Cadence woke up at 4, then we were rushing around this morning because she didn't want to get up.
Good news: my eye is better and I can put my contacts in today. Woohoo

Hi everyone. Not much, SSDD. B had her first out of uniform day for the year, so she was all happy to wear her own clothes to school today. I’m just wfh and waiting for the cleaners to show up.

Morning! Today is going to be busy since I have to run to the office.
Evie is home from school today, but I think MIL is coming to get her soon.

Good morning. Glad your eye is better klong11! I biked C and our neighbors son into school today. I felt so suburban mom and I kind of liked it. My neighbor offered to bike them home after school but I’m going to get C since it gets me outside and the next couple of days are rainy. When I got back I got a work email that basically undid all the work I did a couple of weeks ago on a financial agreement I made. So I will be dealing with that today. It would be really nice if people could stick to their word!

I finished the Haunting of Bly Manor last night. It definitely wasn’t scary like Hill House but I enjoyed it. Of course dh got home during the last 15mins and made a bunch of noise.
Any scary shows/movies I could watch? I like stuff like this where there is a good story with it. I can handle scarier though.

Morning. Last full day of vacation over here. We went mini golfing, it does not work with a 4/6yo, but they had fun. Dh is reading Charlie and the chocolate factory to the kids, it’s cute to watch them hear it for the first time. I can’t wait for them to get a little older and read other classics with them. We just took a short walk in the woods, popcorn and tv now & fries/nuggets for dinner. All to make this day make for some great memories .

Glad your eye is better klong11. That's cute nam2013, MH is reading Narnia to B every night before bed and he is liking it. I'd like to read something like Charlotte's Web next, we are very much 'respect nature' in this house like giving the spider a name who lives in the garage window etc and I think Charlotte's Web aligns with that, I think even J would follow the story where Narnia, not so much.

vino we were talking about Narnia maybe being the next one! But we’re wondering if Dd might just be a little young. I don’t want to introduce things to early, because they might mis the magic . We’ve read a lot of the astrid lindgren books, some roald dahl and soms dutch story books. But we’re always on the look out for story books that we can read to both of them together, tips are welcome! ETA ever since the kids were born we’ve had a set routine at night, I’d nurse, Dh would read & then I’d sing for/with them. Besides the nursing of course we still do this every night.

I started it on Amazon prime last night and I’m not a comic book person and I am not a horror movie person anymore but after finishing the first episode I had to turn it off and put on something comforting like Schitt’s Creek because it left me feeling kind of shaky.I will definitely watch more of it but I think only one episode a day for now.

Morning!
My parents are due in today so C and I are going to fetch them from the airport in a bit. The kids, esp., have really been missing them.
They want to come over and see the house this afternoon and surprise B when he gets off the bus, so I've been doing housework, etc.

I feel drunk but I'm sober, I'm (not so) young and I'm underpaid I'm tired but I'm working, yeah
That pretty much sums it up. I've got a lot of odds and ends to manage today at work and if we get done in time a playdate at a park.

I was looking through the Scholastic website the other day and saw a good sale on Bridge to Terabithia. I thought I could totally wreck my children by reading that to them. So good but so sad. Both Katherine Patterson and Lois Lowry are excellent authors but have some gut-wrenching stories. The Giver was always my favorite.

Adding Utopia to my list. Sadly I haven't been as into Bly as I had hoped. It's ok, just not what I was expecting.

Facial was good but odd. This is the first time I’ve ever had one done. The esthetician didn’t tell me what she used at all, which is kind of annoying because I liked some of the products. I guess she wasn’t trying to sell me anything so that’s a plus. I think DH and I are going to start watching the good place tonight. We finished watching Perry mason the other night and DH is annoyed there is only one season out.

MH drives me crazy with his inability to say no and set boundaries. The current issue isn't anything major, but he's subbing today and one of his colleagues he barely knows is in dental school and asked if the girls could be guinea pigs for a cleaning. This person is apparently persistent because she asked about a month ago too. It's not covered on our insurance, it's unnecessary exposure during a pandemic, and they already have a dentist they adore with their next cleaning scheduled. I have no doubt there are many other options for her to find prospective patients. Instead he texts me which girl needs a cleaning more. I said neither.

Even without the pandemic, I wouldn't subject my child to a hygenist in school. I know they need people to work on, but work on adults. I don't want to scar my child anymore regarding the dentist than she already is!

I'm home from the office. It was good to see my boss, but there are so many things that are not being done now because of the 3 people that were fired. Clearly no one at our corporate office realized the amount of work these people did, and it's showing.
I stopped and grabbed some groceries on the way home, meant to get a handful of things, $120 later...this is why I do grocery pick up.
I *think* I'm caught up on work (knock on wood). So I may do as little as possible this afternoon and try to get some things done around the house I haven't had time to do.

inthekitty my h and I were just taking about the dentist... we’re supposed to go next week, but with current numbers I’m not really comfortable exposing ourselves more than necessary and since we went four months (we normally go every 6) ago I don’t really feel guilty cancelling. ETA I was a bit too blunt...
