Not a UO but I'll update here: M cried/tantrumed for about a half hour after I left, and then calmed down and was totally fine until I picked him up after lunch. So that's a 1/2 hour crying, and 2 1/2 hours playing.
When I arrived to get him he didn't even run into my arms, he was just like "oh, hi Mommy" and kept playing. The teachers said he did really well.
ETA: Suck it, Mom.

You're doing it right. Your mom is being unnecessarily dramatic.

UO: I like giving baby shower gifts. I really like thinking about these poor women and where they're going to be in the middle of the night in a few months. I like to put together the things that I think will help, plus nice things, and a few sweet things and funny things.
UO: I am also unafraid to go off-registry, though if I see something good I'll include it.

I recently went to a shower where I was asked to address my own thank you card envelope. I would rather not get a thank you card than address my own. Popular or no? This is the most horrifying "new" trend. I die a bit inside every time I see it done, I physically cringe. One of my bridesmaids started to do this at my own bridal shower and I awkwardly was like 'Nooooooooooooo you must stop this immediately'. So they put out an address book for everyone to put their contact info in instead and that was actually awesome and I still use that address book to this day. I have done this at every single bridal and baby shower I have attended in at least the last 3 years. I had no idea this wasn't just a thing done at all showers now. But yes, +1 to team tacky

UO: Not really an opinion, but I normally forget to do thank you cards. I despise them!
