Right now our DVDs are in a cabinet but it will not be making the move with us because it is hammered.
I am trying to decide if I want to just put all of our DVDs into a large book and toss the cases or if I want to keep them in the cases and find another place to store them in our new house. Im worried I might miss the cases as dumb as that sounds. Ive also thought about cutting out the covers to fit in the book slip covers. TBH we dont even really watch them much anymore but I like having them in case our internet goes out and I like owning a physical copy of my favorites.

I store them on a bookshelf in their cases. I do the same with my cds. I did the same with my videotapes (before I migrated to DVDs). I know it makes more sense to store them in a book/binder, but I prefer to keep them in their original cases with the inserts/liner notes, especially the boxsets of seasons or complete series.

I'm having the same dilemma. We had a DVD rack, but got rid of it because the toddler would empty it every chance he got. Right now, they are in 8 of these: and are under our bed. I haven't pulled any out in probably a year, but couldn't bear to part with any more either. I might put them all in sleeves and in one box instead, that way they take up less space. I thought about a binder, but I like to keep mine alphabetized, so it would be a hassle anytime we got rid of or gained a new one.

I'm not sure where all the DVD boxes ended up but I took out all the movies and put them in sleeves and in boxes like these (I actually used the Ikea ones). They are alphabetized and I put in card stock with a letter on it showing where each new part started.

Ours are in their cases in photo storage boxes in our tv stand. We keep the boxes separated by kids movies and adult movies.
