Early morning pt. today. Came home and mh is already acting flustered and pissy because he had a morning meeting. He's worse than the first grader sometimes. 🤦

Other hand that I have nothing. Just work.

Morning! S and I are headed to STL for the day. 3 hour drive there, appts at 11 and 1, then a 3 hour drive home. What a way to spend her birthday.

One of the appts today is with the dermatologist. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, but S has developed a few bald spots on her head. I first noticed it in July. But I thought it was maybe from me pulling her ponytails too tight or something. That’s part of why I chopped her hair off short, so I couldn’t do ponytails to sort of rest it. But it’s gotten worse. So that clearly wasn’t the issue. My suspicion is alopecia. Which is an auto immune issue. Or side effect from medications. But she hasn’t had any new meds in well over a year, so that seems unlikely. 🤷‍♀️ Just another notch on the list of odd unexplained shit to plague my daughter.

Morning. PDQ My best friends dad was admitted to hospital with COVID last night, he’s a teacher and probably got infected at school. He’s been sick for a week, but he was getting worse and worse. He seems a little better today. This selfishly makes me worried for dh. And also selfishly (to complicate things for you girls) my friends mom/his wife is my midwife...

I cleared out both kids wardrobes and purged old/damaged clothes and put away stuff that’s too small or for the summer. I’m enjoying the last days as a family of four and kind of not want it to end, on the other end I’m like ‘get this show on the road baby!!!’ This is me as we speak.

Morning.

This morning as I was getting out of bed, my thoughts chanted ‘Just gotta make it to Thursday’. It’s my day off this week.

I’m at work and feeling normal for the first day since Thursday. Yesterday my head was just foggy and I couldn’t focus so after The zoom party I did nothing. I need to get my life back on track today so I’m about to make a list of things to do this week so I’m not overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, another coworker is out because he is going to get his kid tested today. If the kid is positive, he has to stay home and that makes two people out for a while.

I won't be able to talk to a nurse until 10 because they made medicine rounds from 8-10.  He's on antibiotics for a UTI and he had another fever Saturday night.  I believe he has to be fever free for 2 days before they'll transfer him.  They sent the fluid in his drain off to a lab to see if it's saliva or something else and that hasn't come back yet.  

Being that this whole process is taking so long, I'm wondering if he'll be able to get released to us rather than the rehab facility.  I have a flight scheduled for Wednesday but I may need to push it back, unless my half sister can come out here.  The kids tell me to come home every night when I talk to them and I know it's hard on MH to be on his own.  I think my MIL will be back on Thursday so maybe she can help him.  IDK.  I just want my dad home.

Morning all.

I decided to take another vacation day, cause I just ran errands all last week. So I am doing NOTHING today. The last time this happened was Feb 22 when my Mom took the kids overnight pre-covid and MH was on tour, seems and feels like a lifetime ago.

Currently sitting in front of the fire with a hot tea watching Holidate, it’s good so far but the Australian accent is killing me every time he speaks...next up will be bingeing The Crown.

vino that sounds amazing and will be my plan for tomorrow . I watched letters from julliet last week, never seen it, it’s nothing really special, but a nice feel good movie.

ETA speaking of Australian accents, my all time favourite show as a teenager is going on Netflix next week, heart break high, about kids going to a high school in a Sidney suburb. The actors playing teenager were at least 25 & problems were way to much for teenagers, I’m dying to see if my memory serves me right 😂.

Hi!! I’m in the middle a holiday haze— I have a front entry table with Thanksgiving decorations on it, the front porch is decorated for Thanksgiving, I put up the Christmas trees, and I just took down Josie’s birthday banners. It was a bit of a hot mess this weekend but we had fun putting it altogether.
I need to make my thanksgiving menu today or tomorrow.

Boss L forgot she signed us up to do a collection today. So I’m outside waiting for people to show up. I’m also taking conference calls.

My state is shutting down again starting tomorrow or Wednesday. So I'm guessing tonight or tomorrow will be our last night of TKD for at least a month. *sigh* I totally get it, but it's a bummer. The skate rink just opened up and we were looking forward to going again. Stupid anti-maskers.

Remember my pathetic boss? Well my whole team is annoyed with his BS. With the state shutdown we were wondering about full TW again (right now we're only 50% despite being able to do our entire job from home). He gaslit all of us and outright lied about getting us permanent part time TW. I really, really want permanent full TW for my sanity and for what it'll do for me as a parent. I think I would have had a third child if I was TWing all along. So I think I'll put my boss on the spot this week so he'll say "it's out of my hands" and I'll use that to say no problem and go to his boss about it. I'd much rather deal with his boss because I don't think he's a lazy liar.

Hiiiii. It's been a day here. The tree guys finally came to clean up all the storm damage (everyone has been backed up for months), the cleaners came, then I had to make a second trip after bringing Chase to daycare because Col's bus didn't come. Then I had a conference with Chase's teacher followed by a half day workshop that has turned out to be so dull. I want to log off and nap! My only saving grace is that the tree guys are still here and they're so loud, they're keeping me awake.

Well, the dermatologist said that it is alopecia areata. Totally harmless, just annoying. Treatment right now is a topical steroid. She took pics and measurements of the spots to compare at our follow up in 3 months.

I'm glad it's nothing serious.
