Sweet baby Jesus work has been relentless (we are so understaffed it's not funny).

:::Whispers::: I still haven’t finished Ozark. I think I’m either at the end of 2 or beginning of 3. I couldn’t give it my full focus and attention so I stopped and never went back.

Sweet baby Jesus work has been relentless (we are so understaffed it's not funny). I’m sorry. Same for me because guess who went in today?? If I didn’t there would have been 1 tech there by herself, so I drug my butt out the door after 3 different people were trying to reach me. Maybe next week I’ll get to catch up and relax?🤷🏽♀️ I’ve decided I’m just going to suck it up and not complain because I should just be happy to be gainfully employed. The stress knots in my shoulders will just have to camp out until I can woosah. 😒

Not much on here. Had a big blow up w B this morning over her horrible attitude and they way she talks to me and mh. Any of your kids like that? She really makes my blood boil and I just can’t even believe a 7yo has the audacity to talk to us the way she does sometimes. I mean I expect it from teenagers but not this age. I’m really thinking about taking back some of her Xmas gifts but idk if she will really be able to understand that correlation since it’s not an immediate consequence. Yup. I see it more when he's been hanging out with a certain friend here on our street, who is definitely a bit...impertinent (to put it nicely). I'll call B on it and say, "You sound like XYZ right now, and I don't like it." Maybe the wrong tact, but he usually reigns it in and I think he knows deep down it's not acceptable. I think part of it is the age/testing boundaries, or trying out sassy stuff they hear on TV, etc. eta: B's most annoying habit is dawdling. O.M.G. Painful.

Found out earlier that there will be a drive by Santa event not far from my house, so I’m taking the kids to wave at Santa and pick up dinner on the way back.

lahdeedah , so much for "do not bend!" Apparently shredding and throwing are ok, though:/ Glad they were intact. Happy Hanukkah jewels ! We loved Ozark...no way they can leave it hanging like that, I will riot. If you haven't watched it and want something smart and funny wineallthetime , The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is great. I just watched Emily in Paris and it's light and fluffy and delightful but only 1 season. Goliath is really good if you like John Grisham/Lincoln Lawyer type stuff. Billy Bob Thornton redeemed himself for me in that one.

slenle , Breaking Bad is excellent but it was like American History X for me in that some scenes were so disturbing that it's a one-and-done for me. I'll never watch it again. Really? It takes a lot to disturb me and you too I thought. Now I need to know what bothered you?

Hi! So my giant tree is completely dry I noticed in the first couple days it wasn't taking up water as quickly as my trees have in the past, and I felt the branches today and they are decidedly crispy. Ugh. I just need it to hang on thru the 30th when my MIL leaves (don't get me started). Thankfully the needles haven't started dropping yet. My mom and C and I went to a jeweler today so I could make a Xmas wishlist for DH, then we went to lunch at a cute little restaurant nearby. Nice holiday outing, it's an older part of town and the homes and decorations over that way are worth the drive alone. This afternoon I stood in line at the post office for almost 40 minutes--with both kids--to mail a certified letter. Came home and poured a big glass of wine afterwards...my nerves were shot Kids are brushing their teeth and once they're in bed I want to go soak in the tub.

Lol, I love a good “woosah.” In a previous job, me and my coworker always used to say it when we were annoyed. I believe it came from the movie Bad Boys.

Melting the kid and I just felt so damn bad for Jesse when he was hostage. He was the picture of one of those so depressed and hopeless you can feel it.

I stopped Ozark, too. I don’t think I was in the right mind to pay attention when it was on. It’s on my “try again” list.

Josie’s school pivoted to remote learning yesterday afternoon. Three cases in the 4th grade so to prevent any wider spread before the holiday, they closed. I’m heartbroken but I know it’s inevitable and when I picked Josie up, she happily told me she gets to learn on zoom with her friend. Kids always have the right outlook! Selfishly, I’m trying to figure out how I can wrap presents during the day so I don’t have to do it at night.

Our school department made it official - after 2 weeks of full virtual, the kids won't be going back before the holiday break. No surprise really, even Col took it in stride.

Ugh, so depressing about the school situation up there. Glad the kiddos are taking it well joelies guster . We are still in down here. The state will continue funding virtual school in the spring semester so the option is there for those that need it, but our governor has said he won't shut the schools down again like back in spring so I'm cautiously optimistic we can KOKO.

I looked it up to make sure it is an actual word and it is! But I spelled it wrong... From dictionary.com.... Thanks to the popular reach of Bad Boys II, whoosah, commonly spelled woosah, has become used as an actual form of soothing self-talk or admonition. It can be used as an interjection (You're getting stressed. Take a deep breath. Whoosah!) and a verb (I had to whoosah all morning). I promise, I’m trying to give myself a break. As of right now, I only work Thursday-Friday next week, but This time last week I was only scheduled for two days, too, so 🤷🏽♀️.

flamingo , how has your pup been doing lately? Thanks for thinking of her. So far, so good? I'm supposed to be watching for signs of pain, problems eating, etc. but she's been her normal active self, is eating fine, and doesn't seem bothered or 'off' yet. We are just loving on her and spoiling her as much as we can. She's up in our bed with me right now...9 years of training and good manners, undone in a couple months

My kids haven't been to in-person school since mid-March. It still catches me off guard when I hear people mention taking their kids to school. It'll be nice to be normal again someday.

It'll be nice to be normal again someday. +1 only private schools were in session here for about 2 months, and they are mostly back to virtual. They may open ours in mid Jan for some populations, but 60% that just did a survey want to stay virtual once the hybrid plan goes into effect. The "you could be sent to different school" disclaimer definitely threw a lot of people off, us included. My workplace had a presentation today and said cases in our area are mostly tied to work and indoor dining..I meant to comment on your post yesterday, but thought of you when they said this.
