I need to change Josie’s car seat. It’s so overwhelming online, can you spam me with your 5 pt harness hbb that eventually become regular hbb that use the sealtbelt?

Probably me. I love this seat. Super easy to take apart to clean. Light weight but comfortable. We have 3. 2 in my car, 1 in my moms. Both my boys use it as a hbb now. Jack just switched.

We have this for L. We just switched it from the 5 point harness to the high back booster with the seatbelt. It has worked great for us. Took L sometime to figure out how to buckle and he’s a little slow but improves every day.

We have the Graco Turbo LX link. We really like it but it does not have a 5pt harness. We had one that did and when we took the back off it was very awkward to buckle. C is still in the HBB and will be for a while since the maximum weight is 100# and height 57in.

Are you wanting to put J in a harness still? Most of them max out at 49” for the harness so keep that in mind. I believe the one with the tallest height limit for the harness is the Diono.
We have a Britax grow with you clicktight that I like, and my in laws have the graco tranzitions like the others have linked. No problem with either. My MIL has a little bit of a hard time unbuckling the graco but it’s fine for me.

Her well visit is next week so I have an accurate measurement.

We have the Graco 4ever. I'm about to convert it into a regular booster for Cadence since she just maxed out in both weight and height.

P is still in a Diono in our “long distance” vehicle, but she’s tiny (and L is going to be in his for a LONG time - he’s only 30 lbs at 5).
Our around town car she’s in a Gracco high backed booster and we have a no back booster for the occasional friend or play date (which has been moot this year).
I should probably look at the height on the Diono, but I don’t think she’s even close.

I got distracted by the holidays and didn’t order. Right now I’m between two different seats — a Graco and a Diono. Question for the Graco users. Do you have to transition ( like actually do something to the car seat) from the five point harness to the seatbelt or can it be a choice when she’s in the car?

I guess she could choose but it would probably be uncomfortable having the harness pieces there if she isn't using them.

Guess I’ll just go with the seatbelt.

So I transitioned into the backless booster a few weeks ago. It doesn't attach to the seat at all. It just sits there. How is this safer? If I were to get in a crash I feel like it would just fly out from underneath her. Or is that the point of the weight restrictions? She weighs enough that even when impacted it would stay in place....idk, I'm just used to it being hooked in. She also says she wants a neck pillow because now she has no where to rest her head.

It's really just to raise her up so the seat belt sits in the right places on her body. I would guess her weight and legs will keep it there. But my mom has one for Matthew in her car and it attaches with the lower anchors.

Our high back booster's limit is 100lbs. Can you get a new seat? The one I got has the latch system. I also got a non high back with the latch as well. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BGVLX5M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We have j in the maxi-cosi rodifix booster. It isn't a 5 point but seems comfortable. My cousin is a certified carseat installer/pediatric nurse and she switched to this for her daughter.

We use the high back transitions (and to answer guster's question too, we use the seatbelt but when we got it we used the 5 point harness. We took that out b/c as wedding said, it would be uncomfortable). But I grabbed some low back boosters to keep since we sometimes transport our bubble family kids. I, too, was shocked that it didn't connect. I was fine w/ it since it's our extras at this point.

Quoting myself because when we went outside a while ago, the booster was in the garage because we haven’t put it away from our trip and it does have that random compartment. I never knew it folded out. Lol.

We have the Diono cambria which is very similar. I like that it hooks to the seat with the latches so you don’t have to worry about it moving around when no one is in it.

trtlcrzy That’s one was what we went into the store for, the Diono Cambria, it’s a great seat! B said he was uncomfortable and he looked squished a little and MH was like ‘it’s fine, let’s move along’ and B looked worried so I took the shelf seat back in the store, took B in with me and had a good chat with the sales associate and she suggested the Monterey, he immediately looked better. I had no idea that the expandable back was even a thing 🤷♀️I blame too many choices!

We have one with an expandable back too! Really handy, they can sit in that thing until they’re 12yo or something. Don’t ask me how we’re going to fit three car seats in the back of the significantly smaller European cars...
