tgrimes first of all I’m really sorry about your h’s grandfather. Secondly I’m with trtlcrzy, if it’s really important to your h, I’d go. ETA and Don’t feel guilty. This all just sucks, we’re all doing our best to make do with the crappy situation we’re in. Big hugs.

Wow lahdeedah about state group restrictions. We are still at 15 people max. Girl in the south the governors have said F it. Our governor removed the statewide mask mandate just as our numbers were starting to creep back up. 🤦🏽♀️ and ever since then I have seen a lot of people not masking. We were out to eat a restaurant Friday for the first time since then- at a place we do outdoor dining. People were waltzing in maskless. I refuse to sit inside. I never liked it because of the fact that you could take it off at your table. If you are actively eating, then cool, but I if I’m waiting on my food or finished eating, I put my mask on. I’ve only eaten inside twice now, but I won’t be doing that now that mask mandate is null and void here.

lahdeedah , flamingo , I have found the best prices for electric scooters at Walmart. I was looking at hoverboards but maybe I should look at the scooter? He is so good on his regular scooter though so I hate for him to not get that exercise. FWIW, my neighbor with the 4 kids got their 2 older ones hoverboards within the last couple years and then basically had to ban them. She said they were more trouble than they were worth, for a lot of reasons. I always said I wouldn't get an electric scooter b/c "it's lazy, he can push a scooter!" (and then walk uphill both ways to school in the snow, etc). But B is so active and loves his bike, his regular scooter, etc., so I don't think an electric one will suddenly end all that, it'll just be another vehicle in the fleet, if that makes sense? The kids around us that have the electric scooters seem to really enjoy them so I think I'm going to cave, haha.

tgrimes I wouldn't go. The mandatory 2 week quarantine would be enough to make me tell H sorry. I would think he would understand as I wouldn't expect him to go, if the situation were reverse. I'm sorry about his grandpa.

tgrimes given all that and the complications with your work, the kids being in school, etc., I would probably stay home and let my H go, unless he really felt strongly about my attending. I think anyone with half a brain would be understanding of your absence in light of everything going on.

I just talked to Evie's Rheumatologist. I'm going to take Evie to get lab work done tomorrow since I pick her up from school early, I'll bribe her with ice cream. Once her dr gets the lab results, she will call in the orders for the oral methotrexate, folic acid and anti nausea meds. She recommended starting them on a Friday evening so we have the weekend, in case she does experience stomach issues. So not sure if we will start this Friday or wait another week.

tgrimes I would not go. honestly - my grandmother is also dying (it could be next week - it could be 6 months - she decided not to replace the battery in her pacemaker so it's giving out). Anyway, we have all discussed that as much as it sucks, we will do a service over zoom. All her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are scattered around the country and we would all have to fly in. It just seems too risky for us. So I would not bat an eye at a spouse not going, and while it sucks for your H, I am sure he would get it.

Soooo were back in to a sort of pre-lock down... as of tomorrow restaurants/coffeehouses etc. are closed. No alcohol is to be sold after 8 (supermarkets sell alcohol over here). Indoor and outdoor there’s a maximum ‘group’ of four people. No traveling on public transport except when necessary for work. And working from home, with the exception for jobs that can’t be done from home (factory work, daycare workers, nurses etc.). Schools will remain open. This will be at least for four weeks, after two weeks this will be evaluated. If numbers don’t go down, we’ll be completely locked down (or so they say).
For Dh and me this does not change a whole lot, we already did all of this. For lots of restaurants, concert halls, theatres and coffeehouses this will be their downfall 😕.

tgrimes i would stay home. It was sad not having any services for my grandma but we didn’t want anyone to feel pressure to attend nor did we want to have a funeral be the cause of spreading Covid nor would she have wanted that. mwhip I hope E tolerates the meds well and they help give her some relief.

Thanks for all the Thanksgiving wishes yesterday, it was nice to have an extra day off of work. We moved everything off the main floor and now have everything jammed into our room and the basement. The kids think this is quite the adventure, I'm just keeping my eye on the prize.
The refinisher was very happy with our prep work and was able to get right to it when he arrived today WOO HOO! It's so loud in here.

Thanks guys - I didn't tell the story for the response - she's 100 and more than ready to go. I am not really sad about it since she is so ready.

tgrimes and jewels I'm sorry to hear about your ailing Grands. My opinion has nothing to do with Covid, but I wouldn't take the kids to the funeral. Only because I know Cadence can't handle that sort of thing emotionally right now. Heck she came out of dance class this evening and when I asked her how it went she started crying and saying she missed Penny. My mother's dog that died last month. She's very fragile as if late.

Sorry to here about the ailing grandparents tgrimes and jewels. My kids would have to quarantine for 2 weeks - school and sports - if we went pretty much anywhere out of state (I think we could visit wedding technically) which would require me to also take time off, despite being 100% remote. So I would skip without guilt for sure.

Also since you have all been so supportive even with me being so inconsistent here, I wanted to share the good news. My Dad's scans from last week were clean. Like completely and totally clean. From what I've read, this could mean an extra year or two, maybe longer. It's for sure the best case scenario and somewhat unexpected, since my Dad certainly hasn't taken any kind of care of himself over the years. It's such a relief given that we can't see him right now.

Amazing news joelies!! tgrimes I concur with others, I would pass given the circumstances and risks involved. If it was a smaller ceremony or just immediate family I'd maybe feel different. I'm sorry
