lfig hope S feels better, not a good way to wake up! Nothing planned today. FIL and SMIL didn't make it to Evies party yesterday since they were out of town, so they're bringing dinner over tonight and her gift.

Impromptu trip to OR today to meet my mom for lunch before increased restrictions start.
I hope before I go I can find my glasses. They're misplaced. I pretty much only wear them for driving in rainy dark weather and I except it to be like that on the way home.

Morning.
I’m tired. I didn’t have a good night sleep wise. I was pretty much wide awake and didn’t fall asleep until almost 2.
I called my mom last night to see what was happening with Thanksgiving plans. LSS- were going to my moms for a few days and only planned to have us and my grandparents to eat. Well my grandma invited my uncle and she found out when uncle texted her and she had to call him to find out who was coming and tell them that we didn’t want a lot of people. Come to find out my uncle was bringing two of his kid’s families. Lol- no. With all of us it would be over 20 people. I’m not comfortable with that and I’m definitely not comfortable with my grandparents being around that many people. I don’t know how uncle’s family is operating during these time or if they even take COVID seriously. I’m already planning to wear a mask around my grandparents and eat outside in hopes the weather will be decent. It’s a lot of other past drama, too, but I think it made me restless.
Sorry for the word vomit. Think I needed to get that off my chest so I could enjoy M’s day.

Thats frustrating lahdeedah. I wish people would play by the rules so it doesn't cause these stressful situations. My sister is a nutty anti-masker. She lives in an area with a mask mandate and refuses to go anywhere or get her kids haircuts. It's...something. I'd go crazy if I just let MH do all the grocery shopping all this time because I'd never get what I want.

@lahdeehdah it’s one of the things I hate most about this situation we’re all in. The tension and discussions about the rules/interpretations/what is deemed safe etc. I’m sorry for the drama, hope you can still enjoy your day!

lfig I hope she feels better soon. Do her new treatments seem to be working with reducing seizures? I *think* it’s better. She still has daily seizures. But the ones that used to last 45 seconds to a minute are now lasting 10-15 seconds instead. And we still have a long one (10-15 minutes) about once a week instead of twice a week. So overall I’d say there is some improvements. They are still increasing the intensity of the stimulation on the device every 2 weeks so it’s still not at its full potential yet. We are also seeing an increase in her ability to focus and she seems to be learning more and doing more developmentally. So that has been exciting. She is saying more words appropriately, seems to understand and respond to requests more (come here, pick up the ball, ect) whereas before she didn’t really understand what we were asking of her. And we think a lot of that has to do with the VNS device. The dr said that even in patients that don’t have much improvement in their seizures, they still say they feel a lot better overall. Also, even when she’s not having seizures, she’s always had a lot of “background activity “ on her EEGs. Basically, lots of “misfires” going on in her brain. And I’m wondering if the device has helped settle some of that, helping her to focus better. Sorry, that was a lot of info you didn’t ask for. Lol. But the potential we are seeing is exciting!

Also, the other day at OT, I realized I do t give S enough credit for what she knows and is capable of. The therapist tried a new game on the iPad with her where she had to pick the longest/shortest, biggest, smallest whatever. I thought no way she knew what they were asking. And she did it! So then I thought it was a fluke....and the therapist said let’s do it again and see. And she did it again! So clearly I need to give her more credit! The second time I got it on video!

The anti-maskers here are all over the place spreading their germs.

Hey. Lazy Sunday at my house. I got a little worked up last night about covid and it took me a while to go to sleep. I placed a target drive up order so I’m just waiting to get the email that it’s ready. It’s 80% birthday gifts for H. I had DH pick up birthday treats for H to bring to school on Tuesday so the only thing I have left to do is order her cake, we decided on a cookies and cream cold stone ice cream cake.

I'm jealous of those of you who could send treats to school. Evies school wouldn't allow anything from outside to be brought in. You can let the office know you want the treats they offer, ores, rice krispies or pencils.

I definitely killed a good 4-5 hours trimming the bushes so our lights will actually fit over the previously overgrown holly bushes. Then a quick run and some cupcakes for balance. 😁

I’ve watched the latest season of the crown and done laundry. Not even close to getting done what I should be getting done.

I did laundry and watched Dash and Lily on Netflix. I thought it was a movie, so I was a bit disappointed that it was a series. It was cute, but a bit lackluster.

Busy weekend here. We bought dh a new car yesterday (Mazda CX-30) and spent most of the day doing that. Then we had dinner at my parents and I grocery shopped after. Today was “playoffs” for flag football we lost the first game and didn’t progress. I felt bad for the kids. They were really bummed. And the other team only won by 4pts. After that we returned DHs rental and then C and I went to a play date with a couple of his classmates. When we got home I started hanging Christmas lights. I’m not going to light them yet but I got a lot done.
I’m hoping work is slow tomorrow. I’m tired!

A doesn't think he'll say anything because he obviously doesn't want to talk about it. And he didn't give her any details at all. Which would've crushed her even more.. she needed to know. She blames her mom for all the problems in their marriage and its not fair or accurate. But mil would never have told her.

How's your hospital holding up? Are schools still in person?! Target drive up is the best thing, I love that it's free.

You can let the office know you want the treats they offer, ores, rice krispies or pencils. We can only send individually wrapped prepackaged treats, so DH bought unicorn little Debbie cakes. Nothing fancy, which is just my speed.

I haven’t been there since Thursday night so barring anything crazy it’s ok but full. It’s the fullest I have ever seen it and 1/4 of the patients are covid+. They have doubled up covid patients because they are running out of rooms. Yes, the schools in my district are still in person. My sister got an email from her kids’ school saying that they may have to go virtual soon because teachers are out and they are running out of subs. I’m sure that’ll happen in H’s school soon enough. It’s a mess and I hate it. I wish people would stop being so dumb, and just follow the rules/guidelines.

lahdeedah we had a really nice visit. My brother came to so that was a nice surprise. After we ate we walked around an outdoor outlet mall for a bit. On the way home I heard that my governor is ordering another big shutdown starting Wednesday so I'm glad we got a visit in.
