As soon as we get home from the beach! I've listened to MIL nag about how much M wants food all week and the week before that my mom wouldn't shut up about it. Now I'm holding out on principle. BIL literally swatted a naked bean out of MIL's hand that she was about to put in M's mouth. Thank goodness someone is on my side!

E loves everything except peas but I am going to keep trying.
I do a mix of making my own food and buying some mostly the fruits.
I just wonder at what point I can move to level 3 foods. She has two teeth.
I will ask at my next pedi appointment and ask about sippy cups and water.
Any reccos on sippy cups?
E gets fed 3x a day mornin oatmeal with fruit afternoon and evening veggies and fruit.

Caboose, caboose! Dd had some oatmeal cereal last week because her reflux was so bad. Seemed to like it.
I'm nervous about starting her on solids because we have a nice schedule and feeding her at dinner is going to throw everything out of whack for a bit. Totally selfish but I like my routine!

We've tried purees (peas, green beans, butternut squash, carrots, sweet potato), and finger foods (watermelon, banana, pasta, bread).
Seems to like it all
Hasn't refused anything
We were sending one puree to daycare, but daycare lady wants us to send two. Whatevs. So she'll eat one puree for breakfast and one for lunch. At dinner, we'll just feed her some table scraps ;-)
sippy cup rec - Munchkin 360 cup.

I really need to get better about feeding him solids. He's all about them, I'm just lazy.
What's LO eating these days?: Anything besides lemons.
What does he/she like?: All the things. Besides lemons.
What does he/she dislike?: Lemons
How many meals and how much are you giving?: We're lucky if I remember to give him any at dinner but if he gets stuff, that's generally when Lol
Tips/Tricks/Wins/Fails/Feeding related- product reviews?: Um. Nope! He eats really well and is trying to pinch pea-sized things to pick them up instead of just smashing them.

We haven't officially tried solids yet. Waiting til 6 months, much to my MILs dismay.
I have given her tastes of my foods. Everything has been a winner. I will be making my purees and sort of BLW. Also considering supplementing with formula when we introduce solids. Not because BF is going poorly, but because I'm tired of pumping, and imo, formula is just like another food. I did just pick up a pack of Freemies though, so maybe that will make pumping on for the next 3-4 months that I work.

peaseblossom55 teeth shouldn't hold them back on going to the next foods. We use our back molars to crush food and those don't come in for a long time but they'll use their gums to mash things in the meantime. I never did the different stages of foods but introduced regular foods cut into tiny pieces of increasing size and toughness. Good ones we started with were clementines, frozen peas and carrots (the carrots are the perfect size), regular oatmeal, DS liked the Nuk soft spout sippy cups best for learning and around 1 year we switched to the Take n Toss ones bc daycare uses them and they're crazy cheap.

BLWers - help me here.
A is an assisted sitter. She cannot sit upright on her own. So for now, when we do table foods, I hold a big chunk of food (banana, avocado, bowtie pasta, melon) and let her gnaw it.
But when she starts sitting better and I put her in the high-chair to self-feed... Do I serve big chunks for her to bite from? Or tiny bits because I'm terrified of choking??
Why can't I remember from DD1??

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk I obv have no experience but for chokable foods I was planning to go big enough that it doesn't fit in her mouth and can be gnawed on (giant slices of apple etc). For soft foods I thought smaller to finger feed. That's just my assumption though and I haven't fully read up on it.

Finally got some solids in M. She was pretty unimpressed with butternut squash but I can't wait to see her progress.
AW ahead (PDQ): Poof

What's LO eating these days? B has had: Cereal, sweet potato, butternut squash, peas, apple, banana, peach/nectarine, red pepper, pumpkin, carrots and peanut butter. He's also gnawed on some chicken. What does he/she like? Everything but peas. I think he likes sweet potato the best out of everything. What does he/she dislike? Peas. How many meals and how much are you giving? He gets cereal and a puree at daycare, then at dinner he sometimes gets more depending on when his last bottle was. Tips/Tricks/Wins/Fails/Feeding related- product reviews? Win: B stopped pooping overnight again. When we first introduced solids he started waking in the motn with a dirty diaper, so I'm glad we're back to more predictable bm schedule. Fail-ish: I wanted to do more blw with B, but he LOVES solids and eats a lot of puree. Review: We got these silicone feeder things that look like giant ring pops. I'd say they're a decent success.

ellabee what are you putting in the feeder? I bet M would love those. We have mesh ones but they get gross and the silicone seems easier to clean.

I've done pieces of peach/nectarine/banana so far - anything that can easily squish through the small holes. I use both at the same time and and when B's done mashing one I swap while I re-load the other. I throw all the pieces in the dishwasher, so it's not too much of a hassle.

I was giving A little bits of watermelon yesterday and she started to gag a little bit. My H had a heart attack and begged me to stop giving her "real" food.
