So...the school nurse just called me. Evie felt nauseous after eating her lunch. I went to pick her up, even though the nurse gave her a dose of Zofran. She said Evie also complained about feeling dizzy. I'm going to message her rheumatologist so they're aware. If she still feels crappy tomorrow, I'm going to find a place to get her tested.

Evie seems to be back to her normal self, no tummy ache and no dizziness. Her rheumatologist hasn't gotten back to me. I'll see how she feels in the morning.

UO: I don't mind the COVID no birthday party thing. It's been so much easier to just celebrate with our family and not have to stress about RSVPs, set-up, clean-up, etc. The kids had fun and didn't miss it either (although I know they'll be happy to celebrate with friends next year). And I don't like the drive-thru thing. I basically feel if-you-love-it-I-love-it-for-you about it, but I'm glad the girls didn't ask for one.

My SIL never got her test results today. She told my brother she isnt feeling any better, she gets winded walking to the bathroom, they did give her steroids last night and are going to do that again tonight, and she's had a fever today.

But until they get the test results, they aren't treating her, so she's getting frustrated.

Did she ask the nurse or doctor about them? Is your brother in contact with the nurse? Make sure they are asking about results because I had a patient who had respiratory symptoms but we were waiting on results to do our cardiac study. The covid test was somehow damaged in transit and they never recollected it. I talked to the nurse on day three and was like- why hasn’t the test resulted? She had to call to figure it out and it was only then that they had someone from the lab come to re do it. This was before we got the rapid test and it took 36 hours for a result. She needs to keep asking why haven’t the results come back. Ridiculous.

I hope she gets a diagnosis soon so they can treat her. So she was getting steroid, but not antibiotics?

ETA: I don’t want to scare you, but it just sounds concerning that she is feeling the way she is, but they aren’t treating her. I think you said her lungs look like pneumonia, so they should be at least starting antibiotics. Is she allergic to them or a reason she can’t take them?

My brother spoke to the nurse who said the test results could take 24 to 48 hours. I've heard the rapid tests are not very accurate, and the time seems to be the average, I think.

She was on antibiotics last night, which I thought was weird since the WHO says not to give antibiotics for covid. They stopped the antibiotics this morning.

So I think, since its all second hand, that they're waiting for confirmation if it is or isn't Covid, so they treat correctly since pneumonia is treated differently.
