We typically go to SIL's and then my grandma's. This year will likely just be the 5 of us so I'm trying to decide what to make. Thinking:
-Ribs (turkey is blah) -carrot casserole (my fav) -twice baked potatoes -mashed potatoes (kids choice) -Peppermint ice cream dessert my mom makes every Thanksgiving and Christmas
Other contenders: -brie and cranberry bites -a festive salad -rolls and apple butter
L has also requested watermelon haha

All I have to make are my Dad's sweet potatoes. I don't even have to get my kid dressed because she'll already be at my mom's!

My Aunt generally hosts TG dinner. Tbh, I don’t love her cooking (and I don’t love TG food in general) but she does make some bomb ass cheesey bread that I look forward to each year. I was going to make a spinach gratin to bring to her house.
It’s also B’s bday that day so looks like I’ll be bringing a bday cake too.

My MIL is going to order food this year from a place by their house. The last time we did that M was born and they brought everything to the hospital. I'm looking forward to no stress, wine and less clean up.
I'm also not a huge fan of TG feasts. Love me some potatoes & brussels sprouts anytime of year. I can pass on the turkey, stuffing/dressing, cranberry sauce & pies.

We are so up in the air I can’t plan. We usually go to DH’s brother’s but he’s the one who recently announced a divorce we didn’t see coming. We are invited to my sister’s but I’m not sure we should go. My other sister said no. We go no where but to my kid’s sports and I’m so worried we will bring covid to someone else. My sister said she’s planning to do it outdoors but I don’t know how that will go.

I'm keeping it as simple as possible. It's just the 4 of us and FiL. Smoked turkey breast MH's dried out full turkey that the pets will enjoy Mashed potatoes If I can get my BiL's sweet potato recipe I'll make a small batch because I'm probably the only one who will eat them Stovetop Stuffing--I'm not a big fan of stuffing and MH loves this so I'm going with the 5 minute version Those brie and cranberry bites sound amazing Rolls I think I'll make pumpkin cookies for dessert wineallthetime can I get the peppermint ice cream recipe? Sounds like something my family would love. For the first time ever I'm taking off the entire week of Thanksgiving so I should have plenty of time for baking, but now that we're back on shutdown people are hoarding again so I'll have to be flexible since I bet a lot of stuff will sell out. You can never have too many cranberries so I'm sure some jackass will buy 23 cans. Keep those UTIs at bay.

inthekitty, it's SO good Mint Dessert 1/2 package Pecan Sandie cookies 1/2 cup nuts, chopped 3 squares unsweetened chocolate 2/3 cup butter 1 1/2 cup confectioners sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 3 eggs (divided) 1/2 gallon peppermint ice cream 3 - 4 chopped health bars Roll cookies and add nuts, put 1/2 in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan. Melt chocolate and butter, add sugar and vanilla, mix Add 3 egg yokes to chocolate mixture - beat. Beat three egg whites. Pour into chocolate mixture. Stir. Pour chocolate mixture over crumbs/nuts in pan and chill 2 hours. Spoon ice cream over. Top with remaining crumb mixture and heath bars. Freeze.
