we invite them to our party at our house for E. His b-day is when the daycare is closed anyway though so we wouldn't do anything extra there.

I decided to take in mini muffins. We're not having a party, so nothing to invite his class to.

armpants when is M's birthday? We decided we are just doing a small something on his birthday, nothing huge. Now he will go to daycare on his birthday, but I don't think they will allow outside treats in. I will have to ask.
