Two things: 1. Wwn13d: CTs numbers are up. The governor just put a 10 person limit on all recreational and social gatherings, indoor and out. Josie has her first Girl Scout meeting on Sunday outside to decorate pumpkins and put them along some trail. It’s 14 girls and each one has a parent attending for the first meeting. I wrote to her leader wondering if plans need to be changed because of the restriction and asking if I could help at all, and she told me that the Girl Scouts of Connecticut supersede that advice bc we will be outside with masks on. Would you still go? I’m a bit of a rule follower. 2. I started the Queen’s Gambit last night and it is excellent. Control and addiction and abandonment. It’s all very good.

guster Since you're outside with masks, I'd probably still go. I would pick a spot farther away from everyone to social distance well and probably take my own decorating supplies and leave as soon you you were done. Have hand sanitizer with you as well. Evie's GS troop is going to a food pantry today, masks are required and I'll have sanitizer and wipes as well. We have no plans the rest of the weekend.

mwhip, thanks! I’m leaning toward that but I don’t understand how a group can just go over the head of a governor’s rules. I get it for the schools bc the kids are in cohorts all day, but this is a two hour event with more people than a classroom and a different group of kids.

guster yeah, that is weird, I wouldn't say the GS are above state government. And especially for something like pumpkin decorating. I've considered canceling going to our thing this morning, but know its important for Evie to see the situations we will experience this morning. We will just social distance.

I really love black and white rules. These gray areas are too much for me. I appreciate your ideas— I hope you and E have fun.

guster I hat gray areas too... just give me clarity! Is hands on interaction to help with the decorating necessary? Or can parents hang in the back for a bit? If it’s the latter I think I would be fine with it.
Eta but knowing myself... I’m a rule follower, so I probably wouldn’t do it. I just had a discussion with my mom about st Maarten, the Halloween kind of thing. Our government called up on parents not to walk & sing at doors this year, to stay inside. My mom wanted us to stop by. Which, they’re in our bubble, the kids see my parents almost daily, should be fine, except I do not want to walk down the street with kids holdings lanterns when the government specifically asked us not to... so we’re not going to do it.

Morning. Lots of arts and crafts today for my moms birthday. The weather is amazing, perfect sunny autumn day, I met a friend at her parents allotment, we brought a thermos with tea and she brought some really nice nougat. I was nice to be out of the house for an hour.

Morning. The pump room at work is freezing today. Work hasn’t been to bad but it sounds like DH is struggling with V. She is stuffed up and he doesn’t like using the nose sucker, but too bad because it needs to be done. I really hope they call the election today, this is getting old. I’ve already decided Biden won, I just want it to be official. Happy birthday to H tgrimes!

Cadence is going to melaniesue's M's birthday party today. It's a sleepover so Cadence is super excited. While she's at gymnastics this morning I'm going to go pick up some AG books I found online. It's all the original ones and I'm hoping Cadence enjoys them. We started reading the Magic Tree House series last night and she kept asking for 1 more chapter, so I'm glad she's in to them.

We were supposed to see my family today for an outdoor pizza party for Josie’s birthday, but 10 teachers in MH’s school got asked to quarantine yesterday. 3 teachers in his department and 1 he shares a study hall with. They’re not sick, but they all teach someone who has Covid, so we canceled because my aunt is over 70 doesn’t really want to risk it. I was looking forward to having a bigger celebration for Josie, but I’m also secretly relieved because they are all Trump supporters and fully believe the election was rigged. I could not handle the stupidity today— their instagrams are enough to hide from.

Dang, our girl scout troop has yet to meet in person. We do zoom meetings every other Tuesday with activities. I guess my concern is that it feels like a slippery slope. If the governor tells you to do something, you should do it and not look for the exception. Because I can make an exception for everything I want to do, but that doesn’t mean I should do it.

I’m currently working on homework while C feeds the kids. I’m also hoping to finish Christmas shopping today (except for 1 thing for L. Waiting to see what he gets for his birthday). I need to swing by Costco sometime soon and pickup my Christmas cards.

Where is the activity being held? All the signage is back in the parks, etc. here, but somehow sports are still going so I can imagine how GS could KOKO. We're just back to one parent per player and no siblings.

We had such a fun Christmas bday party for C! Now taking down Christmas stuff and raking leaves haha.
We do have an outdoor party for SIL's daughter who has the same birthday as C. I really want to go!
